    Amen, Sir. Salvation is a gift to be received, not a wage to be earned.

      If I gave YOU an unmerited gift, and YOU left it unopened, ignored, etc what good is that gift? You ask this Catholic, if I die tonight, why would God let me into heaven.
      My Catholic answer is: i believe i the begotten Spn of God, Jesus Christ who came to save /redeem mankind. The Same Christ who was born of the ever virgin, was 😂crucified, died, buried but rose again on the 3rd day. I cooperated with the grace that God has given me. Through my faith in Jesus, I’ve tried my best to keep his commandments, i have confessed my mortal sin, and with that restored soul have consumed him in Eucharist (as he commanded and as apostles understood immediately after he rose) And yes, because of my faith I have done my best to do works pleasing to him. Because as it says in the Book of James, faith w/o works is dead. James also goes on to tell us that “even the demons believe but still tremble…..”. I do not believe that I could gain eternal life just by proclaiming something I don’t back up. Nor do I know I can’t with just works and deeds.
      If I tell my wife I love her all the time but cheat and beat her, what good are those words?

    After we are saved this is HOW we are supposed to live: Titus 2:12 “…We should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Since you are saved - your eternal destiny is secure. You CANNOT lose your salvation. HOWEVER, if you let sin REIGN/DOMINATE you (Rom 6:12-14) in any area - God MAY decide to chastise you (Hebrews 12:5-11). God KNOWS saved people will sin (1 John 1:8) - God just does not sin to REIGN/DOMINATE you. Once saved -you should be in the SANCTIFICATION process. Please read 1 Thess 4:1-7. Please look at video 296 - you don’t want this to happen to you 👍❤️🙏

    James 2:24
    “You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.”
    I know you have a response to this but I’m interested in hearing your take.

      You are saved only by trusting in Jesus. See John 6:47. Once saved - a MOMENT IN TIME, AFTER…AFTER you are saved you SHOULD do good works. HOWEVER, you do NOT trust in your works for everlasting life. See EPH 2:8-9, 2 Tim 1:9 and Titus 3:5. James chapter 2 basic teaching: yes-a saved person should do works.

      @@tomjoe81 I love each of those versus but fear they are used incorrectly in order to try and make a point against the teachings of the Catholic Church. When explored in more depth we see it reaffirms the stance of the Catholic Church. Even if we assume that Paul is referring to "good works" when he says we are not saved by works, this interpretation does not conflict with Catholic theology. Notice that the passage in Ephesians 2:8-9 speaks of salvation in the past tense-"you have been saved." In Greek, this is the perfect tense, which indicates a past action that has been completed.
      Paul's writings make it clear that salvation has past, present, and future dimensions. In Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul is discussing *initial* salvation, the kind we received when we first came to God and were justified. This is distinct from the ongoing process of salvation we are experiencing now (cf. 1 Peter 1:8-9, Phil. 2:12) and the final salvation we will receive in the future (cf. Rom. 13:11, 1 Cor. 3:15, 5:5).
      The Catholic Church does not teach that initial justification is earned by good works. One does not need to perform good works in order to come to God and be justified.

      For a more reliable representation of what exactly the Catholic Church teaches on justification I would recommend referencing the Catechism of the Catholic Church Part 3, Chapters 1,2,3. I would caution against declaring any other book (regardless of who wrote it) accurately and fully represent the teachings of the Catholic Church.

      The Catholic Church teaches a WORKS gospel. See John 6:40 if you want to go to heaven!

    After we are saved by the blood of Jesus how are we supposed to live as a Christian. This is the part I am most confused about we aren't under the law so what moral compass are we supposed to follow? I struggle with porn addiction do I have to stop or would stopping be considered a work that sends me to hell.

    • @Itsmichelleb66
      @Itsmichelleb66 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are not to "live as a Christian" in your own strength". Pray about your walk with Christ and about your addiction. As a child of God and reaching out to Him for help, he will help you. Pray to have that desire taken away. All God asked of you is to believe in His Son and that he is God and that he died and rose again. Immerse yourself in the word of God. When urges come up to look at Porn, pray about it. The only thing that will send you to hell is non belief in Jesus and who He is.

      @@Itsmichelleb66. Even the demons believe yet they tremble.
      Faith alone is a false doctrine.
      I have a problem w the last part of your response.
      Professing your faith, or “belief” although essential but it is not “only”.
      I could tell my wife I love her, but if I beat her and cheat…. Then I obviously don’t.
      You could say or profess your faith in Christ but if your actions do not reflect then as James says: Faith without works is dead.
      And no deeds will get you into heaven. However you must cooperate with the grace God gives. Our faith is through Gods grace. Then you must be faithful and follow his commandments. Catholics believe all.
      We also believe grace is a gift you didn’t merit. However, like any gift you must open it. (Free will)
      Faith through Grace backed up by action. Not one single but all.

    The Catholic Church teaches that a person could be invincibly ignorant of Jesus Christ and still be saved. How does your interpretation of scripture address people who do not know Christ through no fault of their own ?

    • @tomjoe81
      @tomjoe81  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Everyone on earth will KNOW: John 12:32 (KJV) (Jesus speaking) “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” AND John 1:9 “That was the true light (Jesus), which lighters every man that cometh into the world.” Have you done the will of God the Father Almighty that he requires to have everlasting life in heaven? See John 6:40. You Only Trust in Jesus for eternal life - not works, service, sacraments, water baptism, etc. YOU MUST do the will of God the Father Almighty - or find another universe.

      @@tomjoe81that’s an absurd assertion, if a young person deep in communist China does not know Jesus Christ through no fault of his own but does the will of God naturally before he dies at a young age, can he be saved through the mercy of God? The Catholic Church, which has the power to bind and loose says that he can. What do you say?

      @tomjoe81  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Please see what the will of God the Father Almighty is for humans to have everlasting life - see John 6:40. John 6:40: no sacraments, no good works, no water baptism, no keeping the commands of Jesus. Do John 6:40 or you will be here: Revelation 20:11-15.

      @@tomjoe81you’ve put yourself in the judgement seat that belongs to Jesus Christ, you’ve sentenced a young man to hell.
      You don’t like the Catholic Church so you’ve set yourself above it.
      You’re looking for the easy way, “I believe in Christ, so I have a guarantee of salvation”. Why should you care about salvation when you’ve already got it so good here on earth as the judge of others?!

    • @tomjoe81
      @tomjoe81  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Please read John 6:40 and believe what it SAYS. The will of God to have everlasting life is to believe on Jesus - there is NO OTHER WAY. If you are trying to get to heaven “another way” - you will not go to heaven when you due. 👍❤️🙏
