Wow. This brings back memories for me. When I was a kid in middle school, I think it was 6th grade, I got my first big boy bike. It was a 10-speed with drop handles. My father and I put it together in his garage (parents were divorced), and it was from Sears if I remember correctly. I had so much fun on it, with the gearing and getting to ride it all over, including riding in some races with it around downtown Dallas (TX) in the early 80s. Lots of good memories, and makes me excited about considering my next bike to be another drop tube bike. You're right, that you have so many varieties of hand positions on the drop tubes that gives you a chance to get out of a certain seating position and change it up to find relief on the long rides. It's not as much of a need for the electronic shifting, but the pinion gearing and gates belt drive is the winner. And having a simple drivetrain with nothing but the pinion cleans up the bike, keeps all the gears close to the crank. Looks nice!
Man, you scared the bejeebus out of me with this. I was like NOOOOO, don't go electronic shifting... Ahhh, they still have the non-electronic version. Thank you :)
@@christopherjacquez8605 I have yet to become a fan and I don't think I will anytime soon. I've had issues with both SRAM & Shimano on road bikes and miserable experience on a Cyclocross bike. Bumpy terrain, horrible weather...yeah give me that mechanical setup :)

I like the Di2 lectric shifting on my roadbike, its not what I would call a deal breaker having it, but it is cool. It goes right around 800 miles before it needs a battery charge, that's a fair amount of flat group rides, with some good climbs also. Glad to see you review this model! I just pulled the trigger on one, and waiting for it to arrive. One question is do you use fenders or mud guards? Judging from your videos, my guess is no... LOL. Do you have any suggestions on locks/chains or fenders/mudguards for this model? Thank you! :)
Perfect timing. I’m currently looking exactly for a bike like this for the gravel rides here. Currently I just show up to my local gravel rides on my still almost loaded (with bags but not gear) bikepacking mtb. 😂 I’ll keep an eye out for priority for Black Friday or other deals.
@@duzer Of course I love the cruiser too. I used to ride a sweet used cruiser I picked up online around my ol town Eugene on the bike paths there for art walks, trips to the library, with my ol dog Bella by my side. It had a basket on the handlebars, pedaled backward to stop, and oh the wide handlebars! It felt so amazing! If space weren't an issue, I'd love to rock a Colorado themed cruiser in honor of my home state.
For me, electronic shifting takes away the freedom from riding a bike whenever I want. I always have to think about "is my bike charged?" :D But apart of that it is a good looking bike.
I ride mine with zero battery anxiety and just set a reminder to charge it on the first of every month. I've yet to get it below 85% battery. You don't have to worry about it.
Hi Ryan I really like this bike! The 275lb weight limit is a concern. Is it low due to the sliding dropout for gate belt installation weakening the frame to a degree?
Always great videos Ryan .. priority are making some fantastic bikepacking bikes .. unfortunately shipping makes it too expensive for me in New Zealand.. I can still dream !!! Keep doing it duzer.. awesome content
You are f'ing Ryan Van Duzer! How did they not give you a titanium bike? Come on Priority, what's up with this? Electric shifting looks cool. I'd only forget to charge it, so I'll stick with mechanical since my fingers never require recharging.
It must be fun being involved in bike design. My priority in choosing my first very expensive bike was robustness and resilience, so after many hours of research and procrastinating I chose steel over carbon or alloy or titanium and a fully ridged mountain bike over a hard tail. As a non-racer speed was not my priority. I chose 3-by to get the maximum range in gearing possible so I could cycle fully loaded up 15% roads because I couldn't stretch to the cost of the world famous internal gear box and because I was a beginner. As a beginner I had the dilemma of not knowing if I would wish to continue cycling after the first year of longer distance cycling and now as an intermediate cyclist I wish to get many years out of my investment in my first very expensive bike. My purpose for cycling is my health and adventure, so electronic shifting to me might be something that is more likely to go wrong than manual shifters or is more difficult to fix if it goes wrong. For the same reasons I prefer mechanical breaks over hydraulic breaks. I am mechanically and electronically incompetent. But for a locally used bike that is never more than a day from home this would be less of a concern for me. My goal was to have a bike I could if I wished use to cycle across continents or round the world using a mix of road and off-road keeping both tyres firmly on the ground and in places where new technologies might not be readily available. It looks like a great bike for a day or two gravel biking with a home base. My immediate thoughts as a follower of bike-packing and endurance cycling was the possibility of battery failure in low temperatures and that many endurance off road racers might prefer the option of 50mm tyres to do routes such as the great divide where most cyclists would choose a mountain bike but racers want speed.
Great video. Do you know whether any thought has been given to adding a solar rechargeable component to have virtually limitless range on the pinion gearbox?
The small movement of the shifters makes it so much easier to fit a handlebar bag. I'm so frustrated with the huge movement required by my Shimano 105 shifters
