As I smirk knowing that I'll never use my switch online. And immediately make an unamused noise when my switch's serial number's prefix doesn't even show up on the drop down to learn if mine is patched. Apparently it's too recent. This makes me sad. I wanted to mod ToTK.

You can still go in rcm mode, but to make it send payloads you can buy a modchip and ask for someone (or yourself) to insert it into your switch. You have to open your switch Or you can buy a banned switch (which the price is way too affordable, at least under 100$)
Anyone who's got a patched or newer switch that has paid to have the mod chip done please by all means leave suggestions to respectable/reliable modders etc. Pleanse.

I have been using and updating hacking software for years for many consoles and handhelds and i needed to update my switch and I did it how I always do it, but it was not working no matter what I tried and this seemed to work to get me back into atmosphere and homebrew. As someone with experience doing this, I would have preferred the order to be different... BUT... for a total noob I think your order is probably a good thing. I think you did a great job with this. Hmm. My biggest issue is that I do want to turn off my Switch from time to time for long travel sessions. I go between America, Germany, and Japan fairly regularly. I'm looking for a way to boot into Atmosphere by default without needing to inject the payload every time my Switch is turned off. I know this video was posted only 7 months ago, but do you or anyone reading this comment know if that is possible at this point? I know in the "Booting Atmosphere CFW and the Homebrew Launcher" section you said I would have to inject the payload every time. But I'm wondering if there is a new way, or something that can be added to the SD card in order to just boot into Atmosphere by default.

Just fyi at 5:03 you need to back up everything including your games. I was unable to back up my games after doing all of this as my switch was blocked from using the nintendo store..

Have a problem with playing games. Get "this user cannot play this software" notification. Have console as my primary console. Everything else seems to work. Just cant get any games to play. Is it a problem with the linked nintendo account? not sure whats wrong.

I've downloaded what I'm supposed to, but when I go to Tegra and my switch is in recovery mode It never says that there is an RCM connected. Please help me fix this problem.

Is it possible to multitask after the hack? Switching from a TH-cam video and a game would be helpful for example when stuck on a level. My son always asks for our phone to watch a walkthrough of a level when he's stuck.
I have a question when I power down my switch and put it into the mode to put on the rcm my switch keeps turning on when I plug it into my pc what do I need to do differently?
Hold the power button, tap power options, power off. Now remove the sd card, put it into your computer, and delete all folders except for the “Nintendo “ folder. Put the sd card in your switch, power it on, and you’ll be good. You could even power it off completely and then turn it back on and you’ll be out of cfw

I did everything he did in the video & after that I realised I didnt make a backup of my clean Switch. If I do what you asked for, then its like I never did anything to my Switch? Want to make a backup first and then jailbreak my Switch again, so that I have a Clean Backup. Maybe you could answer my question:)
Do you do the jig and holding the volume and power button? You gotta do that everytime you gotta inject a payload. Before injecting a payload -turn off switch -remove joycon and insert jig -hold volume up and power button for a few seconds. -then connect the switch to the pc

That tutorial shows you how to do auto boot and do the payload easier through Android. Then look for "hats setup " that will give you some useful homebrew apps, like 90ns setter to block the Nintendo shop, so helps avoiding a ban. Good luck, my guy !
OMG I just bought a switch for 200€ JUST for modding ssbu offline. And now I see that my switch is XKJ which means its patched... So is there ANY WAY to still mod ssbu or only with a stupid chip??
it's strange, mines is also an XKJ, but it's not patched, but the problem for me is that it can't get the ID of my device(not the serial number). but putting it into recovery mode worked, it did tried getting the payload in but the payloader doesn't respond when injecting it

Make sure: You have atmosphere cfw setup correctly. There should be an atmosphere and switch folder on the root of your sd card if it’s setup correctly. Make sure you have the latest atmosphere and fusee.bin and that you are injecting the latest fusee.bin. The latest atmosphere is labeled “pre release” but it works just fine
Did it all, fatal error that was on the SD side. Redid everything and it worked. Takes no time at all to redo it once you did it once. So if you don't get to hbmenu then just redo the process and see if that fixes it.
Got to the black screen on a category yellow switch :( Hope the version1 I bought works when it gets here in a few days, guess i'll have an offline and an online switch now until I figure out the firmware bypasses and whatnot :). for the new people arriving on this vid that have V2/LITE/OLED consoles!! those were patched , so the jig thing doesnt work so the only way to mod those models, is by installing a chip AKA Hardmod.
@AlexHernandez-xm2fm atmosphere already works on 17.0.1. Grab the latest atmosphere.zip, extract it, move all folders and files to the ROOT of your sd card, and inject the latest fusee.bin
Whatever I do, Switch doesn't get in RCM mode. I have RCM JIG, I screwed a joycon and soldered 9. and 10th pins. I use right rail, I press and hold the volume up, and I press power button, Switch turns on everytime. It does not stay in black screen. What possible could I do wrong? Any idea?

It's not cause when I inject the fusee.bin and inject, atmosphere is giving me a fatal error when running fusee, unable to identify package 1

I have a launch switch, been kind slow with some games and always was jealous of people with newer models. Till now.
Mine says "failed to init or mount SD/ Press any key...." after injecting the payload. What can I do to fix?
Also says "warning: Nyx is missing!" when I press a key.

Worked for me 6 months later. Just make sure at the end you don't have "Nintendo" in your sd card and that you're using all the modern most links

Weird. I got it to boot in CFW but now every time I try to inject a payload, my console just turns back on when I connect it to my PC with USB C

Hi I have a V1 unpatched switch with version 12 and had SX OS can I use this method to migrate to aptmosphere?
I moved/copied everything from my 256sd card to a 1TB one but it seems games cant run...Can i fix this?

Well it was simply my micro sd card messing up
Did it all, fatal error that was on the SD side.
Redid everything and it worked.
Takes no time at all to redo it once you did it once. So if you don't get to hbmenu then just redo the process and see if that fixes it.

I've got my RCM jig in, and I do the little button combination but it still says No RCM on Tegra

@@alexlee2995 yep just needed a better cable. Got everything working well
@@alexlee2995 I was using USB to USB C but switched to USB C to USB C and it worked just fine
