It was a pleasure to meet you. Let us know if you ever want to come check out St John. We have a remodeled 2/1 apt for you at no charge. Enjoy the BVIs!
You are living the dream and have a beautiful boat you only live once so live exploring the world meeting wonderful people and sharing your experience…super nice boat
Recently cut the cord and we spend 90% of our tube time on TH-cam. We watch A LOT of travel vlogs. With that being said, we find ourselves looking forward to your videos the most. Thank you Alan, truly.
You are not kidding with that sweaty workout. It was HOT HOT HOT that week! We yelled at you driving by in Anegada and at Scrub ;). Hope you had a great week!
Thanks for showing things like taking a few tries to grab the mooring ball and troubles with the dinghy motor…makes us feel better when we have to solve issues. Glad you got it all figured out. We’re planning our first bareboat charter down there next year thanks to you…fingers crossed! 🤞🏼
Man! This, to "me," is the best vid that I have seen to date. Thanks for always sharing your loves, your lives, and your adventures. Simply uh-MAZING! Blessins...
I have a Keurig. I also have an adapter for ground coffee. Better for cost saving and environmental saving vs. throwing away used cups. Great video as always. Glad I subbed.
On our honeymoon (brought the whole damn family with us on our honeymoon cruise - 17 of us) last month, we had stops in St Thomas and Tortola. Did not spend nearly enough time in either. The Hillbilly is a wonderful ambassador for this area (and boating, including the ups and downs). Cant wait for the next video.
Great video mate - must check the tender fuel tank feed pipe. Had a HUGE laugh at the mooring attempts - reminded us of our first attempts which were not helped by having a boat hook that wasn’t long enough! Cheers
Your videos are so great. My wife and I took a trip to St. Augustine and went on a sailboat there, "The Schooner Freedom", and we fell in love with sailing. It all sort of happened by accident because we didn't plan on going out on a sailboat but I'm glad we did. We plan on going to BVI with some friends and just wanted to say thank you for all your videos and sharing your experience. Might end up seeing you there!!!
Your drone caught my girlfriend and I posing for a picture on the Willy T’s! Glad to see more Californias making the long trip to the VI. We were out there that same week. Excited to see the rest of your trip. (But you missed some stellar post-storm sunsets the previous week…)
Pro tip: Scan your passport creds but place the scanned copy in your suitcase. When you get to the boat place it in a safe or somewhere locked away and carry the copy when leaving the boat to go run erranda or site seeing...except when flying back home. That's what I was told, anyway.
Looks like a great time by all! Have fun and looking forward to the next video! P.S. I took your boonie hat to a Twins game on Father's Day but unfortunately did not get a picture with it. Next time! 😁
Congratulations on making it back to the BVI and Nanny Cay. I did my first BVI charter out of there 22 years ago on our honeymoon. Now we have moved on to our semi empty nest adult trips with friends. They are asking me to do another one next year. Norman is one of my favorite stops. PB’s & WT’s is always fun. Dinner at PB with that sunset over St. John’s is always stunning. Love the boat and the excellent vids. Enjoy the time with good friends and family.
Hi Alan! We passed you on our way in to the Bite last Sunday for our first jump off the T in two years. This is our thirteenth time bareboating the beautiful BVI. Always enjoy your videos!
What great fun! I was curious, is there a limit to how large a yacht can use one of those mooring buoys? I see some pretty big boats in your opening scene. Could, say, a 100 foot motor yacht use one? Most of your videos show sailboats and cats moored with you, so probably not. Those guys just anchor farther out then? Thanks, and keep these awesome videos coming!
I assume that 60 feet or more is not a good idea on the ball. I’ve seen some 65 foot sailboats do it with confidence but not motor yachts. They all anchor. Thanks for watching!
Will be there in 3 weeks for a month, can't wait! Your videos have been inspiring and enlightening for us newbies. Dropping the kids off at SeaTrek BVI for 2 weeks then we charter a cat for 9 days. Scuba and fun! Never been, so thanks for the info!! Hope to at least wave at you!
It’s looking like like things are kicking off well for you and The Hillbilly. Glad your crew made it to you safely and you guys are having fun. How about the Rangers getting 6 on the All Star team!! Have a great one and look forward to the next adventure you bring us. Be well.
hey Alan Did you see this? ?Earlier today, American Airlines commenced its latest route, connecting Miami with the British Virgin Islands. The carrier will now fly daily to Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS), located on Beef Island, a small island off the main island of Tortola.
Glad I found your channel! I’ve been researching power cats and have been curious as to whether one could make it from Miami to the Virgin Islands and beyond. I’m still a couple of years away from getting a cat and taking it south, but it will happen. Aquila has had my eye fir some time. Your channel has given me great insight into living aboard and entertaining on one. You’re doing exactly what I intend to do. Love your channel. Keep it up!!
Love watching all your videos. Thanks to your suggestions we are heading down to the BVI in a couple weeks for our first bareboat charter. I do have a question about the itinerary. In your 7 day itinerary video that is very popular you talk about going counterclockwise but I feel like in all the videos I’ve seen you go clockwise around Tortola. What makes you decide which way to go each time? 12:37
It all depends on your schedule. The first week I went clockwise cause of the Marina Cay event. The second week…which you will see in a few weeks time…I went counter cause of the event at Bitter End. Depends on your schedule
I'm curious about your Hurricane Season Plan? Are you keeping the boat in the BVI? Tied in a slip or hauled out? Maybe you'll take it to Puerto Rico and haul out at Marina Puerto Del Rey???
@@thewanderinghillbillywhere were you able to find space.? We were told all dockage or on the hard storage was privately held by charter companies, except at Spanish Town
Great video. Are your Rangers going to make the playoffs? My Nat's are history. We're already looking for next year. That's what losers do when their season is lost. Oh well, that's life. I looks as if you're really enjoying the boat. Semper Fi.
Hey Alan, about to get my BVI charter dialed in. Also flying into STT. What water taxi do you use and what company do you use to provision your yacht on this episode? Thanks!
Hello friend! Do you have a videos where you talk about reserving mooring balls? Seems like you can do that but there can be some complexities. Also, do know anything about the Catamaran Company? Many thanks!
Whom do you use for your water taxi charter, not looking to go the public route as ferry timing / wait times do no seem desirable. We are visiting in November and this is one of the last things I need to book. Thnx in advance!!
Apologies, but did you say these people are charter guests? Are you chartering, or just friends coming along!? I wanted to ask you a hopefully not to crazy a question, but if these are friends coming out with you, do you charge them anything, gas, food etc, or you are that guy who makes a butt load of money and treats everyone? Just curious, keep up the amazing videos, can’t wait to run into you and buy you a few too many cocktails!!
Hey…anyone invited on board The Hillbilly is my guest. Family, friends, friends of family. The only requirement is ZERO drama and fun attitudes with appreciation. They often pay for some, a lot, a little…whatever they want. The rest is on me. It creates a wonderful environment for a special time. Thanks for asking
Cool days in the BVI.😊😃😄😁🙃
Thanks
Beautiful video , need more often please
More to come!
closing the place down is always a success and it doesn't suck😊
