I agree. I have a hunch it was designed to do that intentionally, to prevent pressing down too hard and bending the blades. It pops out if you press too hard and "teaches" the user to apply lighter pressure and let gravity and the spinning blades do more of the work.

Thanks for this in depth review (in English). I did buy one, but based on your video I searched until I found one where the guard and the bowl actually lock into place. • @Amarianee
    @Amarianee ปีที่แล้ว +24

To those giving the "put it against the plate," suggestion (in regard to the first guard): I would like to see him try this, but I don't think it would fix the actual problem. Watching carefully, the problem is the food pushing the blade out, which is what causes the guard to fall off. Putting it on the plate would technically prevent the guard itself from falling off, but it wouldn't stop the blade from being pushed out

I have a large food processor I've had for decades. About 10 years ago a friend gave me her mini chopper because it only has a two cup bowl, and it was too small for her family. (I think she received it as a gift.) I thought it was great because if you are only chopping up enough for one bowl of salsa, or an onion to go into something it beats cleaning up the big one. In a couple minutes your done and washing it up. Even the veggies for stuffing/dressing, salads, it's all done quickly. The big food processor has the different blades, grater, etcetera. If I'm only doing a little bit of cheese on something I still use the hand grater I got at the Dollar Tree, it fits into a disposable/reusable blue plastic box to gather the shreds into. I also have an immersion blender.
So I don't see any need for something that might fall apart while using it. I have name brand products already, that I really love. Worse case scenario, I get a knife out and a cutting board. I don't think I'd let you pay me to take this product. Sorry.
But thank you for the review, it was very interesting, and informative.

And yes, I said drink. You must only eat egg foods, drink egg drinks and even have egg deserts. And by this I don´t mean cake since it has eggs on it but deserts were eggs are the main thing and has a texture/taste like. If you place the slicer snugly over a coffee cup, I’m sure the bottom cup won’t fall off, I’m fairly sure. Of course it’s an inexpensive little item and while there are better chopper/slicers, for prepping for up to 4 people, I think it’s not bad. And I’m sure the blades don’t lock to the top where the motor is because it’s a safety feature so the blades don’t accidentally start without the bottom cup in place.

Instead of a plate you could just use a tall container like the ones that come with hand blenders. There usually ofa similar width and could potential rest the slicer on top to stop in coming out and have plenty of space for the veg to fall.

If I bought this unit, I would use my 3D Printer and design a better locking system for it. That would be one workaround if anyone wants this unit.
I like your reviews because you try to be as positive about the product as you dare to be. I wish every company would send you one of their products for you to test. I think the better companies who truly believe in their product would welcome your review. Have a wonderful day.

So I bought one of this but a different model that hold the accessories in place better
And honestly it is really useful to help me clean stuff.
Tho as its main use of blending stuff, it's way too small and underpowered

feels like it just needs a bungie cord to prevent the slicer from falling off... lol

It's funny, i was just earlier today searching for a decent small food processor / chopper, and boom - here's your video. 😊 Gotta admit, though - the pieces falling off so frequently would also drive me batty. Even if it works somewhat better leaving it flat on the table, it still seems too flimsy. I trust all your reviews so, I'll check to see if you have any others like this. But, better. lol

That thing is so flipping dangerous I’m not sure how you feel about knowing that some people who take your advice with this one will end up with serious injuries if not finger amputations.

It doesn’t seem to do anything beyond any tool you already own.
If you have to slice up food to a size that fits in the device, what’s the gain? Now, you also have to clean the device and it’s cup.
    No value add IMHO.

Add a lock to the bottom part and you've got a good product right there. Also wouldn't mind some safety features on it, since this is just begging for someone to stick their fingers in the spinning blade... in fact, I have a feeling I've seen a reviewer cut their finger on this machine, but can't remember who.

NGL, I'm probably gonna order this 😂 I know that's probably how you're supposed to do it but I wouldn't hold it above the plate like that, I would hold it against the plate in order to keep it from popping off.

There should be a locking mechanism like a lot of appliances. Have, where if you turn something to the right word to the left, it locks in place. They should have thought of that when they made that chopper.

Probably a good idea for people who have limited kitchen space but still want a food processor, bonus are the attachments!!

A nice idea, but POS construction; someone’s get-rich-quick design scheme. It needs a more powerful motor and a locking head…

I feel like this has a lot of downsides. For one, the size. If you need a food processor for a recipe, typically you'd need larger amounts of stuff.
Also, the rechargeable battery is a huge down side. Because, you'll charge it, put it away, and it will have lost charge when you need it. Also, for these no name products, you have no clue how good the battery is, probably gonna wear out fast, and when it'd dead, this thing is land waste.
Some things simply don't need a battery. Kitchens are designed with wall plugs for a reason.

I had one of these and got rid of it. The thing was really dangerous. I realized that there are no safety features on it. When the power button is held down, it starts to spin whatever attachment is being used. The chopping blades can be connected and will spin without the plastic cup or funnel.

If the biggest issue is there is no lock - then look more carefully - although it isn't in the instructions the bowls lock onto the machine - there's a slot and notch - very firm lock - no problem with mine
