This happened recently I was at a lunch table with a group of guys. We were talking about things: politics, US debt, and the Bible. Someone mentioned an employee quitting because apparently a driver had "chased her in an 18 wheeler". I expressed my disbelief that someone would do that and they showed me the employees last message before they quit. We laughed at what she said because it was true. Leadership standing around and talking instead of taking apart in the work and the miniscule punishment the driver received. They clarified that the driver was eventually punished more severely, but the employee had already left. Anyway, one of the guys brings up the employee's miscarriage and I go: "Chill man. i don't wanna hear about that." The woman was the mother of 10 children amd it was sad to think about her having a miscarriage. Plus, I thought she told him that in confidence. A miscarriage is a pretty personal event. He drops it and begins to talk about the employees breath, which throws me off, before another guy mentions a nearby lady who was scretchimg her foot. Four of them are laighing at her and my real friend and I are like wtf. Long story short I don't sit with them anymore. I regret not standing up for that woman. It just came off as bullying and childish. Who knows if she had an issue with her foot or not.
