Not necessarily true. They're trying to establish a timeline, lock you into a lie then produce evidence that will prove you were lying.
Not necessarily, the DA still tries to get a confession to solidify their case. More the solidity of the case, higher the chances of an indictment turning into a conviction.

@Unknown-qp9ur Things were different 10-20 years ago which is when this show is set. Needing a concealed carry permit in certain places was much more common.
Every time a cop says they have evidence against you in an attempt to make you confess, it's a bluff. If they had any evidence, they wouldn't need your confession.
Partially, juries are fallible and even first hand witness memory is unreliable, at the end of the day they're just people. Innocent people get convicted (sometimes executed) and guilty people go free. If you have very solid evidence AND a confession I think it helps everyone sleep better.

Not exactly true, a confession makes everyone's life easier. They often still interrogate you regardless of whether they have sufficient evidence or not. It makes it much easier to establish motive, and is very convincing to a jury. The rule of thumb is don't talk to them either way.

Even if they did have something on him if he doesn't talk they have nothing. In a situation like this they Could let him go even with evidence just to watch him. They where trying to take down a multimillion dollar business. Mikes not the type to break so even if they had him dead to rights he would never spill the beans on someone else.

And what's INCREDIBLE about that to me is that the ONLY REASON Mike exists as a character ... is that Bob Odenkirk wasn't available for additional scenes that season. Mike was one of the coolest characters ever. His death, and realisation he wasn’t going to be able to leave his granddaughter any money, was the saddest part of the series
Except thanks to "good guy" Walter White, he makes sure his former business partners give his money to Mike's grand daughter, through legitimate means so it can't be taken away from her.

Because that’s part of an interrogation . They bluff at what they don’t have and don’t tell what they do, it pressure three ways to see what you know, what you’ll divulge and what you’re lying about. There’s literally no upside to talking to them without a lawyer present. Totally innocent or guilty as hell. Shut up until you confer with an attorney. The states he dosent have a carry license in are probably Illinois Massachusetts New York New Jersey and Rhode Island. A Utah license is reciprocal in over 40 states.

An interrogation can be the difference between charging someone with second degree murder or first degree. Assume they have a ton on you because often times they do have something. Sometimes its just the icing on the cake of evidence, sometimes its just to speed up the process.

Love the fact that when Gomez made that bluff to Mike, Hank is giving Gomez the side eye, and then looks at Mike to confirm his suspicion. He knew Gomez screwed up at that point by doing that, and that Mike absolutely called that bluff.
