    Great video and I love this Idea but the biggest drawback as with vinyl wrap is that it's temporary. Looks good for a while but any number of cleaning chemicals, wax or clear coat can ruin it. Basically, it's plastic and not all plastics are created equal.

    Question for you regarding 2019 facelift, I have a 2016 C300 led package sport package that the front end just got wrecked on. I was thinking of taking the opportunity to upgrade to the 2019 facelift. Do you know if that will work with the new lights and bumper? Do you have any insight or wiring kits for the headlights since mine are the LED 2016‘s versus the new 2019 LEDs?

    • @dejwitdsgn
      @dejwitdsgn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      only that fits 2019 front are side and top mounts on the bumper, nothing behind the bumper fits. The lights should have same connector and might work if its cheapest simple led without some dynamic cutting out other cars high beams.

      Don’t spray below 60 degrees (based on my experience). You can float the cans in some warm water so when you spray, they atomized well but dry times would be much longer between coats. I sprayed the trim in 63 degrees in my garage because I did it at night.

    • @TheFlexxGarage

      It’s not paint. It’s liquid wrap/dip. And yes, it’s peelable like plasti-dip (if applied correctly) but it’s gloss.

    Looks sweet, I love the look, closer and closer you’re getting to that complete look👌🏻 I’m wondering how’s it holding up on the trim that has the rubber trim next to it. I tried my hardest to mask the rubber off, but eventually in some spots, it peeled. Idk if i didn’t spray enough or it had a hard time sealing next to the rubber. I also did use plasti dip, not superwrap, that could’ve made a difference too. I also didn’t cut with an exacto knife, I sprayed the coats kinda quickly and peeled it all right after the last coat so it made it easier to peel. Looks a 100x better than ugly Plasti dip matte

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far so good. Even through some rough rain storm. The trick is to definitely put on the layers to make it durable. Superwrap sprays pretty thin hence why it needs a lot of coats. I really took my time on this job. Definitely didn’t wanna do it more than once.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s peelable. If applied properly and well taken care of…should last 2-4 years (based on my experience with liquid wrap materials). Apply too thin, edges could lift, water gets in, and bubbling will occur. So definitely take time prepping and spraying the proper amount of coats for durability and longevity. I would say pick up a can and test your skills on a scrap piece before jumping into doing wheels.

      @@TheFlexxGarage So covering your entire car with plastic and tape, and giving it 10 coats of spray, is easier than giving it a vinyl wrap? Really?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It sure is. It’s a little more time consuming but almost anyone can do it. Not everyone can work with vinyl wrap and is confident to literally take a blade to their car. I’m putting a blade in a gap. Vinyl wrapping the trim is putting a knife on the car (with some protection from masking tape ). That’s 2 different experiences with a knife.
      Took me years to perfect my amateur vinyl wrapping skills and it still ain’t perfect. But you ask me to spray anything, it’s cake. Just more time consuming with prep but still easier for a DIYer than vinyl wrap. I would take easy application that takes more time...than hard application that takes less time. And I'm speaking from an amateur standpoint.

      I agree. I did vinyl chrome delete on my c300 last year and theres a learning curve for sure, less time more skill, this is more time less skill. So much can go wrong with vinyl, even with a pre cut kit. Not getting it on properly, doing it in the sun the vinyl gets too stretchy etc.
