Experience Luxury at The Landmark Hotel Bangkok

- ☀️🌇💃 The Landmark Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, is on Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok. With the exceptional RR&B STEAKHOUSE restaurant on the 31st floor, the same floor as the Executive Lounge. The Landmarks Lounge offer is still good but in need of some attention, and the decor needs updating.
However, in saying that, if you are visiting Bangkok for the nightlife, massages, bars and more intimate Thai relations, the Landmark is ideally located and great as a base for operations, being between Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy, along with Terminal 21 and the BTS right outside. It's changed since the last time we were here, and not necessarily for the better, but still fantastic value.
We stayed at the Shangri La on the return leg, and it was like chalk and cheese but paid for the benefit of that.

I lived in sukhumvit soi 10 for a year. That was 13 years ago. Now I live in a nice quiet rural part of chiang rai. Always nice to see an honest review you.

fully agree. the last 10 years i stayed at the landmark several times and i always asked myself...if the service at the steak restaurant on the executive floor is impeccable, why cant the same standard apply for the afternoon / evening lounge service. both are same floor and even connected. love the landmark nevertheless. thx for the accurate review.

Hi John. As far as beers go, I think there was Chang, Heineken, Singha. White and red wine (sparkling I think as well). A range of spirits and mixers and also some cocktails. If I remember correctly, 17:30-19:30. The food is a mixture of things like Satay, chicken goujon, sushi. If you don't plan on going out to eat, it can fill you up but not in the traditional meal sense. There is a good smoking balcony there if you partake. Not the best lounge I've come across and needs a refresh, but certainly worth it if you are going to make use of it.
The soft drinks and coffee, afternoon tea etc make it worthwhile if you make use of that. Also, you may want to have breakfast there as it is quieter, but more choice downstairs in the restaurant area. A really good selection
The location is excellent though, right in the middle of everything. We stayed at the Shangri La on the way back, that was by the river so great for the views and boat trips, but not much around it other than the river sights and shopping. Hope you have a great time
So are you saying unless you stay in the executive suite its not worth it? Many people cant afford that.
No, not at all. The fact that it was a suite in the review is just down to it being the 20th anniversary of when we got married in Bangkok and stayed at the Landmark to do it. For me and my wife though, staying in a room in any hotel that gives you access to the lounge is a must because it works out better value. We would spend more on drinks and food if we didn't have access, and additionally, we have a base that is not the hotel room, where you can relax and have a coffee or afternoon tea during the day. Lots of other room options have Lounge access. If you are going to be out of the hotel all day and not be able to take advantage of the lounge, don't get it, but it certainly works for us.

@@oSnapMillerTime I should do one! Any good hotel in the middle or far east has lounges, lots more in Europe as well now. When you are looking at rooms, they will probably have 'access to lounge' on the ones that do. They tend to be on higher floors, and more often than not the lounge is on the top floor to. You may have, standard king
@@oSnapMillerTime,superior king and executive king for example. The executive king is usually the better room and comes with lounge access, ie the Executive lounge. If you like a drink at night, want to sit somewhere nice with a coffee or soft drink during the day, like breakfast with fewer people, and can eat afternoon tea and evening nibbles, it's well worth the extra 👍🏻
