      Warriors have four guys (Steph, Klay, Poole, Wiggins) that can put up +20-30 points on any given night... even all on the sam night.
      It just makes sense for Green to run the offense at the point and helping those guys score rather than shoot.

      @eugenedixon9715 Curry is extremely difficult to guard regardless of who's bringing the ball down court. Draymond was instrumental in the Warriors championship runs. He is also their best defender, floor general, and the team flows through him.
    But paying him 25-30 million per year for the next 3-4 years will be the nail in the coffin for the Warriors. The money they spend on him will prevent them from getting other players. And yes, Draymond was worth this much when he was 30…but he won’t be when he’s 34, 35, 36. Warriors fan, imagine paying a mid 30s Draymond this money, as he’s averaging 5/5/3 and out with injuries.
    Contracts should not be sentimental.

    • @trainerrob1622
      @trainerrob1622 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doesn`t make a difference. Their window is 2 more years. That 3rd year Steph is 38 and already injury prone. That 3rd year would be a thanks for the memories year. The Poole contract is a bigger problem. They need to move that contact for a few pieces or some expiring money. Can you get KP to opt in and pull of a sign and trade? KP for Poole. Get`s them a starting center on an expiring get Washington a young starting guard to throw out there during the rebuild. Kuminga who needs to be the first guy off the bench gets a bigger role to develop and Looney gets slotted back to into a spot where he can come in and mash back-up bigs. If they can`t move off that Poole contract none of this matters.

    • @amrithbharadwaj4945
      @amrithbharadwaj4945 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patitoduck123 If I'm not wrong, their cap situation doesn't change even if they get Draymond's salary off the books. So they're ability to sign other players does not change. And the teams that would want Draymond outside of Detroit don't have the cap space either and once the second apron of the new CBA hits and teams are locked in with their rosters, there will be teams available for other teams to dump bad contracts packaged with draft equity so even if having Draymond doesn't work out, it'll be okay. The question really is how much deeper into the luxury tax are the owners willing to go. If they're willing, then the two best options for the team are to either keep him or do a sign and trade and see what you can get for him and seek a trade for Jordan Poole with picks to a team that is trying to acquire assets in return for some good veteran players. Just letting him walk would be bad for him as well as for Draymond.

  • @AveryDDC
    @AveryDDC ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The biggest issue with the Warriors right now is trying to keep it all the same. Its almost like disrespectful to Steph and some of the fans. Is the team doing the Lillard "thing" to steph now? Or, is the plan to tank for lottery picks by 2025 onwards? I mean, thats absurd. Now you see why Myers left. Maybe he wanted another ring, and the rest of the organization wanted to keep it all together, which is very contradicting given the performance this season. I mean, practicality wise, its time. I respect that they tried for a push, but its obvious, its over. You see Beal to Suns and KP to Celtics. These teams are already very good, but they are trying thier best to get even better. I mean, you can pay Green all the money, but would that improve the roster? I mean, same with other orvanizations, you have to be pro active. The market is moving, competition is changing, you do something. Since money never matters, its only practical to try and change and improve. Are you telling me that there is no other player that can replace Green? This team is Steph. As long as Steph is a Warriors, it will work. If Kerr is as good as he is credited for, they his system will speak for him, not green. Thats why you have traing staff, team of coaches, and scout. Any body who cannot soot, can pass, and will pass to the shooter. Its simple. You get a non offensive guy, give him the ball, use a pick, then whoever that guy is will just have to pass that ball to a shooter coming of the pick. Is Green only the player in the entire basketball world who can do that? Did the team tried yet?

    im a warriors fan and i understand what draymond brings to the table but of recent he has been a demerit on the warriors roster sure hes a floor general and good defender which are good attributes the team needs but not for 30 mil a year, lets not forget he hasnt bee a voice in the locker room since the poole incident, he turnthe ball over way to much for a fast paced team, cant create his own shot, and when he and looney are on the floor together which is their starting 5 only the 3 remaining players are able to score cos dray and looney cant naturally so defenses know who to focus and dont give me the bs of dray makes like 10 pts a night, man smokes more layups that a d2 player would in the nba and all that for him to demand more than 30 mil a year, while knowing yourr team is kinda handicapped due to cap space is crazy!!

    Draymon will flourish if he playes with a player of curry caliber or on the realm of his caliber like a dame or luka because his screen and passing skills are elite. If u sign green u need to focus on what his great at , not to be a score. But most I will give him is 20 per 3 years but I doubt he will go for that.

    I know Draymond has costed the Warriors in some areas but the good outweighs the bad. Draymond is the anchor of the Warriors. Mr. Curry trust him like no other. Draymond knows what and how Mr. Curry and the other players on the team likes it. With that basketball IQ, with him knowing the ins and outs of the team, you can't let that out the bag. • @heatsbeat7504
    @heatsbeat7504 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Like JJ said, hes not replacable if you cant replace him. Chemestry is a big reason hes on the team like smith said.
    What have Donyell Marschall and Paul Pierce in common? They averaged a better Defense career Rating as Draymond Green. Remember any of them being an elite defender? No, Draymond is a good Defender on an elite Offense Team that won rings. Id say anyone standing out as a decent defender, on a offense Ring winning team, going to be in all defense team. All time best defenders, Draymond is not even in top 100, so dont talk about elite. Draymond was a good roleplayer who will be in the HoF becouse of steph and Klay. Not like Rodman who wouldve been a HoF even without the Bulls.
    Imo you cant replace Draymond, hes just a warrior, maybe not the best but hes mentaly and phiscally, Iq wise and anticipation wise, ahead of most other NBA players espacially young ones.
    Biggest problem with Draymond is his Contract imo, Fot that amount of money you can probably get someone more talented/skilled. Thats what you think, but in reality Draymond has a real low contract, you could get Marcus Smart or Julius Randle for that, but both locked away from trades.

    The Warriors are nothing without Draymond, he is the engine that runs this team. Steph is the best player on the team but he does not rally the team like Draymond does. GS needs to trade Poole and get some good depth in return as well as get a good center to be able to defend AD, Joker, Embiid etc. I would like to see Ayton on the Warriors I think he would be a great fit for the team. Maybe trade Poole and draft picks for Ayton.
