Now that's an experiment worthy of getting viral. At a time where bikes got so expensive, and many cycling channels promote pricey kit, this is refreshing to see.
I am SO GLAD that there was one cookie left for you, Ryan! But something tells me that even if there were none left, you still would have had a great ride!
Cool video. I haven't been up to Gold Hill in years. We used to do a loop using the Switzerland Trail and into Gold Hill. But we were on mountain bikes! That was impressive riding up on a cruiser.
"Hi, this is Eddie from Priority. While a Beach Criuser CAN be used to climb 3000ft in 12 miles, we don't recommend that because we aren't insane. Let's look at our lineup of bikes that are good for that."
I am only mentioning my own love of riding to Gold Hill because I can truly say this video nailed it in every way… the beauty, grades, the store. And I really appreciate the effort on that bike, with it’s lowly single gear, and running shoe!? I can see the series unfolding… cruiser to the Ward store, another cruiser ride to the Jamestown Merc for a killer breakfast burrito, cruiser for the best cinnamon roll on the planet at the Glen Haven General Store, then cruiser up Magnolia to the Blue Moon bakery in Ned! Heck, might as well do a Boulder Octopus on the cruiser! No matter what, thank you as always for your energy and your grin.
During a teamed 24-hour race a buddy of mine took his single speed Schwinn cruiser for his first leg. That team member did not do another lap the remainder of the 24 hour race. You're nuts Duzer.
Awesome video Ryan Van Duzer! As it so happens I took a bicycle ride today here in Southern Oregon. One of the towns I went through was Gold Hill Oregon. I am so glad you enjoyed your hard earned chocolate chip cookie 🍪!
reminds me of a ride i made recently to a stall located in a mountainside town 28 km away only to have sayur asem, a javanese sweet and sour vegetable soup. the kind of ride is always the best. 😀
Cool Cookie Ride! Gotta do the spur of moment rides sometimes. Its been raining 4 days straight here in Chico, Nor Cal................on a whim I talked someone else into a rain ride on Mt Bikes. It poured on us, then it rained even harder, water was over a foot deep on the gravel road in upper park in the low spots with water raging thru.....I was soaked 5 minutes from my house. The wind started gusting, that was cold. My Gore Gore-Tex shell worked great! Everything else was water logged. But hey, we got 17 miles in with a climb. I had heated socks on which kept trying to heat up shoes full of water, they kinda did it sometimes.
Well that was a fun video! You should do more like this. My pipe dream would be to live in the house just as you got on dirt road. The view must be awesome
Love this Random Video 🍪 You only had One Cookie ☝️😁.. Gold Hill seems like an Awesome Town.. There’s a Gold Hill in NC.. and it’s one of my Favorite little towns.. I go there for the Gravel Roads & Charming People 🚴♂️😎🌞
We watched on Patreon last night, over dinner. Lookin' Good, Ryan! I'm sure I've told you this, but my mother-in-law grew up in Sunshine Canyon. Next time we're up in Boulder, we'll have to go on a cookie mission.
Yes. It’s sad. Decades ago I lived just north of Mapleton Hill on Concorde. Boulder City gov raised taxes and all the retired folks in the neighborhood who had raised their kids there and looked forward to their golden years in their neighborhoods had to move because while their homes were paid off, they couldn’t afford the taxes on them.
I moved away from Boulder in 1993 and we did many rides up to Gold Hill. I don’t remember the Gold Hill store - was it always open and as vibrant as it looks now?
Dude-zer, I am disappointed that you didn't take Lickskillet road down! ;) jk.....but Congrats on making that hard climb.....BTW, over near your house they opened up the Colbalt trail and the Eagle Bypass at Boulder Valley Ranch. I rode them Saturday they are outstanding. With North Sky, the best in-city MTB in north Boulder.
His cruiser in this video has a fixed gear. You can swap out, not too hard. But if you mean changing gears like a chain/cassette bike, you get a Pinion gearbox like his other Priority bikes have. They shift like a dream. I have a Pinion 12 speed gear box on a different model bike. I absolutely love it.
You get no attack on hills with the cruiser bike...... I have one of those monster Cruisers as a remedy I turned the handle set upside down backwards forward put a bunch of bar ends wrapped it all with white tape until it looked like a Big Red caribou... goes from handicap to Super Attack... was kind of cumbersome but kept it for several years now I just have a straight bar on it looks old timey
My cruiser is nice and light good big seat but a different way to ride and would not be easy up. I struggle with even small Hills in my area but im not strong like duzer 😅
Hey @Ryan Van Duzer, first off, you are (my kind of) nuts. second , do you have any idea when Priority will start selling bikes in the Netherlands? I really woul like to buy either the mountain bike you designed or one of those lovely gravelbikes
I looked up the KOM on Strava - it’s 47 minutes! It takes me about 2 hours these days, and I’m slow. But it is so beautiful and the store is as advertised. You get up there and feel like you accomplished something. And then have their soup of the day. Life is good. Also, the dirt road connecting Gold Hill to Lefthand Canyon is called Lickskillet Road - short, but 21% grade. Another fun way to get up there…
Have you ever thought about getting one of the standup bikes there’s a guy in England, who rides one up mountains and stuff all the time can’t remember the name of this page
Your comment stopped me about if you get a Whole Lot of Viral Hits on TH-cam you could buy a house on Mapleton Street. The law of attraction would say you are LIMITing yourself by. only believing the only way you could own a home on that street is the viral hits. Let God decide how to make your dream come true. Just ASK.
That must have been one hell of a ride down hill.🫣
No gloves???
Love these day adventure videos that you do. Awesome to see the sights and the Gold Hill Store. Must visit!
Now that's an experiment worthy of getting viral. At a time where bikes got so expensive, and many cycling channels promote pricey kit, this is refreshing to see.
There’s a little store in silverton Colorado that has awesome funnel cakes, it’s a bit further from Boulder but if you’re in the area check it out!
This is the kind of adventure I'm here for! So much fun!
I just biked up to Gold Hill yesterday for a cookie … and yes, it was definitely worth it
I am SO GLAD that there was one cookie left for you, Ryan! But something tells me that even if there were none left, you still would have had a great ride!
Cool video. I haven't been up to Gold Hill in years. We used to do a loop using the Switzerland Trail and into Gold Hill. But we were on mountain bikes! That was impressive riding up on a cruiser.
Its always fun to do something familiar in a unfamiliar way, turns it into an adventure, well done 👏
Ohhhh now I need to find a cookie place worth biking to! COOOOKIEEEEE!!!!! 🍪
Thanks for taking us along for the ride, Duzer. Lovely little review of a place close to your heart. Would love to see more of Boulder's hidden gems.
Totally. He’s the one to do it.
Takes Cookie Monster To A Whole New Level - Way Cool
Go Team Duzer ,
Cheers
Duzer IS the Cookie Monster.
Love how you keep your sunglasses in your pantry.
A mini-video gem. Well done.
My favorite ride. I prefer 4 mile side, but Sunshine is a butt kicker. I agree the cookies are amazing.
@@markflolid5930I like the Four Mile side a bit more too, but lately the washboard on the way down SUCKS.
The Duzer Cruiser Rules!! What nice trip, Great share Brother!!
Fun video and I agree, that Mapleton Street looked beautiful.
The fact that there was only one cookie makes it funny to go all the way there 😂 but it looks beautiful and fun
I'm Sure they saved one for him Lol
What if all the cookies sold out?
@@comounaverdura I'm sure he called ahead to have them save one for his show 😄
"Hi, this is Eddie from Priority. While a Beach Criuser CAN be used to climb 3000ft in 12 miles, we don't recommend that because we aren't insane. Let's look at our lineup of bikes that are good for that."
Classic
yeah no joke. Ryan has a little bit of crazy and the right bit of humor to take this on.
Thanks! For chocolate cookies

This is the content I sub for, right here.
Cookie Cruze! The Banning House Lodge on Catalina Island has some fantastic chocolate chip cookies too.
Walking is my lowest gear-I use it often!
That looked like a Surly Wednesday outside that store. That's my latest ride I use to get up the hills here in Cyprus😊
Thanks for the pep talk coach how did you know I'm struggling with inertia
During a teamed 24-hour race a buddy of mine took his single speed Schwinn cruiser for his first leg. That team member did not do another lap the remainder of the 24 hour race. You're nuts Duzer.
Hi Ryan, I have a suggestion for an adventure video, try doing a long trip on the bicycle without using any maps! Keep the phone just for emergencies.
Thanks for the smile 😀
Fun (and crazy) idea!
I think was the most you’ve show off your new house
I love it
He is Ryan van duzer...climb with cruser bike ...make more video like this man
Really enjoyed this cookie cruzer episode. Nice !
Cruuuuuzing, heck yeah!
Definitely the Doozer cruiser!
Awesome video Ryan Van Duzer! As it so happens I took a bicycle ride today here in Southern Oregon. One of the towns I went through was Gold Hill Oregon. I am so glad you enjoyed your hard earned chocolate chip cookie 🍪!
Damn Ryan, my knees hurt from watching that video!
reminds me of a ride i made recently to a stall located in a mountainside town 28 km away only to have sayur asem, a javanese sweet and sour vegetable soup. the kind of ride is always the best. 😀
All bikes need to be ridden.🚲♥
Pretty sure anything can be done with that helmet on😂😂😂 well done! Its got the Easy Rider vibe…
Love that video! Thanks!
The Gold Hill chocolate chip cookies are legit!
Luv the music, bro!
The music selection too good. Just right.
Why take the easy way up . Makes for a challenging adventure.
What's a Duzer Cruise without pain and suffering. LOL The downhill was worth it I bet. :) :)
Ha ha ha. What a funny video. I loved it. How far would you ride for beans?
Mexico 😂🌯🇲🇽
Cool Cookie Ride! Gotta do the spur of moment rides sometimes.

Excellent choice of bike Ryan😂What an incredible place you live😊
You're becoming the Jay Leno of bikes
Except double-flannel instead of double-denim! 😂
Well that was a fun video! You should do more like this.
My pipe dream would be to live in the house just as you got on dirt road. The view must be awesome
Fun video. A challenge for sure. I have a group I ride with that will sometimes have a bakery destination
😋🍪
You have an enviable collection of bikes.
Mmmm love a good salted chocolate chip cookie!!
Movie flashbacks to "EASY RIDER" and "FORREST GUMP".....life is like a chocolate chip cookie.....crazy duzer strikes again...
Love this Random Video 🍪

Would of loved to see the return flight in full, bugga
Seriously impressive, one gear cruizer🏆💪🏆
☮️
Baby shark 🦈 love's Gold Hill Let it rip! That's a Bear 🐻 shout out. Would have liked to see some of the downhill adventure!
Weeeeeeeeeee!!! Looked so fun and challenging😅😊!! Thanks for the video!!
I would live in Boulder but too expensive 😢 I have to stay more south but we have our own beauty 😊
Yes.
Awesome!
You're an ANIMAL !!!
I’ve done that ride, but usually in the lowest gears on my mountain bike. You’re a little bit nuts!
I moved away from Boulder in 1993 and we did many rides up to Gold Hill. I don’t remember the Gold Hill store - was it always open and as vibrant as it looks now?
It's so Old the building probably had a few things over the years
They’ve definitely upped their game the past 15 years, as has the Ward store and the Jamestown Merc, as far as welcoming cyclists.
This how i felt doing the climb into Pahrump with my 80lb trailer 😮😂 but we are ditching the trailer and going traditional pan niers
Dude-zer, I am disappointed that you didn't take Lickskillet road down! ;) jk.....but Congrats on making that hard climb.....BTW, over near your house they opened up the Colbalt trail and the Eagle Bypass at Boulder Valley Ranch. I would have died if they were out of cookies. Although, I bet they would have made one just for you! The sea salt on top...😋 Yum!
This is awesome 👍. And the payoff is COOKIE!!! 🍪
Pretty ride. How hard is it to change the gear ratio with a belt drive?
His cruiser in this video has a fixed gear. You can swap out, not too hard. But if you mean changing gears like a chain/cassette bike, you get a Pinion gearbox like his other Priority bikes have. They shift like a dream. I have a Pinion 12 speed gear box on a different model bike. I absolutely love it.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Your videos are a real role model.🤸🍹🏏

Do Nederland next
I vote Ned, Ward, Jamestown and Glen Haven (insane cinnamon rolls).
The epitome of under biking!!
Your going to need a new chain after that 😊
🙏🏻
I love single speeding ❤
Zigzagging works but it makes the trip longer..., hehehe also tough to do on a cruiser
My cruiser is nice and light good big seat but a different way to ride and would not be easy up. I struggle with even small Hills in my area but im not strong like duzer 😅
Cruiser Duzer
Hey @Ryan Van Duzer, first off, you are (my kind of) nuts. second , do you have any idea when Priority will start selling bikes in the Netherlands? I really woul like to buy either the mountain bike you designed or one of those lovely gravelbikes
OMG you are so very Colorado😂
LOL trumpet lessons
Sooo cool. How long going up how long going down?
I don't know how long he took, but I Google Mapped the bike route from Boulder to Gold Hill, and it's 2h15m going up and 56m going down!
I looked up the KOM on Strava - it’s 47 minutes! It takes me about 2 hours these days, and I’m slow. But it is so beautiful and the store is as advertised. Love my stand up bike. Very good workout. I have one of the old Bionic Runner. No longer in production. Use it as a recovery tool.
you must have wanted that kookie real bad
I don't believe we can do single gear bikes again, they are designed for flat roads only.
poor design. i owned one. not enough gearing. Is this a good ragbrai bike?
Why do you punish yourself like this? You need a 1,000 Watt mountain e bike for this journey.
First? 😅
