We're memes, we have dreams, get used to it or go lick an ice-cream! LOL I dunno what I'm saying really. In fact I've not been around long enough to understand the memes surrounding NMH.
I love how he just stops in the middle of Two-Headed Boy, all of a sudden... haha. He doesn't even explain himself, he just seemed to not want to play that one anymore.
After he bungled two-headed boy a little bit he seemed discouraged. Then someone recommended gardenhead and he gave the song the greatest rendition I have ever heard. Glad it brought his confidence back up :)
+Elijah Johnston This is a good musician to draw inspiration from. His music still sounds good and he draws chords and riffs from basic structures but makes them fun rhythmically. I mostly think he is awesome for his lyrics. Not only are they amazing but phonetically they sound good when sung. i.e. "your father made fetuses with flesh licking ladies". Just say it and you will know what I mean. Idk if you're still doing music but either way always practice and watch music wherever you go!

"What song should i play?" he was/is ithe man. you dont see a lot of bands casually take requests. What a gift to be able to create such music whenever you want.
that verse, follow me through the city of frost covered angels i swear i have nothing to prove i just want to dance in your tangles to give me some reason to move it's one of the most wonderful lyrics i've ever heard
Adrian Brown Fucking brilliant. So earnest and unabashed. I love his variations on "leave behind" and "gardenhead" and my god how he just belts out "Name" !! I've seen them twice the past couple years, and he has Scott Spillane hit the trumpet hard on that part. But yeah this is incredible. Glad you like it as much as I do.
Same here! I saw him live with a few friends and it was hands down my greatest live experience. The energy was amazing. You knew they were there for him, to see the elusive man. We even stood out in the freezing cold for over an hour to get his autograph. So worth it.
My favorite thing about Jeff is that musically, he doesn't try to do something different. He plays simple music, but makes up for it in his unique voice and lyrics.
Anyone else catch at about 9:39 to 9:42 how he goes "and this is the part that I didn't write any lyrics". Anywho, Jeff is amazing and a huge inspiration. Thank you for posting the video.
My latest video features the holy herb 🌿 so TH-cam won't promote it. Don't miss it th-cam.com/video/cnEiUoSVr_s/w-d-xo.html NCB also wants Manisha's location, how should she answer them?!?
This performance happened almost exactly a month before I was born. I wonder if the sound waves managed to travel north to Canada and into my developing brain, resulting in my future love of the band.
It's funny how people automatically point to drugs when someone like Mangum's brilliant imagination surpasses their simple minds. I don't think anyone will ever fully understand, exactly, the feeling he injected into these songs, but I can definitely see the beauty of them shining through, clear as fucking day.
I have to say thank you for putting this video on here. And yes it was weird he just stopped like that, but oh well, he can do what ever he wants. :) I wish he would still do concerts, I would pay a lot to see him live like this. My brother had the luck to see him recently, he was at a 4 hour music festival, and Jeff came out and played engines in the crowd, and my brother has always wanted to see him play, so he got pretty luck that day.
because he was meant to sing "put on sunday shoes" instead of "with pulleys and weighs", and it messes the whole song, because then you either finish the song earlier than normal, or you repeat the verse in the second half, I think. Sorry, 6 years later, I shouldn't have even necroe'd it but, y'know, almost all of the comments are 6 years old by now so.
People on here like. This was 5 days after I was born or 5 days before wwas born but this was recorded the day I was born crazy though that it has such a lasting impact on indie music

That was genius. I wish the guy had the microphone so the entire audience could hear it, cause it was awesome

Hope you're not referencing that shitty 22 Jump Street meme.

Dat lung capacity tho.

He is seriously good with that.
I love how he just stops in the middle of Two-Headed Boy, all of a sudden... haha. He doesn't even explain himself, he just seemed to not want to play that one anymore.
He skipped a verse so he messed it up
The strumming in two headed Boy is so tiring and singing your heart out at the same time is pretty difficult.
After he bungled two-headed boy a little bit he seemed discouraged. Then someone recommended gardenhead and he gave the song the greatest rendition I have ever heard. Glad it brought his confidence back up :)
"my longest 'jesus christ' ever"
I was just gonna make this joke
never fails to make my eyes teary, jeff's voice is so fucking beautiful, i kinda feel gay
nah b, you're just feeling. Jeff's voice makes my heart sing, i'm so grateful.
That may mean you’re gay
fair enough
Being that I'm 15 and want to be a musician.. This man is such an inspiration.

whats so golden about him is he doesnt rely on technical playing to impress, just pure melodical gift

he writes so perfectly, everything flows together with absolute fluidity. i cant wait to see him on april 29th.
Was it a good show?
And he was never seen again....
You mean the 31st?
You don’t understand how lucky you are
How can you not love him when he sings the trumpet part? That was adorable.

last verse gives me goosebumps, outstanding
the emotion in Jeff's singing voice TRANSCENDS and PERCOLATES the barriers of tangible reality!
This whole thread brings my soul to a tear. This music is incredible.

ha i love how he sang the trumpet part.
Ugh, what the man can do with a few simple chords.
he hit a wrong barre chord earlier and it took him out of the groove I guess

He also played the third verse in place of second, but that doesn't matter enough to stop a song.
