Hello, dear customer!
This video is a part of my crochet bag pattern "Geometry" where I’m going to show you a very easy and fast way of bag decoration.
For this method we’ll use:
- a work yarn (you can use a contrast one);
- a related number hook.
First of all, you need to connect a piece of a contrast yarn to the lid. For this place the yarn on the wrong side, put the crochet hook tip into a hole between rows. Now make a yarn over and pull it on the right side. So, there is the first stitch. Leave about a 5-10 cm tail that will be hidden later and hold it with fingers fixing it on the wrong side. Continue working in slip stitches.
There are 2 steps only that you have to remember and repeat for every next stitch:
1. to put the hook tip into the next hole between rows, make a yo and to pull it on the right side;
2. then you pass the second stitch on the hook through the first one. Don’t pull your work yarn too much, otherwise stitches will be too little and the work will look tight!
So, you just need to continue your work in this way repeating those two steps to the row end. I believe that it’s not difficult and you have already understood what you have done.
When the row is almost finished it’s time to work the last stitch and to fix the work yarn. Working the last stitch make it bigger than others. Cut the work yarn leaving a tail about 10 cm long. Using a hook pass it on the wrong side, pulling it out. Now you just need to fix yarn ends on the wrong side and to hide them between stitches. Due to the double lid you have not to worry about those ends. They’ll be hidden between them and will not be visible.
