What a helpful video! I'd been going crazy trying to figure out the right tweaks to make the "credit" effect work with a large chunk of text (sources for an academic presentation). The little pop-ups were a nice touch, too. I like it when a tutorial is focused, but also teaches much more than the topic at hand. Good work.
Thanks for the video. Not sure how well it worked back in 2011, but using the latest version of PowerPoint, and with a 7th gen processor, and 16 MB of memory, there are a few caveats to this process. First, 500 names would be a stretch. I am working with 68 names and PowerPoint keeps going into a "not responding" mode as I take steps to change things. And it is literally just the volume of names or lines it's dealing with because if I reduce it to about 1/3 of all the names I need to work with, it's fine. Also, the maximum delay is 59 seconds, so if you wanted a 1-second delay your maximum names or lines of text would be 59. Hopefully, this added info will preserve a few hair follicles. That said, this method works far better than the newer "CREDITS" animation. The limitation on that one is based on the top-to-bottom size of your text box. If you go over its undocumented limit the animation just stops. Some sharp plugin programmer...opportunity...just sayin.
I want to take my "movie credits" and make it repeat continuously. I have a printed list of all my CD's. I want it to keep looping over and over. I'm hoping to put it on a USB drive and play it over my TV. Do I just create another slide, and then start from previous? COMPLETE NEWBIE HERE thanks
Hi, this was helpful but how do we add music while the names are scrolling up? I've tried to add sound but it wont play until after all the effects are completed...not DURING. any idea?
+Taniya Ahmed You have to add the music the first position in that screen he showed... And make sure it's set to automatic so it goes when the slide is reached. I'm putting a music video in the back of my credits. Having an issue with the scrolling stuff but video is pretty easy. You can also edit the start and end of the music or video however you want...and fade it out on both ends so it's not abrupt.
Oh yes, there is an easier way to create a credit roll. Take a look at my video tutorial called "PowerPoint 2010 Using the Credits Animation". I originally created this tutorial back when I use to do everything from scratch (the hard way). Now there are some many easier steps to complete things like this. Hope it helps.
I had that problem for a while also. When you move the start/stop, make sure they are circles when you move it. If it changes to an arrow before you attempt to slide, it will not work. Had me stumped for a while
THANK YOU for going through step by step. It was very easy for a beginner to follow along
really helpful

Thank you for the video, and how do you remove the red lines underneath our words in powerpoint?
Thank you, you've helped me a lot to end up my slide presentation :)

hello sir, your video was very helpful for me .Can you give me some idea on how to make scroll down option for my interactive powerpoint presentation?

how do you set a credit roll with 275 names that can last longer than 59 seconds?
I dont' think its possible.
Great video. What if the list is very long ... mine just stops ... so Powerpoint kept crashing ... help?
In newer versions of PPT (2013&2016) there is a credit roll animation u can apply to a list of any size.
thank you for your response! How do I do that (sorry-Im not tech savvy :/ )
There is a problem with the credit roll that doesn't work for large amounts of text. this works much better for larger amounts of text
It looked like he stopped the video, moved the rest, then started recording again.

Didn't even move my credits one bit! :o(
