I wish I could experience Sleep Token for the first time all over again.

So nobody knows for sure if the songs are about the girl you´re talking about, but there are radio interviews where they reveal that they were a couple at the time and I've read somewhere that today she's married and have a kid with another guy, so maybe who knows! And about the whole Sleep and lore thing I believe Sleep is a kind of imaginary personification of an abusive ex that vessel had and he uses this personification so the meaning of the songs can have multiple interpretations according to each person's life experiences. So I think your interpretation is right. Anyway this doubt and confusion is the whole beauty of this band. It's not just songs, they are a journey. Worship! Greetings from Brazil

His songs are about sleep as you said (lore wise). But they're definetely about himself and of course his ex girlfriend. But that's what makes their songs great as they're very open to interpretation and relatable

What I've noticed about about Sleep Token is there are people who "get it" and there are people who don't. Some people change their mind over time, but for those of us who heard them once and did a deep dive never to emerge again, there is something about them that captivates us and keeps us entranced. For some it's just good music, for others it's an experience, a lifeline. The beauty of Sleep Token lyrics is that all of it is open for interpretation. It can be about whatever you want. The bread crumbs they've left for us can hint at certain things, or straight up tell us like Vessel was approached by Sleep and promised glory if he followed Him (Vessel used he/him pronouns when speaking of Sleep), thus all the songs are a token to Sleep. The coordinates in the songs take you to Point Nemo, the most remote location on Earth, the farthest from any landmass. The depths are an easter egg that gives the secret to the album art on the back. And this isn't official lore, but I believe the increasing depths are him drowning, sinking further and further until he hits a point where he has to decide whether he wants to pull himself out or let himself drown. This feels evident in the music and his voice when he's singing. The desperation grows until it reaches a breaking point.
