While i like that they made such a gorgeous project, the fact that they didnt figure out the legal IP logistics before going through with the whole project is just silly, youre asking for a copyright lawsuit with something like that, especially an IP like berk. I hope it works out in the end.
As far as I know, it was mostly to do the Black Swordsman arc justice. I assume if it did well, they’d cover other arcs For what it’s worth, there’s another studio who made an episode or two in the style of 1997 that deals with Black Swordsman too.
I don't know who has seen another video on this topic, but the ENTIRE project looks to be a scam. The voice actor for Guts in the trailer has talked about how there is nothing being made as of late. No progress on the animation, and people have left the project. The patreon itself was taking money from backers for this project only to try and funnel it into others, then after those ended with nothing to show for it, the money was going into the directors pockets. It seems we were NEVER actually gonna get anything besides the trailer. Now this is here say of course, but I wanted to update people on this. The video by BerserkDude talks about it in a bit more depth, link below. th-cam.com/video/fWKRhbcR2FI/w-d-xo.html
This is incorrect. I am a commissioned animator for Studio Eclypse. I get paid by the studio for all the work that I do as do the other animators and artists - in their fields - that I work with. The reason that work slowed on Berserk after the trailer release was not because we were no longer working on it - because it absolutely was still being worked on - but because AoT: Requiem needed all hands on deck to be completed. Furthermore, the VA for Guts is only part of the one server where we correspond on projects. We have an array of servers, depending on what work is being done and at what point in the project we are. This is also a safety measure to avoid any leaks of content or footage. We are a group of fans. We have lives outside of the studio. Full time jobs, families, some of us are still in school or Uni. It's painful to read these things about us, as individuals and as a group, due to the lack of information, shared by another - might I add: this person has also come out confirming that they didn't have all the information when they posted - or simple conjecture and assumptions. People have come and go over the time I've been there but we still continue to work hard - damn hard - and learn from each other and the industry as we go. No one is forcing you to follow us but the support we've gained from fans along the way, has made us better animators and artists, and have allowed us to spend more time on this project than we might have, previously.

I can’t wait to see what happens with this. Their work looks so good
It won't be great. Its will look like pretty moving pictures. It will obviously look unnatural because its fanmade.
Mfs cancel fan projects and give us berserk 2016 and 2017. The struggle continues..
Truly saddening
It’s hilarious how quick the fandom is to get their hopes up 🤣 y’all must be new to Berserk.
Lol so much has happened
I really want to see Studio Eclypse do well. It’s already a shame that Studio Taka quit their project.
Studio Baka more like it!

I haven't heard of this yet, is it a fan project to remake the 1997 anime? Or will they animate beyond the eclipse events aswell?

It is clear from the announcement that they were going to quote the Black Swordsman arc that did not appear in the old version.

Yes they didn’t have the permission to make this project, but they’re in talks with studio gaga now, hopefully they work something out.
