"Bismarck - Battle of the Atlantic - Sabaton History 012 [Official]" th-cam.com/video/r5D3wSqdIG4/w-d-xo.html Sabaton also has Huge history channel, in witch goes through the material and happenings that made the composition.
Done, both subscribed and liked! :) Thank you for your reaction! Sabaton is from Sweden (and so am I). Kriegsmarine was the name of the German navy during WW II. I think the direct translation is Krieg = War, marine = navy, so "War navy". You know, Sabaton is my no. 1 favorite band and that is not because we are from the same country. The have an amazing list of songs. If I had to choose just 3 to recommend to you it would be: - No Bullets Fly (Animated Story Video) - En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) - OBS turn on English subtitles. - Christmas Truce (Official Music Video) Edit: I have to recommend more videos, three can never be enough... so.. here goes: - Night Witches (Animated Story Video) - Lady of the Dark (Animated Story Video) - Father (Official Lyric Video) - Stormtroopers (Animated Music Video) Br //M
Hello. Lovley reaction as always 😊👍 I got an idea of what you should do if you feel like it! And that is to react to all Sabaton's songs in all the albums they have! What I mean is to go all in with Sabaton, Even if it will take time as you react to other music too!😊 But it makes absolutely nothing if it will take time if you decide to do this journey! I am sure you would have loved it and not regretted it! 😉 I want to recommend songs to you!😎 You can skip the ones you have already reacted to if you want! The valley of death Dreadnought Soldier of heaven Stormtroopers Steel commanders Kingdom come Defense of Moscow Fields of verdun A ghost in the trenches Great war official video Devil dogs 82nd all the way Seven pillars of wisdom All guns blazing The last battle Shiroyama 7734 Man of war Hearts of iron Killing ground The Carolean's Prayer Long live the king Metal ripper White death Coat of arms The final solution The price of a mile Cliffs of Gallipoli Metal Crüe Nightchild Back in control In the name of god Metal machine Purple heart Wolf pack Remember that it's perfectly okay to show emotions and cry when listening to music in reaction videos, etc. I love your channel ❤️ Sabaton has been my favorite band since they were formed 1999 in Falun here in Sweden!🇸🇪 Warm and kind greetings from a big Sabaton fan in northern Sweden (Västerbotten) 😎🇸🇪🇸🇪😎
Welcome to Sabaton Army/Family! 😎 Those songs I suggested are from different albums with Sabaton! You don't have to react to the songs you've already reacted to, unless you want to of course! You decide! It should be fairly easy to find each album with accompanying songs on either TH-cam or Spotify! TH-cam should have all the videos for all Sabaton's songs! Animated, official videos etc! If you need help/tips, There are many of us in the comment field who can help you if you need help during this journey 😊 It will be very interesting to see and hear what you think of all their songs! If you do this journey!😊 And then when all the albums are finished, Please tell us which is your favorite album!😊🙏 Sabaton is also working on a new album! 😊 Warm and friendly greetings from Johan and Sweden 😎🇸🇪🇸🇪😎
Oh girl, you are in for a treat... Great reaction. Sabaton is a band not only with fantastic music and awesome videos, but they tell great and true stories, mostly history and war related. But they don't glorify war and they (mostly) don't take sides. Their stories are about bravery and humanity in the oddest of times. I would recommend 'No Bullets Fly' (Animated Story Video) next, but bring tissues, you'll need them...
Kriegsmarine is the name of the German navy during the world wars. Sabaton is one of the few bands that manages to get crowds to sing along to songs about the heroes of (former) enemies. Sabaton even has its own history channel, which takes a closer look at the stories behind the songs and their background. Some say that Sabaton glorifies war, but I see it a little differently. They have songs that illustrate the suffering of the warriors, the soldiers, the resistance fighters and also the horror of war. But they also sing about the often unknown heroes, whose stories, their struggles and their suffering and what it cost them are all too often forgotten by posterity. And there are songs that tell stories of humanity and compassion during the horror of war.
Indeed, Sabaton don't glorify war to me, they are making sure through song that history is not so easily forgotten. Christmas Truce to me is the perfect example of that.....moments of humanity in times of utter madness.
Slight correction, the Kreigsmarine was the German Navy of World War 2, when the Nazis were in power. In WWI it was the Imperial German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine).
@@jamesmccrea4871 that´s correct .... However, the term "Kriegsmarine" was not uncommon in common parlance even in the imperial era, just to distinguish it from the "merchant navy" (Handelsmarine)
A rabbit hole… you are certainly right there! Other videos of Sabaton you need to watch: No bullets fly Christmas Truce Night Witches Lady of the dark 1916 Sabaton“s songs are about true historical stories from wartime that should not be forgotten. For example, if you watch the Bismarck video again, pay close attention to the golden pocket watch (or compass; I am not sure there). It is both there in the present, where the boat‘s captain looks at it, and in the past, where the dying captain of the Bismarck engraves the last coordinates of the ship in there and gives it to the sailor that survives and is picked up by the British. This story actually happened; the captain of the boat the band recorded the video on is the son of the surviving German sailor. PS: When you watch Christmas Truce, watch and listen the video to the very end! If you want to know who is singing during the credits, the answer is close to the end of the credits. ;-)
Definitely 100% have to listen to absolute end of Christmas Truce 😉 And for another that kicks definitely Night Witches..... worth a Google of the history behind the song too.
great reaction, more Sabaton please. Sabaton is a Swedish band with a loooong list of history based music. Sabaton also has an award winning history channel that gives background to over 120 if their songs (not music award, academic, aimed at education of the public) . Sabaton videos are often have dedications and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but... watching to the very end is frequently well worth it. Animated STORY videos (short Animated history lessons with music videos in them) No bullets fly, enemy showing mercy to injured aircrew in a nearly wrecked aircraft barely still flying, even escorting them to safety. Night witches, Young (17-28) female bomber pilots in ww2 fighting the Nazi despite the discrimination they faced and being given obsolete equipment, aircraft ... Lady of the dark, female fighting alongside men during ww1 and being highly respected and even more decorated. Red baron, the famous fighter pilot of ww1 first soldier, unlikely French hero in ww1. Epic ORIGINAL videos. Youjustsaw Bismark, about the sinking of the ship Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914 40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939 (with odds actually close to 55:1 they held for 3 DAYS when ammunition and supplies ran out. Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising against the nazi germans during 1944. To hell and back, they tell the story of Audie Murphy (highly decorated) and his struggle AFTER the war, so about PTSD and drug addiction that returning soldiers can face. Fields of verdun, the 300+ day long battle fought there. Price of a mile, about the battle of Passchendaele Screaming Eagles, about the battle of the bulge Live performances 40:1 from poland Uprising from poland En livstid I krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles) , very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war. Two covers that are good Defence of Moscow, self explained 1916 about the devastating battle of the somme in ww1, casualties topped 1 milion if you count both sides, all for 6 miles of ground, these are just some, there are plenty more.
Oh you will shed so many tears with this band. pay attention to the comments under your video :) Nightwish Army Northern Germany greets the Sabaton family. we love you
Nightwish Army Australian Division here. I completely agree the stories behind so many of there songs are heartbreaking. Of course as an Aussie, Gallipoli tugs at the heart especially.
Christmas Truce is a big hit and probably one the the best music videos you'll ever see, (and you'll enjoy a guest vocalist at the end), primo victoria is definitely worth checking out, and Cliffs of Gallipoli holds a special place in my heart.
Sabaton are from Sweden. Formed in 1999, most of their songs are about Military History. A sabaton is the footpiece in a medieval suit of armor. Lead singer Joakim Broden and bassist par Sundstrom are the primary songwriters, and only original members left. Also seen here are current members Hannes van Dahl on drums (Floor's hubby), and guitarist Chris Rorland. And former member guitarist Tommy Johansson. Tommy left earlier this year, being replace by returning guitarist Thobbe Englund. 10 albums to date, they are currently touring in North America, opening for Judas Priest. "Bismarck was a 2019 stand alone single, made in conjunction with Wargaming, the company that makes the World of Warships game, which is why the graphics were so good in this video. The name painted on the boat they went out in was 'Primo Victoria', the name of theit 1st album released, the title track about D-Day at Normandy. The Capt. of that boat is the son of the last survivor of the battleship Bismarck, who had passed the year before. Yes, Bismarck was a German battleship, the largest class ever built in Europe, it went down in 1941 after battling with the British navy. Over 2200 onboard, 114 survived. Bismarck had previously sunk the British battlecruiser HMS Hood, of her 1418 men onboard only 3 survived.
If you ever get the chance you have to see them in concert. They're awesome, so many great songs and they have a great sense of humour. I'm a 64 yr old Londoner and I can honestly say it was the best concert I've ever been to - Wembley 2023.
one quick thing with Sabaton, always watch the full video to the end. there's always something extra buried in the end somewhere (even if it's buried in the credits 😉) Have a look at Christmas Truce for your next one, your gonna be impressed
the best history teachers out there, most of their songs are based on historical events and people... their history channel here on TH-cam us a great resource for information about the songs historical background and bit on how and why they made the song
I can highly recommend the following songs by Sabaton: Christmas Truce, 1916, Attack of the Dead Men, and No Bullets Fly. With all Sabaton vids, make sure you watch all the way to the end as there is usually some extra info and/or guest performances
Band is from Sweden. If you want to see more of Hannes (Mr. Floor Jansen) who is barely visible at all in this video, then you will want to check out "Christmas Truce." He is the principal actor in the official vid. Tall blonde guy (taller than Floor) who plays the hero character, first brave one out of the trenches to initiate the truce in No Man's Land.
This powerhouse of metal. Greatest dual meaning ever! Both Bismarck and Sabaton fits that. Great reaction as always. Love your energy and enthusiasm. As you discover metal, I’d LOVE to see you experience Ayreon, «the day the World ends». Maybe the greatest colection om metal power ever. Or my personal favourite, Avantasia with « The Raven Child». Keep em coming Lanae!
You say they look badass and intimidating, but by all accounts these guys are total goofy nerds, and I love them for it! My personal favorites of theirs are No Bullets Fly, Night Witches, Christmas Truce, and there’s one about the red baron I can’t remember the title of off hand… (shame on me!) ETA: I’m a total dingus. The song is literally titled “The Red Baron” XD
Not only have you found one of the most inspirational bands there is, you also have the guitarist Tommy Johannsson (Tommy J) Just wait until you hear how talented he is as well. Listen to his Gary Moore tributes, Abba songs etc. it will blow your mind!
Bismark, Fields of Verdun, 40 to 1, Primo Victoria, Winged Hussars, and To Hell and Back are among my favorite, in no particular order. Got to go see them live and it was an absolute blast
Hi Lanae! You already know that Floor is married to Hannes van Dahl. He became a member of Sabaton in november 2013. There is a hilarious video of him at that time as he did a drum tryout session for Sabaton, also explaining his name. Normally he has blond hair but at that time he had dyed it black. "Sabaton Swedish Empire Tour #71- Drum tryout session Hannes van Dahl". Enjoy!
Lots of great trivia nuggets about this ship and its demise. One of my favorite tidbits is it's 15 inch guns could lob a near 2,000 pound shell over 20 miles. And it had 8 of those. Lastly the British Navy fired over 2,800 shells at the Bismarck hitting her over 400 times. Imagine being on the Bismarck when all that shelling was coming in.
Great reaction! I’m a former Army attack helicopter pilot with combat experience (101st Airborne)…the men from back then were hard core! React to their song, “No Bullets Fly”…I actually experienced that situation…
Sabaton is a Swedish metal band and they have a historic background to their songs that you can read about. They even have a history channel where they break down the history behind the songs. After this you should listen to The Christmas truce, The Last stand, No bullets fly (animated), and here you get the history in and at the end of the song, Night witches, Lady of the dark, and 1916. And read about the history behind the songs first so you get the background to the songs! You get a history lesson.❤
Great reaction Lanae, as always. As others have said, welcome to yet another rabbit hole. I saw Sabaton in Salt Lake City in 2022. Fantastic show. You should know that the lead guitarist here, Tommy Johansson, recently left the band to pursue his own interests. Not sure if that had anything to do with his individual success on TH-cam, but his channel is worth checking out. Most of his content is metal-adapted covers, which are excellent. He has an amazing voice, buttery smooth down lower, with the ability to reach high belting notes few male vocalists can match. He is kind of a one-man band, playing a lot of the instruments in his videos himself. For a starting point, I recommend his cover of Steel Heart's "She's Gone". Warning, yet another rabbit hole.🙂
you have to listen to no bullets fly and christmas truce. if you have this much emotion for this song, those ones will blow you away. not sure if you know this, but all their songs are based off true stories. these 2 songs hit hard
1916, Christmas truce, animated story no bullets fly, and night witches. Soldier of heaven, en livstid i krig. All great song you love. The first 2 might make you cry.
Yes! YOU get it! -Sabaton is Swedish -do Stormtroopers next -I saw them live two weeks ago. Definitely epic but they also don't take themselves too seriously. Joakim was presented with a Hello Kitty guitar.
Bismark and his brother Tirpitz were absolute monsters of the Sea. 40% of their displacement was dedicated to the armor belts, more than any other warship in history. The ship had two major flaws though. First when they first fired the main batteries it damaged their radar system to the point of being useless. Secondly there was a known flaw with the rudders that if they took a direct hit they would get jammed. Ironically what crippled the ship was exactly that, when a British torpedo from a Swordfish torpedo plane (the bi-plane) struck the rudders, jammed them, and the ship was stuck in a slow turn. Because of that the British fleet was able to catch up to Bismark and shelled it to the point that much of the ship caught fire, and the hull heated up so much that sea water at the water-line started boiling. Even then the ship refused to sink. The captain eventually gave the order to abandon ship, and scuttled the vessel with pre-set explosive charges set to flood the ship in order to prevent it from being captured as a war prize. It currently rests at a depth of 15,000 feet on the Abyssal Porcupine Plain of the eastern Atlantic Ocean, taking with it all but 114 of its 2,200 crewmen.
Hello there and welcome aboard, as it were, from the middle of Canada! I love your delighted smile (they do that to me, too) and can't wait to see more Sabaton reactions. May I suggest ANY of their animated story videos that they've made with a group called Yarnhub: The First Soldier; Lady of the Dark; Night Witches; No Bullets Fly; The Red Baron. (fellow fans, did I miss any?) Those provide additional story and context which make the songs hit even harder. Also, do check out any of their live-action videos. These guys are the world's coolest history teachers!
1916 is good lady of the dark, night witches, attack of the dead men the last battle. They are Swedish and all their songs are based on historical events and people. A little side note they are on tour with Judas Priest and I will be seeing them in Phoenix in a couple of weeks 2nd row from the stage.
I love your reaction! It's so right to show the emotions like you did watching this vid. I love your comments. I have goosebumps too every time I watch it :-) And I also feel this power. I 've just noticed that you've seen a few of their songs. I'm going to see these your Sabaton reactions soon. It's so pleasant to see your reaction. Liked and subscribed 🙂
I have no idea WHY, but this song is always the first Sabaton song for all pple they never heard this band. Welcome to the journey ;) I hope we get more 😘
History lesson in a metal video. Should be shown at schools. Their boat, "Primo Victoria", is the name of another of their songs - worth a look LIVE!. Recommend the animated "Night Witches" and "No Bullets Fly" videos! The guys froze making this video. Joakim, the singer, was probably bashing his leg to make sure it was still there! KMS Bismarck - "2,000 men and 50,000 tonnes of steel"! Prinz Eugen, a heavy cruiser, was with Bismarck and escaped the Royal Navy - after WW2, as USS Prinz Eugen, it took months of neglect, TWO NUKES, and more months of neglect before he sank! The German's made tough ships! Just after this battle my Dad in the RAN chased KMS Scheer - lucky for me and him they did not catch him that time! My Dad was denied the Atlantic Star, medal, because he crossed the International Date Line 24 hours too soon!
It's definitely a rabbit hole. Screaming Eagles Christmas Truce 1916 No Bullets Fly Red Barron Versailles In no order in particular, more pertinent, the band actually has 2 channels on YT one is the music videos. The second is the history behind the song. So listen to the song, learn the history, then rewatch with the appropriate awe for exactly how brilliant the writing is.
a few of my favs devil dogs (historical version) screaming eagles no bullets fly christmas truce primo victoria ..... side note this song and bismark the videos where made with the help of a small video game company they have a couple games out you might have heard of them world of warships and tanks
Thanks for sharing your reaction to this Sabaton song. For me, this is their best song in the original Swedish language: SABATON - Carolus Rex (Live - The Great Tour - Stockholm) It also features the Finnish cello metal band Apocalyptica & has English subtitles as closed captions.
Great reaction Lanae. I can only concur with what my fellow Sabatonians have recommended. However, I'd like to add, Sabaton have their own TH-cam channel called Sabaton History. On there you'll find in depth detail about the songs they do from a historical angle. Well worth checking out IMHO.
In the 90s, James Cameron dived to the wreck of the Bismarck, which lies over 4,000 meters deep on the slopes of an underwater volcano. The battleship hit the seabed with such force that a 50 meter deep crater formed (the Bismarck itself weighed around 55,000 tons, plus the water that was already in the ship, which was around 100,000 tons). It then slid around 2 km down along the volcano, digging a furrow that was 50 meters wide and 20 meters deep until it came to rest in its current position. Even though it is a wreck, the pictures of the ship in the eternal darkness of the deep sea are impressive. The wreck is the grave of over 2000 sailors who went down with her (only 115 men survived). Her equally powerful opponent, whom she sank just a few days before her own sinking, the Hood exploded before she sank and sank in two parts, of which almost only rubble remains on the seabed today (the Hood is the sailor's grave of 1412 sailors, only 3 survived). There is a documentary by James Cameron where you can see all of this.
Sabaton - Christmas truce. Official music video. NOT the animated video. A true story about the truce between Germany and the allies 1914. Video is amazing. AND for the love of whatever, listen through the credits. An Easter egg that can't be ignored
Welcome to yet another great rabbit hole. Kriegsmarine translates as War Navy The name Germany used for its navy during the world wars. They used Luftwaffe (Air weapon) for their airforce. Heer translates as Army. All part of the Wehrmacht meaning defense forces. Sabaton is also very good live. Especially anything from then at Woodstock in Poland. Uprising is one of my favorites. Just search for Uprising Live official video, it's bound to be that concert
Sabaton = Valor Metal. I must recommend the 1960 Movie "Sink the Bismarck" to learn more of the Battle of the Atlantic, it was one of my inspirations to enlist in the USN in 1984. Kreigsmarine is the German Navy. I wish to suggest '82nd all the Way' about Sgt York, Medal of Honor winner from WW1. This ain't a rabbit hole, it's an entrenchment.
Many of their videos have a companion background including Bismark. Look for sabaton history and you will get a great breakdown of the Bismark and it's significance in WWII. Kriegsmarine was what the German navy was called during WWII. Wolfpack is a great song also revolving around the German Navy but has not video unfortunately. No bullets fly is another great two punch with music video and history video, a spectacular story as well.
Sorry for this Wall of text :) In the beginning of the Video, you can hear the Radio in the beginning, when the are driving is talking about How the Bismarck have blown the "The might cruiser Hood" That lead to the British Navy got the message that Bismarck must be destroyed at all costs and lead to Battle of The Denmark Strait. The Kriegsmarine was Nazi Germanys Navy. The Video was made with help from the company behind "World of Tanks" that needed some material to their game "World of Warships". And yes Sabaton really played on a boat in the "middle of nowhere".
"From Wiki" (just a short version). In the course of the warship's eight-month career under its sole commanding officer, Captain Ernst Lindemann, Bismarck conducted only one offensive operation, lasting 8 days in May 1941, codenamed Rheinübung. The ship, along with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, was to break into the Atlantic Ocean and raid Allied shipping from North America to Great Britain. The two ships were detected several times off Scandinavia, and British naval units were deployed to block their route. At the Battle of the Denmark Strait, the battlecruiser HMS Hood initially engaged Prinz Eugen, probably by mistake, while HMS Prince of Wales engaged Bismarck. In the ensuing battle Hood was destroyed by the combined fire of Bismarck and Prinz Eugen, which then damaged Prince of Wales and forced her retreat. Bismarck suffered sufficient damage from three hits to force an end to the raiding mission. The destruction of Hood spurred a relentless pursuit by the Royal Navy involving dozens of warships. Two days later, heading for occupied France to effect repairs, Bismarck was attacked by 16 obsolescent Fairey Swordfish biplane torpedo bombers from the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal; one scored a hit that rendered the battleship's steering gear inoperable. In her final battle the following morning, the already-crippled Bismarck was severely damaged during a sustained engagement with two British battleships and two heavy cruisers, was scuttled by her crew, and sank with heavy loss of life. Most experts agree that the battle damage would have caused her to sink eventually. The wreck was located in June 1989 by Robert Ballard, and has since been further surveyed by several other expeditions.. I'm sure others have or will mention it, but I'll say it anyway. Sabaton have a History Channel, where they have an American Historian by the name of Indy Neidell, who is an amazing storyteller, and they (Indy and one of the Sabaton guys talks about the event in their Songs. It varies who it is but usual it either Joakim(Vocalist) or Pär (the Bassist). The link to the one from "Bismarck" is here th-cam.com/video/r5D3wSqdIG4/w-d-xo.html
Finally! Welcome to the next Rabbit Hole. When reacting or watching Sabaton videos, make sure to search for any Animated Story Videos where available, as that gives both the background story about the event and often some easter eggs at the end. Floor's husband is Hannes Van Dahl and he plays the drums. The guitarist that made the solo in the song is Tommy Johansson and he has been with the band for over 7 years but has recently departed from the band to focus on his own old band, Majestica. He also delivers covers of famous songs in vastly different genres in his own style - he is a MARVELOUS singer as well as guitar player, keyboard player, drummer etc etc. It's a must to watch several of his cover that he normally releases every Friday on his channel. The Kriegsmarine is what the German navy is called. Sabaton pays tribute to all of the brave men and women who fought valiantly for their countries. Sabaton is a Swedish band.
I see a great reaction from someone, enjoying a song from my favourite metal guys, I subscribe.. that is the rule! There are TONS of songs, I could recommend for a reaction.. Sabaton is one of the few bands I listen to, that imo opinion does not have a bad song.. stronger and weaker ones, yes, but not a really bad one... being a fan for over 20 years, it is hard to suggest just a few good ones, but I'll try, including some hidden gems, imo. Some of the most famous and iconic songs would be "Ghost Division" (live from Woodstock) , Uprising (live from Woodstock), Winged Hussars, and by now Christmas Truce (official video) .. I'd like to add though: Heart of Iron (official lyric video), Cliffs of Gallipoli, Price of a Mile, and from the newer albums Red Baron (Live from Berlin) and Valley of Death. Greetings from a Sabaton fan from Germany, keep up with the good stuff!
When you watch Sabaton, ALWAYS watch their official Music Videos OR AAnimated Music Videos first BEFORE any live shows. THEN, watch some of their live performances! Also, best to have lyrics pulled up just in case.
A bit of historical context: Bismarck (or rather, the Bismarck-Class, as i'm not sure if Bismarck's Sister Tirpitz didn't end up slightly bigger) is the biggest Battleship ever built in Europe. In terms of Battleship size it's only beaten by the USA's Iowa Class and Japan's Yamato Class, though a few Aircraft Carriers were/are also bigger. Kriegsmarine was the name of the navy of Germany from 1935-1947 (realistically only till 1945, but iirc the minesweeping after the war was still technically conducted by elements of the Kriegsmarine). It's literally "War Navy" in German (as opposed to a Merchant Navy).
Personally I would have said the last stand, the winged hassars, no bullets fly, solider of heaven, primo Victoria, lost battalion, ooo actually first would probably be ghost division not got the polish of some of there newer stuff but exultant intro and would also use that to introduce Minniva she dose so well with the covers of Sabaton and u can imagine how difficult it is for a female voice to get that same power and impact while keeping the feel and tone of songs like this and not come across as masculine minniva manages it she has done lots of others amazing covers as well
Check out their channel, Sabaton History. They explain the stories behind the songs. If no one else told you, Floor Jansen is married to the drummer for Sabaton.
Welllll, to name a few that I definitely love: Fields of Verdun The Unkillable Soldier Great War Long Live The King Carolus Rex (English Version) The Lion From The North Panzer Battalion
Sabatons songs are mostly about historical events that happened throughout the world wars. Another song. Their live show with "En livstid i krig" Better turn on subtitles for that one.
Sabaton has another channel on TH-cam called Sabaton History where famous historian and friend of the band Indy Neidell guest speaks and gives in depth history lessons based on the content of Sabaton's songs which are based on world history (more specifically military and war). So after listening to a Sabaton song, go to Sabaton History and do a reaction to the corresponding history video 😊.
To 7:40 and follow: React to more Sabaton music.. I can tell that their music is "****" powerfull. And in the same time that much informatife about history.
Oy... let me try to mention some of their less popular, but great songs, as well as fan favorites: Fan Favs: (aside from Bismarck) Winged Hussars (this is their MEME song, kind of a tongue-in-cheek fan-love for this one) Stormtroopers No Bullets Fly (animated story video) Christmas Truce (This is without a doubt one of their pinnacle songs.) Dreadnaught 1916 (Motorhead cover, includes a tribute to Lemmy) Steal Commanders En Livstig I Krieg (live at Gothenburg) - Also, A Lifetime of War the English version, the focus of the to songs are completely different. The Swedish version is a very personal practically first person view of a soldier, the English version is a sort of overview of the 30 Years War. Soldier of Heaven Attack of the Dead Men Father To Hell and Back Person favs, I guess you can call many of these B-sides, these songs are never, or rarely, reacted to, usually only by people who kinda run on a tangent, doing whole albums or just rabbit-holing the discography. The Ballad of Bull Cliffs of Gallipoli Final Solution Light in the Black The Last Battle Smoking Snakes The Ballad of Bull, Cliffs of Gallipoli, Final Solution, Christmas Truce, Dreadnaught, Father, and Stormtroopers will give you the entire gamut of sounds that Sabaton creates, from a solemn ballad (Bull) to electronica (Final Solution) to a raging headbanger (Stormtroopers). Warning: No Bullets Fly, Christmas Truce, Ballad of Bull, Cliffs of Gallipoli, To Hell an Back and 1916 will or may require tissues.
Rabbit hole indeed. Also there is a Sabaton clip where it is important to read the end of the credits, and many requestors forget to ask, and then they get sad when you skip. So i am letting you know about this little trap beforehand. 😆 A few great songs (that do not include the mentioned credits song, as it is already written in the comments by somebody else) from Sabator would be: Ghost Division (Live) Attack of the Dead Men Wolfpack Red Baron PS: Sabaton also has a history channel that tells the stories behind the songs, but there are BIG song spoilers so you would need to check out the song before the history clip.
Very good reaction and welcome to the world of military history taught by metal music 😊 I've followed your Nightwish reactions and I'm happy that you have decided to look into Sabaton. Sabaton is a Swedish that makes music about war and soldiers from all over the world, without taking sides. They celebrate the bravery and sacrifices of any soldiers, having the phrase ‘lest we forget.’ If you want to dig deeper, here's a small list of songs to react to, if you want. There're many others and I'm sure others will suggest them. 1916 (Motorhead cover) th-cam.com/video/HgGhhnQB1gw/w-d-xo.html Night Witches (Animated story) th-cam.com/video/5YPo8zDkvy4/w-d-xo.html Lady of the Dark (Animated) th-cam.com/video/3AsRfcrZeUE/w-d-xo.html Soldier of Heaven th-cam.com/video/LYI3eegIJlI/w-d-xo.html The Red Baron th-cam.com/video/0qeARqCAK2g/w-d-xo.html Christmas Truce th-cam.com/video/HPdHkHslFIU/w-d-xo.html En Livstid i Krig (Turn CC on) th-cam.com/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/w-d-xo.html No bullets Fly (Animated story) th-cam.com/video/dslO-3GgenY/w-d-xo.html One note: Please ALWAYS play their videos to the end. There's usually some dedication or other information at the end. Have fun learning :)
I sincerly believe you should check out 'stalingrad' by the same band. Its of course about the battle of Stalingrad, and most of the lyrics are from a soviet soldier's diary.
Primo Victoria about D-Day Last Battle about the Battle of Castle Itter Last Stand about the 1527 sack of Rome No Bullets Fly about Franz Stigler and Charlie Brown*watch the animated story video To Hell and Back about Audie Murphy Just to name a few

If I had to choose just 3 to recommend to you it would be:
- No Bullets Fly (Animated Story Video)
- En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) - OBS turn on English subtitles.
- Christmas Truce (Official Music Video)
Edit: I have to recommend more videos, three can never be enough... so.. here goes:
- Night Witches (Animated Story Video)
- Lady of the Dark (Animated Story Video)
- Father (Official Lyric Video)
- Stormtroopers (Animated Music Video)
Br //M
If you check out the official video for "Great war" you'll see how crazy and huge their live shows are. It's also a fantastic song :)

Remember that it's perfectly okay to show emotions and cry when listening to music in reaction videos, etc.
I concur!
I def concur
I contour too! And watch every videos very ending, there is allways something cool.
sabaton....
the most entertaining history lessons ever made....
Yepp, just all of them.
And they also continue a lie that's used to justify evil and to beat millions of people into submission.
Only in Second WW.
A rabbit hole… you are certainly right there! Other videos of Sabaton you need to watch:
No bullets fly
Christmas Truce
Night Witches
Lady of the dark
1916
Sabaton“s songs are about true historical stories from wartime that should not be forgotten.
If you want to know who is singing during the credits, the answer is close to the end of the credits. ;-)
I second these recommendations!
I agree with all your suggestions and I have a few others I mentioned in my comment. They are all good
100%
Definitely 100% have to listen to absolute end of Christmas Truce 😉 And for another that kicks definitely Night Witches..... worth a Google of the history behind the song too.
@@AndrewinAus we can not forget the song about the biggest badass in history the lady of the dark
great reaction, more Sabaton please.
Animated STORY videos (short Animated history lessons with music videos in them)
No bullets fly, enemy showing mercy to injured aircrew in a nearly wrecked aircraft barely still flying, even escorting them to safety.
Night witches, Young (17-28) female bomber pilots in ww2 fighting the Nazi despite the discrimination they faced and being given obsolete equipment, aircraft ...
Lady of the dark, female fighting alongside men during ww1 and being highly respected and even more decorated.
Red baron, the famous fighter pilot of ww1
first soldier, unlikely French hero in ww1.
Epic ORIGINAL videos.
Youjustsaw Bismark, about the sinking of the ship
Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914
40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939 (with odds actually close to 55:1 they held for 3 DAYS when ammunition and supplies ran out.
Price of a mile, about the battle of Passchendaele
Screaming Eagles, about the battle of the bulge

1916 about the devastating battle of the somme in ww1, casualties topped 1 milion if you count both sides, all for 6 miles of ground,
these are just some, there are plenty more.
Oh you will shed so many tears with this band. pay attention to the comments under your video :)
Nightwish Army Northern Germany greets the Sabaton family. we love you
Nightwish Army Australian Division here.
I'm a 64 yr old Londoner and I can honestly say it was the best concert I've ever been to - Wembley 2023.
one quick thing with Sabaton, always watch the full video to the end. there's always something extra buried in the end somewhere (even if it's buried in the credits 😉)
Have a look at Christmas Truce for your next one, your gonna be impressed
the best history teachers out there, most of their songs are based on historical events and people... their history channel here on TH-cam us a great resource for information about the songs historical background and bit on how and why they made the song
I can highly recommend the following songs by Sabaton: Christmas Truce, 1916, Attack of the Dead Men, and No Bullets Fly. With all Sabaton vids, make sure you watch all the way to the end as there is usually some extra info and/or guest performances
@@chrismatthew8812 I can’t wait to see attack of the dead men performed live in phoenix in a couple weeks
@@johnbransby6231 so lucky. I cannot wait to see them live somewhere. I am sure you will have a great time 🇦🇺🤘
Band is from Sweden.
Floor jansen
floor jansen in dutch show reunion (tampere 2015)
You say they look badass and intimidating, but by all accounts these guys are total goofy nerds, and I love them for it!
My personal favorites of theirs are No Bullets Fly, Night Witches, Christmas Truce, and there’s one about the red baron I can’t remember the title of off hand… (shame on me!)
ETA: I’m a total dingus.
Sabaton is a treat that I can't wait to take on this journey with u. They song about history and teach at the same time.
Enjoy!
Many envy you as you begin this new journey. Oh and Tommy will follow for sure!
Lots of great trivia nuggets about this ship and its demise. One of my favorite tidbits is it's 15 inch guns could lob a near 2,000
pound shell over 20 miles. And it had 8 of those. Lastly the British Navy fired over 2,800 shells at the Bismarck hitting her over
400 times. Imagine being on the Bismarck when all that shelling was coming in.
I'm never getting tired of seeing people hearing Sabaton for the first time. Even hardcore rappers becomes fans.
The captain of the fishingboat is a son of a survivor from Bismarck
Great reaction! I’m a former Army attack helicopter pilot with combat experience (101st Airborne)…the men from back then were hard core! React to their song, “No Bullets Fly”…I actually experienced that situation…
Where do you begin to start?. Christmas truce, Night witches, No bullets fly, the unkillable soldier?. So much more
Sabaton is a Swedish metal band and they have a historic background to their songs that you can read about.
I concur, Tommy is amazing, as is Sabaton
you have to listen to no bullets fly and christmas truce. if you have this much emotion for this song, those ones will blow you away. not sure if you know this, but all their songs are based off true stories. these 2 songs hit hard
1916, Christmas truce, animated story no bullets fly, and night witches. Soldier of heaven, en livstid i krig. All great song you love. The first 2 might make you cry.
Yes! YOU get it!
-Sabaton is Swedish
-do Stormtroopers next
-I saw them live two weeks ago.
"Kriegsmarine" was the German Navy
Welcome to yet another epic rabbit hole. You are in quite a ride. I look forward to watching you go through their stuff. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺🤘
Great reaction! An awesome live performance to watch is Uprising Live from Woodstock in poland👌😎🤘
The 'Primo Victoria' they put on the boat is yet another Sabaton song...
It's definitely a rabbit hole.
Screaming Eagles
Christmas Truce
1916
No Bullets Fly

In no order in particular, more pertinent, the band actually has 2 channels on YT one is the music videos. The second is the history behind the song. So listen to the song, learn the history, then rewatch with the appropriate awe for exactly how brilliant the writing is.
a few of my favs
devil dogs (historical version)
screaming eagles
no bullets fly
christmas truce
primo victoria ..... side note this song and bismark the videos where made with the help of a small video game company they have a couple games out you might have heard of them world of warships and tanks
Thanks for sharing your reaction to this Sabaton song. For me, this is their best song in the original Swedish language: SABATON - Carolus Rex (Live - The Great Tour - Stockholm)
It also features the Finnish cello metal band Apocalyptica & has English subtitles as closed captions.
Animated videos songs: night whitches, red barón,no bullets fly, lady of the dark,INCREDIBLES ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ GOOD JOB LANA
Hi Lanae, Sabaton are my favourite band and I’ve seen them live in concert!!
You should do "Soldier of Heaven" from Sabaton next. They are fucking awesome!
My favorite solo from them is from Seven pillars of wisdom 💯 They have amazing music video for that one as well
In the 90s, James Cameron dived to the wreck of the Bismarck, which lies over 4,000 meters deep on the slopes of an underwater volcano.
Kriegsmarine translates as War Navy
The name Germany used for its navy during the world wars.
Other sabaton songs...
Uprising live in Woodstock

Sabaton = Valor Metal. I must recommend the 1960 Movie "Sink the Bismarck" to learn more of the Battle of the Atlantic, it was one of my inspirations to enlist in the USN in 1984.
Kreigsmarine is the German Navy.
I wish to suggest '82nd all the Way' about Sgt York, Medal of Honor winner from WW1.
This ain't a rabbit hole, it's an entrenchment.
I recommend En Livstid I Krieg live at Gothenburg (The Great Tour) by Sabaton. The song is in Swedish but the captions are in English.
Next stop needs to be GHOST Division LIve from Woodstock...the energy will be stunning......SABATON !!!
It was the Flagship of the German navy.
You should listen to Christmas Truce! Also Sabaton sings about Military History.
Sorry for this Wall of text :)
In the beginning of the Video, you can hear the Radio in the beginning, when the are driving is talking about How the Bismarck have blown the "The might cruiser Hood"
That lead to the British Navy got the message that Bismarck must be destroyed at all costs and lead to Battle of The Denmark Strait.
The Kriegsmarine was Nazi Germanys Navy.
The Video was made with help from the company behind "World of Tanks" that needed some material to their game "World of Warships". And yes Sabaton really played on a boat in the "middle of nowhere".
"From Wiki"
(just a short version).
Great reaction!

Welcome and enjoy!
I love sabaton they are a historicmetal band
And if you look at Tommy Johanssen solo music and his band Majestica
White Death and Talvisota next! These videos are history lessons!
A bit of historical context:
Bismarck (or rather, the Bismarck-Class, as i'm not sure if Bismarck's Sister Tirpitz didn't end up slightly bigger) is the biggest Battleship ever built in Europe.
I think it's a requirement that Sabaton reactors watch: The Christmas Truce, The Last Stand, and No Bullets Fly animated story video.
Personally I would have said the last stand, the winged hassars, no bullets fly, solider of heaven, primo Victoria, lost battalion, ooo actually first would probably be ghost division not got the polish of some of there newer stuff but exultant intro and would also use that to introduce Minniva she dose so well with the covers of Sabaton and u can imagine how difficult it is for a female voice to get that same power and impact while keeping the feel and tone of songs like this and not come across as masculine minniva manages it she has done lots of others amazing covers as well
Most of their songs are fkn awesome, Carlous rex is a favorite though
I like "Screaming Eagles" about the 101st Airborne defense of Bastogne in 1944. I like the video too. An older Sabaton song.
Look at 1916 by Sabaton. ❤❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Thanks
Check out their channel, Sabaton History. They explain the stories behind the songs. If no one else told you, Floor Jansen is married to the drummer for Sabaton.
Welllll, to name a few that I definitely love:
Fields of Verdun
The Unkillable Soldier
Great War
Long Live The King
Carolus Rex (English Version)
The Lion From The North
Panzer Battalion
1916 and the Christmas truce for sure
The powerhouse of metal is actually on the smaller boat.
Nice reaction 🇸🇪
To 7:40 and follow: React to more Sabaton music.. I can tell that their music is "****" powerfull. And in the same time that much informatife about history.
Great one, try more (to Hell and Back ?)
Greetings from NW-Army-Germany and SabatonFan ❤🔥
some girl power Sabaton lady of the dark animated story video is a must
Look video again and follow the compass from start to the end🇸🇪🇫🇮👍
And i give you a tip or 2,listen to Tommy Johansons covers every friday, and the group Majestica Tommy s band😊
"Kriegsmarine" is the 1WW name for the navy and translates too "war navy"
sabaton history is their history channel give it a peek all of their songs are military history based
Night witches, fields of verdun, 82nd all the way
Oy... let me try to mention some of their less popular, but great songs, as well as fan favorites:
Fan Favs:
(aside from Bismarck)
Winged Hussars (this is their MEME song, kind of a tongue-in-cheek fan-love for this one)
Stormtroopers
No Bullets Fly (animated story video)
Christmas Truce (This is without a doubt one of their pinnacle songs.)
Dreadnaught
1916 (Motorhead cover, includes a tribute to Lemmy)
Steal Commanders
En Livstig I Krieg (live at Gothenburg) - Also, A Lifetime of War the English version, the focus of the to songs are completely different. The Swedish version is a very personal practically first person view of a soldier, the English version is a sort of overview of the 30 Years War.
Soldier of Heaven
Attack of the Dead Men
Father
To Hell and Back
Person favs, I guess you can call many of these B-sides, these songs are never, or rarely, reacted to, usually only by people who kinda run on a tangent, doing whole albums or just rabbit-holing the discography.
The Ballad of Bull
Cliffs of Gallipoli
Final Solution
Light in the Black
The Last Battle
Smoking Snakes
The Ballad of Bull, Cliffs of Gallipoli, Final Solution, Christmas Truce, Dreadnaught, Father, and Stormtroopers will give you the entire gamut of sounds that Sabaton creates, from a solemn ballad (Bull) to electronica (Final Solution) to a raging headbanger (Stormtroopers).
A few great songs (that do not include the mentioned credits song, as it is already written in the comments by somebody else) from Sabator would be:
Ghost Division (Live)
Attack of the Dead Men
Wolfpack
Red Baron
PS: Sabaton also has a history channel that tells the stories behind the songs, but there are BIG song spoilers so you would need to check out the song before the history clip.
Very good reaction and welcome to the world of military history taught by metal music 😊
I've followed your Nightwish reactions and I'm happy that you have decided to look into Sabaton.
Sabaton is a Swedish that makes music about war and soldiers from all over the world, without taking sides. They celebrate the bravery and sacrifices of any soldiers, having the phrase ‘lest we forget.’
If you want to dig deeper, here's a small list of songs to react to, if you want. There're many others and I'm sure others will suggest them.

Have fun learning :)
I sincerly believe you should check out 'stalingrad' by the same band. Its of course about the battle of Stalingrad, and most of the lyrics are from a soviet soldier's diary.
I can definitely recommend En Livstid I Krig live at Gothenberg its in Swedish so put the subtitles on.
Congratulations to youf reaction very good now u found the next rabbit hole 😊👍next try „uprising“ live at Poland rock in front of 550000 people
Fun fact. The Bismarck was launched on Valentine's day
Primo Victoria about D-Day
Last Battle about the Battle of Castle Itter
Last Stand about the 1527 sack of Rome
