Dame has earned the right to decide where he wants to play. If he wants to be loyal to the franchise that drafted him then we should all respect his choice. He is already a HOF worthy player so maybe a championship isn't more valuable than the roots he has established in Portland.
No one’s earned a right to anything. This is a business. If the whole company wants to restart, they shouldn’t ruin that just because one player wants to stay. They could get so much for his talents and his huge contract to have a big foot up in a restart. They obviously can’t build around him, they’ve failed at it many many years. It’s time for a change and if that’s what the org wants to do, he’s just going to have to be okay with that. We’ve seen multiple players who wanted to stay on a team and the org trade them. Derozan, Isiah Thomas to name a few. Shoot Chris Paul just got traded with no warning. Why keep an aging player who can’t win and continue paying him ridiculous amount of money JUST for loyalty? That doesn’t get to playoffs, that doesn’t get to rings. His value is going to be his best this off season, and only get worse as time goes on.

@itshiho not the biggest leBron fan, but I get what you mean. However, he basically learned what it took to win when he joined D-Wade at Miami (Pat Riley and Spo were very instrumental here too). Kyrie wasn't getting anywhere with the Cavs, and it wasn't until LeBron returned that the former was able to be part of a winning team, so give LeBron credit where credit is due. His ring with LA, that's another thing, lol.

I remember being new to TH-cam a long time ago and watching a mike and the mad dog, I think I saw a bunch of them, it was my first sports show other than like sports center I saw and I loved listening to them. I forgot until recently after seeing Mad Dog again and searching him up that show existed, it was such a different time, I really cherish those memories and I think it shaped how I view sports, media, radio, and tv today. Im pretty sure they had already been broken up or something but it’s all like a magical land and time thinking about it. Phones weren’t that big yet and there weren’t sports shows and social media and everything that’s common now adays, that’s really something to think about… thank you for the memories 💜

I want JJ and Mad Dog to have their own radio show, maybe once a week. Mad Dog is the basketball historian, has seen some of the greatest teams play and JJ is the younger generation, played up until recently and is very intelligent with basketball as well. It would be a very good pairing.

To me one of the biggest issues with the nba is how they dont help the smaller markets attract bigger talent. Thry should expand the cap to these markets to make them a more viable/financial place to go. Think about it, teams like the jazz, dallas, san Antonio, new Orleans etc ..Even if they draft a generational talent, teams cant get players to go there to help the pieces they have. Denver got lucky a few years in a row with picks, and the Bucks got lucky Giannis wants to stay. With that being said, Dame is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Wants to win a chip, wont win a chip in Portland, wants to stay in Portland. Only viable solution is he needs to be on the phone recruiting people to come to Portland or leave Portland and make sure they get a good package in return. Dame class personified....

Damian Lillard is nostalgic he feels way too comfortable to leave Portland his loyalty is believing he can spiritually awaken his team to a championship with his talent but the group of players on the blazers don't fit his skill set and persona on this team he should consider joining the Celtics, Spurs, Sixers, and Heat his chemistry on those teams would be a match made in heaven 🪄🤍❤️💙💚.

JJ claims he’s not a curry hater but ignores the fact that Houston has always lost to gs with or without kd, and in 2019 they were struggling with kd on the court, he gets hurt then gs swept the rest of the playoffs to get to another finals. They all ignore plenty of things about the warriors runs tho not just him. Easy to see through that
The only people ignoring things about the warriors runs are you bandwagons, the 2018 warriors got bailed out with CP3’s injury, the 2018 and 2019 rockets where different teams in attitude, grit and chemistry as well as some players not returning and before you say “it was a similar team” you’re the same person crying about this warriors team “not being the same as last year” even though they are and speaking off, the warriors from last season got more luck with the nuggets who are reigning champs being injured, the Grizzlies missing their best player for some of the series and them facing a first round exit worthy Mavs team in the WCF and then to top it off the previous champions at the time where injured getting replaced by a young Boston team who folds in the biggest moments. Warriors are the team with the least space to talk about anything being unfair

I don't get the the media's fascination trying to get guys like Dame and CP a ring. So what if they don't get one? Most great players don't. Bill Russell and Jordan alone combine for 17. That's more than 20% of all championships by just 2 guys. These two were voted top 75 and are going to be hall of famers. Why is that not good enough? JKidd and GP won rings when they were older. I don't think it changed anyone's opinion of them and I don't think people should think of CP any differently just because he wins a ring as an older vet that's like the third best player on his own team. And people always bring up Charles Barkley as an example of what happens if you're a great player that didn't win a championship. The solution to that problem is for us to learn to appreciate what guys like Barkley did instead of fixating on the one thing he didn't instead on incentivizing guys to chase rings.
