    Making your own songs from start to finish in a home studio has never been more possible than it is today. But what does it actually take to make your own songs? And isn't it expensive? Won't it take a lot of time? We're living in a whole new world my friend. It's never been easier, more affordable and more approachable to make your own songs.
    The only trouble is, sometimes all this great software can get in the WAY of creativity. Has this ever happened to you? A rare lightning bolt of inspiration strikes like a gift from above- it's almost like the song starts writing itself! You can envision the WHOLE thing, you scramble to your battle station (that's what I call my home studio), turn on your equipment, fire up your DAW only to be met with... paralysis.
    It's like you don't really know what to reach for or click on to make the sounds you hear in your head come to life. What follows is a total depletion of creative energy, as you randomly click on things or look up tutorials and all of the sudden the inspiration you had seems to dry up.
    OOF cue the creative gut punch I've sure been there!
    Well, I’ve raised my hand in this space and said that I can help you make your own songs, from start to finish in your home studio. So, I figured that's exactly what I should do. In as real, raw and relatable of a way as possible.
    Introducing my next TH-cam series, "Making A Song In Logic Pro X Start To Finish."
    I believe I have a responsibility to share the truth with you and simplify all the overwhelm. I want to cover all the basics of what it really means to make a song from scratch in a straightforward way.
    And yes, the DAW I personally use is Logic Pro X. So in this series, that's what I'll be creating in. BUT, everything is just as applicable and doable in the DAW you're rocking with. I promise you. Just pay attention to the steps I take and the reasoning behind them, then simply mirror that in your own music software!
    My hope for you is a sense of freedom and direction, that might bring you a little closer to believing you could actually make your songs the way you want to. And most importantly, start taking action! Let's dive in 👊🏻

    The passion in learning comes from the passion received from the teaching. Thank you so much for this. In years of using logic things finally make sense. I was blaming my creativity blockage on things I shouldn’t. I know understand it’s because I didn’t understand. Again, thank you so much

    As a metal guitarist and bassist who uses EZdrummer to program drum tracks and build songs entirely on my own this has been helpful for me writing some solo music along with demoing my band’s songs. I cringe sometimes when I see people using guitar effects without any knowledge about them and would have been great if you had explained some basis of the pedals you picked for beginners that don’t understand what certain effects do, as dialling in effects on pedals is an endless process but this video was great to start, particularly for people that are more into being a producer or solo artist producing their own music. Thank you for this!

    Cool video, I like your enthusiasm! I message to every beginner (including me) who see this to know there are some things you can do faster or easier, such as there is tap tempo you can set up easily, so you can determine the tempo you want quick. Also to fast copy and paste a region there is either command + R or just press L and the selected region will be looped to infinity and then later you can also devide it to regions with ctrl L, easy ;)

    Have you ever listened to an entire album without skipping because it was just that good? What is the key to having a no-skip album, or playlist? The answer to that question is sequencing. Sequencing is what makes the songs into a story with a beginning and end, and gives it a special flow. When it comes to album sequencing a question that you should ask yourself is, what song should come first? What goes last? And what is in between?
    In this article, we will be answering all of the important questions of how to create a captivating sequence, how to fade and zoom out, and how to create a dream sequence. In your opinion grant why is album sequencing is a lost art?

    Great video, one of the most helpful I’ve watched to help me actually DO something instead of staring at the screen. I followed along and did what you did and finally felt productive. Can I ask a question though? When I was recording the electronic drum pieces like you were, using the 808 flex kit, Logic was recording each kit piece as a new take and making me choose one, instead of layering all the pieces in the track, like it did on your video. Any ideas on how to fix that so that all the individually recorded kit pieces play back in that track like yours?

    • @bedroommusicproducer
      @bedroommusicproducer  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Love hearing you took ACTION Jillian! And be sure that one of the individual tracks is not selected. You'll want to select the "bus track" that all those individual ones link back to in order to record all parts at the same time!

      You're not alone! Getting a sense of direction comes with time and practice, but reverse engineering the end song can help. Keep asking yourself, "what needs to be added, in order for the song in my head to be realized?" Are there vocals? Are there drums? What is the main instrument playing the dominate chord pattern? Keep experimenting, and narrowing your creative decisions down, while trying not to judge things too hard - especially at the initial creation stage! You've got this! Keep at it 👊🏻

      The “Choose a Project” menu? It only opens up when there’s no last project to open. So to change Logic’s default when opening, head to:
      Logic Pro -> Preferences -> General -> Project Handling
      Change "Startup Option" to "Ask"

    Sure! It’s a different album, more or less, depending on how much they changed things. For instance, ZZ Top did some radical remixes on their earlier albums, and older fans hated it. From their perspective, they were very different albums from the originals. I think if an album is remastered and/or remixed, it’ll tell the same story but (hopefully) better. Does Remaster and Remix Album tell the same story or Different story nathan?

    In your own words why album sequencing important when recording a studio album 💿 and while listening to a song from beginning to end why every single listener should listen to the song from beginning to end from the very first song the very last song aka opening track and even the title track and the closing track of a song 🎵?

      Hey man! Unfortunately, no - Logic Pro is Apple only. Some good recommendations for PC would be something like Ableton Live Lite, Cubase LE or Fruity Loops free trial... you can simply follow the steps I'm taking here, and apply them to another DAW. Let me know if I can help further 👊🏻

    Is a studio album 💿 is like a chapter book 📖 or a movie or both this is what iamlxgend told me about a studio album and chapter book 📖 It is a cohesive collection of songs used to tell a bigger theme or project an overall vibe. Think of an album as a book. And your songs as chapters. Every book has chapters. Every album has songs. Each chapter is different. Each song is different. But the collection of chapters (the collection of songs) is what tells the full story of the book (of the album). But Jonathan Byrd he told me that Every song has a story. Some albums are just a collection of songs without the intention of telling the bigger story. Some albums are designed to tell a bigger story. Sequencing might be only about the way the music flows, but if the album tells a story than sequencing can do that too. is that true that sequencing is the only way how the album 💿 and song structure flows from start to finish?

    Is music management aka managers are the same?

    • @bedroommusicproducer
      @bedroommusicproducer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question Luke! From my understanding, "music management" is a process and "managers" are people. The process of managing music is interacting with the music of the artist, but not necessarily the artist themself. While managers are interacting with the artist themself and not necessarily the files and data. Hope this helps!

    What is an imprint of a record label? A label used as a trademark or brand and not a company is called an imprint, a term used for the same concept in publishing. An imprint is sometimes marketed as being a “project”, “unit”, or “division” of a record label company, even though there is no legal business structure associated with the imprint.The Legend of Chin is the debut studio album by the American alternative rock band Switchfoot. It was released on June 17, 1997[1] under independent label re:think Records, which was distributed by Sparrow Records. Learning to Breathe is the third studio album by the band Switchfoot. It was released on September 26, 2000.[7] It was their final record for independent label re:think Records, which was distributed by Sparrow Records. This album also received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Gospel Album in 2001. My music question 🙋‍♂ is What is imprint record label and is an imprint record label has a distributor and also does an imprint record label is part of independent or major or both or only major or independent? And is a imprint record label only major or only independent or independent with a major distributor or major with independent distribution record label or independent record label?
