Good morning, Cheryl! I'm enjoying my coffee and listening to your chat. I love your blouses and choices of color for your fabrics. The trim on them really makes the shirts. The paisley is my favorite. Congratulation on the weightloss. It takes real commitment to get out and move every day, but is such a great feeling when your clothes fit and look better. Having a partner working along side is great for motivation. Your coat is going to be awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing it. Happy sewing! 🥰 Bernadette

@@SuzySunshine Thank you so much. I enjoyed making the first one and really wanted this second one. After I changed the hanger on the new one to a different style/shape, it looked much better😊 My husband loves the new one.

First, you are a genius! We had to move our visit to my friend to this week, and she absolutely loved the frozen meals. I was surprised at how happy they made her. She even liked them better than the flowers. I found glass containers that are freezer and oven proof so all she has to do is pop them in the microwave. Thank you for taking the time to help me; you absolutely made her 91st birthday special!
I can’t believe you are knitting a chicken. I am so looking forward to seeing your grandson’s finished chicken. I like purple too. Maybe that will motivate me to practice knitting again.
I loved both blouses. The contrast fabrics really make the design. Those released pleats are not uncommon in Burdastyle magazine patterns. I normally follow Burda instructions, but I think I would have just done the traditional collar method. Maybe the stitching through all thicknesses does stabilize it more and help with the shaping, but it doesn’t sound fun. I think I like your second one with the back seam and darts best. The seaming and darts look so intentional; no one would ever guess that it wasn’t planned. You always choose such creative projects.
As to stabilizing your coat, I found some vintage extra fine twill tape at a thrift store that is amazing. The twill tape I buy today is not nearly as finely woven and is a little bulkier. If you ever see any older twill tape that says extra fine, be sure to buy it as you won’t be disappointed. I haven’t tried the fine twill tape at Wawak yet, but I will be getting it with my next order. I think stabilizing will be a good idea for that fabric.
In moving furniture to accommodate the treadle, we encountered problems that are likely plumbing issues in one wall that backs up to both bathrooms on one side and my sewing room on the other. I have a shelving unit on that wall that contains most of my sewing resources. Now everything is packed away so the plumber will have access from that side. Needless to say, there won’t be too much sewing for a while. I think the treadle will have to live in the living room for the time being, so I will still be able to sew some. It took a little getting used to treadling, but I am getting better, and it is so much fun. My tie front shirt is almost done. I just have to gather in the neckline and sew on the collar/yoke. Oh, I’ll have to sew the snaps on the modesty panel, too. Hopefully, I can finish that tomorrow. Perhaps now would be a good time to pull out the knitting needs and work on improving my skills. One thing is for sure; if I can’t sew, I’ll be highly motivated to get back to sewing the minute my sewing room is back to normal.

@@nadinewoods6971 I’m so happy that worked out for your friend🥰 Thank you for sharing.
I’m sorry you discovered an issue at you home. Those discoveries can be intimidating. Plus, they bite into our creative time. Practice knitting🥰 the chicken patterns is called, Emotional Support Chicken. They’re really cute. I’m not much on knitting toys, but this one is larger. I think my grandson will enjoy the joke🥰
I had to order the stay tape I wanted to use. It reminds me of hem tape that was sold years ago; you could buy a lace or a satin-like solid tape. You see these packages sometimes in antique stores around me. I imagine this is similar to what you described.
I’m going to cut out my coat and get as far as I can with what tape I have. I’m considering adding pockets too. I may just use plan cotton for those. I want my seams to look nice and polished. I’m wanting a special buttonhole design too. I have to practice😊

Hi Cheryl. I love both of those blouses. The trim in a different fabric looks amazing and very designer.
I know what you mean about Burda, you have to look hard for everything. Even the instructions are teeny tiny 😂. You have a lot of amazing buttons!
Thanks for such an entertaining video xx

I’m sorry about the sound. When I play back, everything is clear. I played with two mics on me and with one mic on and I couldn’t tell a difference between either. I guess it’s the room I’m in; only thing I can think might be causing issues. I don’t have many choices when it comes to space to record and not be interrupted. But I will continue to play with it. So very sorry.
