Great tutorial! I would say that the only part missing is the last one: take an .apk file from the sd card and install. I tried for half an hour, looked for other tutorials online and I can't figure it out. I tried installing the TV version of android.
You can't without turning it off and on. But you can go into the hekate settings to start without the Jig, BUT if you don't have your bootloader plugged in, it will just have a black screen, and you will have to hold the power button for 10seconds with the bootloader plugged in to restart and it to get into hekate. Also, if you choose to do that setting without the Jig, if the switch battery dies and you plug it into to charge it, it will charge EXTREMELY slowly. So you would have to wait 20min just to charge it enough to restart it and have enough charge to boot hekate THEN plug it into the charger to charge normally. As long as it's full charged, its nice to have the setting, but if the battery dies it's a pain.
Open settings in Android and go to About Tablet/Device. Then tap on the build number 5 times to enable developer settings. Go to the main settings menu and enter System and under the Advanced tab, tap Developer Options. In developer options, enable Advanced Restart. Now you will get options to reboot to Hekate and recovery mode.
