I’m truly excited about your dark souls venture! I found your channel because of your Sekiro series and been hooked since. Thank you for making such interesting (and high quality) videos :)
Coming from your website after devouring your Sekiro Lost in Translation, and there is going to be SO MUCH to unpack in Dark Souls - especially Dark Souls 3, where almost all of the lore was changed last minute and the bosses reordered to fit Soul of Cinder and Oceiros. Originally, Gundyr was Oceiros (hence the pus of man) and there was a different intro boss, Sulyvahn was replaced by the Fire Witch enemy as a boss, and the final boss would have used Sulyvahn's model as "Old King of the Eclipse", most likely a reincarnated Lorian. It's also alleged that Kaathe would appear for phase 2 of the Twin Princes and cast for the second half, but I find that hard to believe. Anyway, incredibly excited to see what lore answers come from your translation of Archive of Fire!!
Your Dark Souls boss name translation videos introduced me to the channel, so I'm very happy that you'll be tackling such a huge project that's in the same vein. The decision to lump the games together for efficiency, cohesion and comphrehensiveness is understandable, but also the one aspect I'm apprehensive about. The sequels retcon or reinterpret a number of things from the first game, and as such tackling them as one entity can have the effect of misconstruing the original intent behind aspects of the first game's world, story and lore. As such, I'd personally prefer your original approach idea, treating the first game as separate from its sequels... but, like I said, I completely understand your decision to treat all three games as one, especially following your time and effort spent with Sekiro. I also trust you to handle nuance in topics more than I would just about anyone else in the community. I'm looking forward to your work immensely, and I wish you the best of luck going forward!
Thank you! When I come across something that was established in the first game but then changed direction in the sequels, I'll be sure to clearly articulate it.
First off, this is an gargantuan undertaking! So please *please* pace yourself, and take rests, your well being is more important. Second, how are you approaching the changes between original DS2 and Scholar edition?
I would prefer to see Dark Souls 1 being translated separated, the other two games just try other things, it bring back themes but in a different way, reinterpretation of themes that before used to be meta and then became literal... Yeah, good luck. I can't take the sequels seriously, especially Dark Souls 3. That game is just a mess, it lacks a Soul in the gameplay and even in the story, so nah. I'll be here leaving a like like always. Hope it does good for you and people like the project.
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I know I won't be able to please everyone with how I end up organizing this project. But I will try my best to make it in such a way that those who only care about some DS games will be able to easily find interesting stuff for the installments they love.

Unbelievably based. Your Sekiro content was good quality food for my play-through. DS saga has some hella extensive world building.

I am yet to reach DS2 texts, but whatever I can cover - I will.
I can save you some time, if it doesn't seem relevant in lore, it's a Beserk reference, if not that, then it's a Magic: The Gathering reference. Lol
Can’t wait ( ^ω^ )
