As a metal guitarist and bassist who uses EZdrummer to program drum tracks and build songs entirely on my own this has been helpful for me writing some solo music along with demoing my band’s songs. I cringe sometimes when I see people using guitar effects without any knowledge about them and would have been great if you had explained some basis of the pedals you picked for beginners that don’t understand what certain effects do, as dialling in effects on pedals is an endless process but this video was great to start, particularly for people that are more into being a producer or solo artist producing their own music. Thank you for this!

Great video. When you do multiple “takes” for the drum part on the same track, do you have to do anything so it doesn’t override the previous take? Meaning if you do your kick on one take and then go back to add snare, does the snare take overwrite the kick take? Thanks!
Hey Eric! Great question. So when punching in drum parts like this using a MIDI track the current take does NOT override the previous one. If this were an audio track, it'd be different. But with a virtual instrument on a MIDI track you're able to punch in notes at a time. Hope this helps! Happy creating 👊🏻

Great video, one of the most helpful I’ve watched to help me actually DO something instead of staring at the screen. I followed along and did what you did and finally felt productive. Can I ask a question though? When I was recording the electronic drum pieces like you were, using the 808 flex kit, Logic was recording each kit piece as a new take and making me choose one, instead of layering all the pieces in the track, like it did on your video. Any ideas on how to fix that so that all the individually recorded kit pieces play back in that track like yours?
Love hearing you took ACTION Jillian! And be sure that one of the individual tracks is not selected. You'll want to select the "bus track" that all those individual ones link back to in order to record all parts at the same time!
