Once you get a system down with the deck, it's really not that bad. I take mine off/on very often and at first it was a struggle. Now that I have a better understanding if how it works, it a easy task.
Yeah Deere has terrible customer service and parts availability I love they’re machines but I can’t stand when your supposed to get a quote emailed to you and it never happens
My son purchased a Deere 1025R just over a year ago. He has accumulated about 200 hrs. on the unit. During the summer months the mower and bucket are switched several times a week. The transition is quick and easy. It does a great job with any of the several attachments he has for it. It seems to be well worth the extra coins to purchase it.
@@TractorTimewithTim I'm sure it is I just saw what kinda old tech other brands used it blows me away most small rider mower use same set up and their decks are much lighter and easier to install but a drive over is the way to go for belly mower
Really? I just back up lift up w/ my quick hitch grab the lower pins run the hydraulic top link out pin the top, hook up the pto and go! >1 min I am one of those weirdos that prefers the rear mount. It is aN older JD mower though their cut quality is second to none!

I do too, for the finish mower and my ford back blade I have to flip my top link hook upside down for my tiller I can’t use the quick hitch. Pats wouldn’t work either cause my pto shaft is too short! I’m a hobby fabricator so it’s nice to have those tools to make what I want if I need too.
Thank you Christy and Tim! I do like how high the NH mower lifts however, I'm glad that I didn't go "cheap" when I bought my 1025R, especially at my age I don't want to lay under it to attach the deck and the quick attach loader is a game changer for the forks, grapple etc. regardless the brand. "Been there done that" back in the day.
Interesting to see the differences. Deck reminded me of my neighbors very old JD 400 garden tractor. As he got older he sat in a chair and gave me instructions. I enjoyed every minute I helped.
Yes it's hard until you figure it out but I can put mine on In a couple minutes as well. Not that hard and do it in the yard without turning the wheels as well it slides easily in the grass. I do believe it is easier on the Deer until it gets some age on it then we will see. My bx is a 2004 with over 2000 hours and I have replaced a metal hydraulic line. Never dealt with any new Deer tractors because of dealer In the area sad but without a good dealer tractor isn't worth much in my opinion.
Tim, you had clearance issues with 2 bellymowers, that I know of. Run your tractor up on inch thick boards to give you that extra little height to clear the bolts on the mower.
I had a cub cadet 5234D. The mower deck (on average) took 3-4 hours to install. There were many reasons for this. My 'favorite' step was reaching the mid PTO to attach the drive. It was further from the PTO connection than the length of my arms (and I don't have short arms).
People knock Deere saying that you pay a lot for the green paint but actually they put research and development into the things that really matter and this video is proof of that.
I have a LS MT122 with a FEL and I leave the loader attached to remove my deck. It lifts the front of the tractor making it easier to remove the deck after disconnecting. Once you’ve removed the deck a time or two you learn the shortcuts. Connect the front bracket before the rear and the PTO. It takes me about 5 minutes to remove and attach. I can connect the FEL in less than 3 minutes. Like anything, practice makes perfect (or at least easier). Love your videos. Keep em coming.
I have the exact same tractor and love it. I really don't mind the little bit of extra work removing or installing the implement's. It is way better then a shovel and a wheelbarrow...Thanks for the review
I have a 2020 New Holland Workmaster 25s. This is the inexpensive way I went for a vinyl cab for last winter. I bought a vinyl cab for a rider mower and made my own mounting brackets with two 6" pieces of 4" angle iron bolted to factory holes in loader frame and two 10" pieces of 1.5" angle iron and unbolted two of the bolts on back of ROP bar and used those to bolts for bracket for vinyl cab drilled holes in brackets put threaded rod to slide poles for vinyl cab frame on threaded rod. With it all had a vinyl cab for around $400. Have any questions ask
I wouldn't be able to have an attachment like that due to a medical condition with my hands. Before my medical problems, I use to be able to change front brake pads in about 30 minutes. The last time I had to change front brake pads took me over 3 hours. Love the video's keep up the good work and god bless and stay safe.
Great job Tim, I am impressed by your ability to fairly evaluate and make realistic application reviews of all types of equipment. As for your statement about removing and reattaching the mower deck, you are right on. I had a Kubota and the main reason I traded (up) for a JD was the aggravation and effort to remove and replace the deck. And, you must remove the deck for cleaning and sharpening the blades even if you don't remove it for anything else. Since I needed my tractor for many other chores after mowing, I was constantly removing and replacing the deck. Finally, I just gave up and got a JD with Auto-Connect. I always say "JD is user friendly".
That works NH deck works pretty much the same as the deck on my 2005 Deere 3520. Which is exactly the reason I took it off permanently and now mow with a zero turn! :) Another good video, Tim!!
I suggested my neighbour ought to purchase the auto connect mower when she purchased a new 1025r. The JD salesman thought otherwise. He steered us to a JD zero-turn that was on sale for just a few hundred dollars more that the auto connect deck price. He claimed it would do a nicer job and, of course it is more maneuverable for mowing than the 1025r. Her yard has a lot of beds and other obstacles, so his point was well taken. Hard to beat the functionality of a dedicated unit. I still like that auto connect deck though. It's just so cleverly designed!
I've been watching your channel for over a year now. I looked at John Deere, Kubota, Mahindra and Yanmar series 1 and 2 tractors. I ended up buying a LS 225s simply because all of the other small tractors were very uncomfortable. I'm 6'4" and find the LS to fit the best. I have been very happy with it so far. Thank you for all of the great content:)
Tim. You know what would be a good, popular and informative video is a "How do they attach video" for backhoes showing John deer, Kubota, New Holland, LS and massey. I notice those vary greatly form one brand to another. Might have to get some guys together to get the equipment you need to pull it off.
My Grandpa had a GR series kubota deck that mounts the same way. The last year of his life he was mowing 10-15 acres a week of lawns filled with sticks and mole mounds. Blades were often sharpened atleast weekly if not twice a week. Lets say I got the deck removal/install down pat. A hard serface is mandatory. Hook drive shaft, then put the front mount on to get the left/right alignment of the deck and partially the front back alignment correct. Then drob the lift arms, and use a prybar to lift the deck to the liftarms. If you adjust the deck all the way down it might help so you don't habe to lift the deck as much. I do wish they had a position for hooking/unhooking the deck that I put the lift arms on the ground without touching the deck height adjustment. Edit to say that I probably had the removal or install down to around 5 minutes without a hickup.
Tim, my Massy 2360 is the same hook up.I been unhooking for 19 years, I take it off every fall for snow removal, but I leave the bucket on year around, the bucket is same as you are working on, I feel your pain, haha
I have a New Holland very similar to this one. No complaints so far. Loader is off and on at least once a week. Mower deck is usually on for the summer and off for winter. The pin on bucket is a draw back. Looking to convert it to skidsteer quick attach
Not just the quick attach but the optional Load-N-Go feature is terrific. Makes it easy to store the deck vertically and indoors (with an after-market dolly). Handy for us old farts.
@@TractorTimewithTim And thank you for the TTWT code for 5% off. I used it. ;-). As well as the dolly for my Heavy Hitch weight bracket, and FEL dolly. You are a handy guy to have around. Thank you.
My first JD purchase as a 2007 2305 with a very similar mower deck attachment. It was heavy and hard to mount and dismount compared with the 1025r that I purchase last September. The 1025r with the drive over attachment is the only way to go. what a great improvement and that is the main reason I decided to make the change to the 1025r
I love Kubota and currently have 3 kubota’s but when I got ready to buy a subcompact the Auto Connect deck was the answer! We cut quite a bit of grass in the summer on weekends and using our ZD326 it takes roughly 3-4 hours. I wanted a multipurpose machine that I could help cut with plus allow me to do other small jobs around the property. When I’m done cutting I remove my mower deck so the tractor is ready to jump on any task I throw at it and John Deere hands down had the best system. The drive over auto connect deck from Deere is the real deal.
The deck install on the Kubota BX is the same as on my Kubota G1800-s. Which is a 1993 build year. I agree with you that I wouldn't want to take it on and off weekly, which is why I kept the G1800 even though I have a BX. I will be reviewing whether to buy a subcompact for mowing as soon as we have grass to cut.
I definitely like the higher lift height on the workmaster. That's irrelevant though because the Deere deck is so easy to take off that if you needed the added clearance you would just remove the deck.
I spent about 1K to put an SSQA on my older Ford New Holland compact tractor, price included a new bucket and a two prong bale spear which doubles as a fork attachment. Best money I ever spent. Now there is never a need to remove the loader, I just leave the attachments off until needed.
Tim, I had a JD 670 when I use to hookup the driveshaft this is what I would do. On the Collar I would put a fat washer to hold the collar back. Then it would slide right on all the way pull the washer and make sure the driver shaft lock in place. That way it didn’t take to hand to push the driveshaft on.
Just wanted at add my BX deck wheels do not turn. Putting in on in gravel is a pain. Hard to drag in the gravel. What I have done is made a wooded ramp and I now drive over the deck or back off at the end of the season. Then the front mound blower goes on for the winter. I also have a B2650 Kubota for what other attachments that I need. Quick attach and backhoe. Would like a drive on but that's not going to happen. So only having to do the deck twice a year I can put up with. Nice video Tim
On my john deere 2305 my mid mount mower. And I agree you do have to have concrete to mount the mower. Attaches the same way Kubota BX and the New Holland.
I can appreciate the auto connect when compared to others, but for me a nice zero turn and a 1025r tlb without a mmm made the most sense for me. No swap and removal of loader and backhoe to meet regular mowing duties.
@@TractorTimewithTim I kept trying to talk myself into a mmm, the load and go is another great Deere option for deck handling that should be considered by those haven’t chosen a machine brand yet. Everyone has different needs and it’s great that the options are out there.
agree. removing and installing the drive over mowdeck on my JD2038R is a god send vs the time ive spent with the old manual connect method on a toro wheelhorse
After watching your channel from the early days I decided to sell my kubota with a rear mount finish mower and buy a John Deere 1025r with auto connect, loader, and tiller. I also bought a wagon because we have so many big trees that small limbs fall all the time. The auto connect Deere mower is such a piece of cake!! I have loved my 1025r. So versatile and powerful for everything I need on my 3 acre yard/farm!!!
Sorry if this was already mentioned, but the Kubota (at least the B series - tractor between your LX and the smaller BX) does NOT have an autoconnect PTO. It is a drive over deck though. IMO the drive over deck really isn't a game changer if you are connecting the deck on concrete/asphalt. I could see it being a huge improvement if you were on grass or gravel where it is harder to slide the deck under the tractor. Hooking up the mid PTO on the Kubota isn't the end of the world, but it's not as convenient as the JD. I typically leave my deck on during the summer unless I really need to remove it.
That PTO connection looks like a 2 handed job with room for only 1 hand. The whole deck attachment makes a good case for a dedicated mower, use the tractor for tractor stuff. My Mahindra 1533 has 3 hoses in back for the backhoe. The 2 upper connecters on the tractor are one male, one female. Easy to know which hose on the backhoe connects where. No reason the NH couldn't be changed to be the same.
Nice video Tim, I have the NH wm25s I do not have the mower deck or back hoe and if I was going to use a tractor for mowing with a deck I would probably of purchased a deere. I do not use my tractor for mowing and never intended it for such so it wasn't part of my decision process but I did like those feature deere offered. I have no issues taking my loader on and off I can do it in about 3 mins or so. The four lines are easy to do I keep mine clean and have no issues. My bucket does not have the quick attach and but I don't need to switch my bucket. I do not even own another piece to put on the front other than clamp on forks I use 6-10times a year. If I find I do need it, they offer the option and I did considered it at time of purchase but passed and I do not regret it so far. I did put Pat's quick attach on the 3 point and I do switch rear attachments all the time and I am glad I have those. I have bought several used older attachments plus I run a post hole digger so Pat's was the best solution for me. I have ran a Kubota and a deere since I have owned my NH they are all very good tractor and will all get the job done. Thanks for the videos Tim and Christy keep up the great work.
My FIL purchased a JD1025 before I discovered this and other compact tractor channels. I'm glad he purchased what he did based on his limited research, essentially the drive on and off mower deck. Now because of age and mobility, he doesn't have much to do with the tractor and he has given me permission to expand its capabilities. I see the limitations of the Kubota and New Holland and so glad I don't have to deal with these challenges.
5 years ago I decided I need a small utility. I purchase a new New Holland. I have always been a Deere man, but the New Holland dealership is across from my office. I kept the New Holland for 4 months, and traded it for a Deere. Much what you talked about, the New Holland was very difficult to change Impliments. I love my 3046 Deere. I ordered it with 3 SCV on the rear. Cost me a little money, but so well worth it.,
Had My BX a year and done lots of Dirt moving with it with the deck on. Only time I had to take it off was to change the fuel filter which is ( stupidly) underneath and sharpen the blades. Gets easier with practice. Other than that the mower is never in the way and I mow with the bucket on my small block as well. Never a problem.
I had a Kubots B7500, I now have a Kubota B2650. The mower decks on those 2 tractors are like your blue mower. My dealer told me to just put the tractor in 4wd low and drive over the deck. No moving the deck sideways, works well. Then I crawl under the tractor from the rear so I have both hands to put the pto shaft on, works really easy. P.S. I'm 75 now.
I like my L2501, but changing from the backhoe to the 3 point arms is not easy nor swift. Once, my backhoe fell and injured my knee. Fortunately only soft tissue, but it took a month to recover. Yes, I have watched the videos, and yes, it sometimes goes quick and easy, but not always. If I were to redesign something, this transition is where I would start. Thanks Tim.
I shoulda mentioned the 3 point arms. Removing and reinstalling them on ANY subcompact (not sure about L2501) is a pain...and is the most difficult part of the backhoe install process.
I think a finish mower on the 3 pt hitch would be much easier. For the young bucks it probably wouldn't matter. I still say you are very smart with all this. Mark
@@kdegraa I was thinking of the trouble of laying on the ground and hooking up that belly mower. Seems like a lot of work. But I see the nimble track you can get in and out of. I have a riding mower and much bigger Tractor without mid pto.
Yeah I have a mower too, its an Iseki SF333 which is an out front 72 inch mower. I would have liked to have gotten rid of it and replace it with a Kubota B series tractor with a 72 inch mower deck but could not due to the price of the Kubota and the non availability of them. I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake or not but we are setting ourselves up to buy a 37HP tractor which does not have a mid mounted PTO shaft. So we will have to keep our Iseki mower which is quite old and has problems.
Skid-steer quick attach is the way to go vs pin-on... soooo many possibilities; from all sorts of manufacturers. Also, the mounting plates are available for about $100 if you can weld and want to cook up a custom attachment or refit an old attachment.
Could not agree more with about the attachment comment. Getting those deck PTO shafts on is always a challenge, wish they were forward more and not inline with the rear tires. Our Legacy is in the same location as the New Holland.
I guess when it comes down to the dollars in what you want to spend on a tractor for the ease of exchanging attachments. Yes, the Deree is the best for removing it's mower deck for now . But in time the other brands will catchup, Massey has a drive over mower deck now but still has to hookup pto an front of mower linkage by hand . With the Deree quick attach mower deck my neighbor on his 2017 1025R had to replace the electric engauging clutch an mower deck automatic pto hookup , very ,very expensive!!!!!. There is good a bad with all brands witch you provide in this video . Good job Tim 👍
Hey Tim, do y'all have any plans to take a look at the new Bobcat compact tractors? They seem to be a good deal, and from what i can tell the serviceability is awesome, with a hood that swings almost to 90 degrees.
💥 I agree, the JD mower deck with auto connect is a lot easier to hook up. However, considering the height that the mower deck can lift on the BX, not sure about the LS or New Holland but the ground clearance plays an important role and allows me to often do loader work with my mower deck on with my BX23S. Great video Tim! *Keep on tractoring!*
If large area mowing was all I was doing I'd go with the Ventrac. But if digging with backhoe then I want a JD or Kabota. It just depends on your needs. Enjoyed the video.
My buddy come over to grab our tiller with his massy and he still had his deck on because it’s so difficult to remove. He want home and tilled with the deck attached just so he didn’t have to mess with. I can’t imagine dragging the mower deck through the dirt was all that good in it. I know he moves snow with his deck on also. Yet he won’t look at other machines that have features that make life easier.
That s very similar to my 2014 JD 2032 with a 72inch deck. As I get older I was having trouble reaching the pto and coupling. I traded last year for JD 2038 72inch drive over auto connect. I do so much more with the tractor because of the ease of removing the mower deck
new holland and kiotis accully copying kubota off wich kubotas were the only ones made that design until they came out other deck mount options wich now kubota has manually and now there new auto connect and drive over wich i was looking at them at my kubota dealer
Im a Ford/New Holland fan....i have multiple blue tractors on the farm but my sub compact NH TC18 may get used the most. Its a slick tractor but I sold that giant deck last summer and bought a zero turn....nuff said.
Having owned an older John Deere 445 Lawn Tractor which did not have a drive over deck, I can confirm how difficult it was to remove and install the deck. I currently have a John Deere 1025r. Absolutely no comparison! So much easier to install, especially not having to deal with connecting the pto shaft.
I bought the brand new New Holland 25s. No problems with anything so far. Came with the three point arms and back hoe. I think the fact that it has a Yanmar power plant, and is priced right made the decision for me. It is definitely more powerful than the kubota bx23, although that would be expected just based on the specs, I didn't think I would notice it as much as I have. Once again though, the dealer and financing options also play a big part in feeling comfortable letting go of 25k. Don't forget to mention with a new tractor, in twenty years, you probably have more left over to sell and recoup your investment, than if you start with a used machine. It is important to look at your purchase from the perspective of cost of ownership over the period you own it, not just the initial investment. In Twenty years, if I keep it cherry, I will most likely get enough out of it to lower the monthly cost of ownership to between $45 and $55 per month, which seems like a good deal for what it accomplishes around my farm.
I have the drive over Kubota deck. The pto shaft aligns pretty well and is easy to attach. Can remove or attach in a couple of minutes. I still think Deere has the edge on this, but my bx is pretty easy.
Although I currently owned a NH 4050 and have owned three others in the past, I'm still biased to my John Deere. I own a JD 3320 with a drive over deck and its awesome. I used it for 5 years with only minor maintenance. I also have a JD 5085M, and have had more trouble with it, however, its still a very operator friendly tractor. My 5085M was one of the first years they had the re-gen converter and thats been the bulk of my issues.
@@TractorTimewithTim I haven't had a chace to use the Deere single point just the Kubota one. Also I like how all Kubota have a detachable loader. I hope Deere starts doing this throughout their lineup soon.
I'd really like to run my massey next to that New Holland and your 1025. I use mine with my tree service quite often and really appreciate it's work ethic. We use deere as well but it's a larger compact so really not fair comparison
I have the Massey GC-1720. The deck is a drive over and then the hook up is similar. There are two rear arms that clip in with those pins, and the front engages quite the same. I take my deck off and on many times a season but it's drive over so not hard at all. My backhoe has three hoses as well. I think you will find on that NH that it has boom float. Try shoving the one lever to a detent and see if it floats. The loader is quite similar, in that I have 4 hoses to hook up. I am going to be converting my Massey quick connect from the Massey one to getting a SSQA quick connect as I want to get a grapple this spring. My Massey quick attach is nice and light, but I only have the bucket and forks for it right now.
The drive over deck on my B series Kubota is much easier than the old style to use. Normally less than a minute to remove it and less than two minutes to install it. However, you do have to get down to connect the pto shaft.
i really liked my Bx25d except taking the deck on and off. I have since traded up, but the way I got the deck on and off was to have the loader on place the deck between the front wheels and bucket lift front of tractor and slide it back under the front wheels. no adjusting wheels or needing and an acre to move around in.
I almost never remove my BX deck since it is a PITA to put back on. So far have not damaged it doing loader or work with 3-pt attachments, even in deep mud and brush. For many of us the dealer drives the decision to go orange, green, blue, red.... I can drive 20m away and get parts for the BX, or drive 1hr+ to the nearest green dealer if I had chosen them.
The first time we saw that deck in one of your previous videos, I thought it was very similar to the Kubota deck. At first glance it looked nearly identical to the RC72 deck that was on my Kubota F2560 front mower. My biggest hang up with the RC72 deck was the center spindle. The center spindle upper bearing is the lower bearing in the bevel gear box. I bought mine with a worn out lower bearing and in the first day of owning it, it wiped the seal out of the gearbox, draining the gear box oil on the top of the deck, as it appears your blue one is wet around the center spindle as well. There is an exchange with Kubota for gear boxes. In 2011 it was $1100 plus my gearbox if I waned to exchange. I ended up rebuilding my own gear box istead, as it was a cheaper option.
Thanks for mentioning the gearbox issue. On the Deere deck, the upper gearbox is NOT connected directly to the middle blade...I think for that exact reason. We pointed this out in our 1025r vs BX comparison.
The BX drive over deck has a few more steps than the deere drive over but it's not that bad. I believe the kubota deck provides a little more ground clearance too. The one thing Deere has everyone beat is the easy move feature. That's remarkable. Maybe I'm wierd but I don't remove my deck for 80% of the digging I do.
I'm so thankful for your detailed comparisons and real world thoughts on these tractors. My wife and I are looking for a place with some land and will be in the market for a subcompact or compact tractor and connectivity is my top priority! The Deere deck system looks hard to beat. But why is it so hard for others to replicate?
John Deere had this same approach years ago...I have a 455 that is so frustrating to take the deck on and off. I have to have the tractor running so I can turn the front wheels back and forth just to get the deck under the tractor!
I will stick with my Grasshopper front mount 61" mower with and electric tilting feature for maintenance. But $$$ does buy convenience with the green paint.
The Auto-connect deck is very nice, but it was/may still be an optional selection. Something to consider when looking used, not all 1025r's (and x7's) will have the auto-connect, and its a few hundred $$ to add it later.
The drive over and deck connection system is definitely standard now. The PTO auto connect may still be optional, but I don’t think so. I’ve never seen one without it! ...and I’ve seen a few 1025r’s :-)
Yes I can see the connection for the mower deck is much harder here than the Deere same with the Kubota however the price different for me for the Deere over the Kubota was $2500 more for the Deere, so for me I can put up with a little harder for $2500.
I have the drive over mower deck on the BX23S mine does not have auto connect but to connect the PTO is done with a lever under your left foot under the floor boards two minutes you are cutting grass. Have a good day
Once you get a system down with the deck, it's really not that bad. I take mine off/on very often and at first it was a struggle. Now that I have a better understanding if how it works, it a easy task.
I love the ease of adding attachments on the Deere. One of the many reasons I decide to buy a Deere!
kubota has skidsteer , Euro quickie style optional loader attachments mounts
I only wish Deere had better rep for stocking parts and lower prices on prices.
Oh and remember Mr Lesco Brandon.
Yeah Deere has terrible customer service and parts availability I love they’re machines but I can’t stand when your supposed to get a quote emailed to you and it never happens
Tim; thats what I admire about TTWT. You always give a very fair and unbiased opinion of multiple brands. I likes the facts you provide.

Kubota separates the men from the boys
I agree but when the quick connect is out of whack, it doesn’t give the dog a bone. When it works, it’s slick as snot.
Another good video, Tim!!
I tried the undermount and the rear finish mower. For my property a dedicated lawn mower made alot more sence around buildings and trees.
Congratulations!!
I like the one on my new Holland bommer 1030 the front connection is tow bars instead of that system extremely easy to do
Tim. You know what would be a good, popular and informative video is a "How do they attach video" for backhoes showing John deer, Kubota, New Holland, LS and massey. I notice those vary greatly form one brand to another. Might have to get some guys together to get the equipment you need to pull it off.
the best john deere commercial of 2021
Love my deere I live 1 mile from a new Holland dealership i drove 60 miles to my John deere dealership don't regret one bit.
$5k more???? no thanks, I will deal with old school.
Hey Tim. Twist the collar of the p.t.o. when you pull it back. It will lock in place and then release when you slip it on the shaft.
Speaking as a guy with a new left knee, you made my knee hurt.
My new (2021)NH 25s has skidsteer quick attach bucket so NH made the change. I take it the one in this video is a 2019 or 2020 model.
Not just the quick attach but the optional Load-N-Go feature is terrific. Makes it easy to store the deck vertically and indoors (with an after-market dolly). Handy for us old farts.
Yep. And one more accessory…the heavyhitch.com deck stand completes the kit. All together, this is incredibly easy to handle and store!
I'm glad I brought my 1025r. In the summer I remove the mower deck and loader sometimes several times a day.
The Deere might be easier but that quick attachment wears out really fast. I replaced it twice
I spent about 1K to put an SSQA on my older Ford New Holland compact tractor, price included a new bucket and a two prong bale spear which doubles as a fork attachment. Best money I ever spent. Now there is never a need to remove the loader, I just leave the attachments off until needed.
Watching this made me appreciate my Drive Over deck
Yep...just more money. I get it.
I love My J D 1025 R for the same reasons You described in your video. It's so easy to change implements!
Love my 3 point finish mower!
P.S. I'm 75 now.
Louis, at 75, you don’t need to be crawling. Think Green!
@@TractorTimewithTim I put them on a stand built on a wooden furniture dolly. I can then just roll them into place and insert the pins.
I think a finish mower on the 3 pt hitch would be much easier. For the young bucks it probably wouldn't matter. I still say you are very smart with all this. Mark
Auto connect mid mount is easier than rear finish mower
If trees and other obstacles need to be mowed around, a belly mower is the go.
I just bought The LS MT240E. 40hp. Way more lift than any of the Deere 3 series and several thousand less.
Off topic comment, I'm looking forward to a loader lift capacity test on the LX!
One thing to do is clean and lube the pot shaft and splines, I also spray lube all moving parts before since they are easier to get too
The mower attachment is very similar to my 2003 2210 John Deere (pre auto connect). I don't remove it as much as I should when doing other work
Hey Tim, do y'all have any plans to take a look at the new Bobcat compact tractors? They seem to be a good deal, and from what i can tell the serviceability is awesome, with a hood that swings almost to 90 degrees.
💥 I agree, the JD mower deck with auto connect is a lot easier to hook up. However, considering the height that the mower deck can lift on the BX, not sure about the LS or New Holland but the ground clearance plays an important role and allows me to often do loader work with my mower deck on with my BX23S. Great video Tim!
*Keep on tractoring!*
I’ll convert you someday, Jon...all I have to do is get you near a 1025r, and you will be sold!!! :-)
@@TractorTimewithTim I’m coming down there this summer. Don’t know when but I’ll keep you posted. 😁
Bring your checkbook! I’ll have my dealer prepare a 1025r for you!
Seriously, looking forward to it.
Exactly. I don’t get it either.
That s very similar to my 2014 JD 2032 with a 72inch deck. As I get older I was having trouble reaching the pto and coupling. I traded last year for JD 2038 72inch drive over auto connect. I do so much more with the tractor because of the ease of removing the mower deck
Exactly! Once you are free from the deck, the tractor is so much more useful.
No one wants to remove the old fashioned decks.
I definitely prefer my auto connect
Thanks for the demonstration
Tim Christi your right you get what you pay for I wish I knew more when we bought and our dealer was better I would have a green one
God Bless All
PaK
Now, I, more appreciate, my auto-connect deck.
And I REALLY appreciate my Ventrac!
new holland and kiotis accully copying kubota off wich kubotas were the only ones made that design until they came out other deck mount options wich now kubota has manually and now there new auto connect and drive over wich i was looking at them at my kubota dealer
Im a Ford/New Holland fan....i have multiple blue tractors on the farm but my sub compact NH TC18 may get used the most. Its a slick tractor but I sold that giant deck last summer and bought a zero turn....nuff said.
I love it when, Christy volunteer's when you need a difficult job to do. LOL
She is a KEEPER! Tim hit the jackpot with her
Absolutely!!
If mid-mount mower was my number one priority, I believe I would have to go with the JD.
When it comes to mower decks Deere has the rest beat for ease of installation. Kubota seems to have the best loader system.
Really? I love the Deere quick attach loader.
Deere has the best quick attach loader. Just Kubota has the nice single point connection for hoses
@@jeremylee6668 but the Kubota single hydraulic hook up are nice, but they are known to leak!
@@Dale.Nienow as mentioned in this video, Deere now has the single point connector...and it does NOT leak.
This tractor has a valve issue...there is no float/detent on it.
The drive over deck on my B series Kubota is much easier than the old style to use. Normally less than a minute to remove it and less than two minutes to install it. However, you do have to get down to connect the pto shaft.
i really liked my Bx25d except taking the deck on and off. I have since traded up, but the way I got the deck on and off was to have the loader on place the deck between the front wheels and bucket lift front of tractor and slide it back under the front wheels. no adjusting wheels or needing and an acre to move around in.
...but...but the bx25d fanboy below says he can install the deck in less than a minute :-)
Good morning, Tim!
Another awesome video Tim. Spring will be here soon enough for ground engaging toys
The struggle with the manual connect mower deck is why I went with the deere 1025r with auto connect deck.
Thanks so much for the informative videos. Trying to convince my way I need a Sub Compact!
Patents, I think.
Tim, can you do a video on adjusting the brakes and emergency brake on a 1025 R?
Thanks,
Tracy
John Deere had this same approach years ago...I have a 455 that is so frustrating to take the deck on and off. I have to have the tractor running so I can turn the front wheels back and forth just to get the deck under the tractor!
I will stick with my Grasshopper front mount 61" mower with and electric tilting feature for maintenance. But $$$ does buy convenience with the green paint.
i have a 2014 jd 2032 with manual hookup and i use a stick (5/4x2x48) to reach under tractor to align links for pins, still easier than that.
My bx2360 is the same as the new holland. I had to do it in the grass or gravel. I didn't have the concrete.
Yes I can see the connection for the mower deck is much harder here than the Deere same with the Kubota however the price different for me for the Deere over the Kubota was $2500 more for the Deere, so for me I can put up with a little harder for $2500.
On my large kubota b, I use the loader to lift the front wheels making it easier to roll the deck under. Then I remove the loader to mow.
On my bx 25 i leave the deck on for most tasks. If i am working in muddy or really rough terrain i will take it off. It is a TLB.
I'd like to see the lift capacity of a newer new Holland with the ssqa.
My uncle s 1976 JD2130 with a146 loader would attach and detach the same way as this loader!!
I have the drive over mower deck on the BX23S mine does not have auto connect but to connect the PTO is done with a lever under your left foot under the floor boards two minutes you are cutting grass. Have a good day
Works pretty reliably for you? Do you have to spend any time on your back or on your knees?
I have not had any experience with it.
About 30 seconds to pull lever
Oh ok...the lever is not accessible from the seat? Now I get it. Thanks.
I don’t currently have a MMM for my tractor, but if I ever get one I’m glad I went with a Deere.
