I think the Pan Buddy is a great idea! I use a wheelchair, so carrying hot pots and pans around the kitchen can get a little tricky sometimes, but I can see this making the process a little easier. I may have to get this for myself!
I think you should try it. If you get it off of Amazon & it really doesn't work you could always return it. I'd get it except I'm ok with the pans I have now & I don't really cook all that much anyway. Mostly because my fibromyalgia/auto immune means I can't really clean up until the next day or so. So mostly I go over to my friends where my grill currently is & he does the cleanup while I collapse on the couch. Before feeling guilty & at least taking the trash out for him.
I tried it. First of all, I have arthritis, and it has to be screwed onto the pan; that really hurt my wrist. And then it didn’t fit on my all clad pan I returned it.
My first thought upon seeing that was that it seems like one of those products that was originally developed to help people with some sort of physical disability, but that they decided to market to the general public as well. Many products that seem "silly" or "unnecessary" come from this kind of situation.
@@AgentOrange96 Yeah, toilet paper wands spring to mind. I am seeing another "plus" for the ZipQuicker is that the "freed" hand would be available for using a spoon, spatula, or fork to help move any remaining solutions and solids into the bag.
put a cup or other wide mouthed container on the counter, open the ziplock bag, and fold the top of the bag over the mouth of the container, fill, close, no need to buy the gadget.
I recently chopped up my peppers and onions and it was a pain trying to get the pieces into the bag without anything keeping the top open. I was thinking of getting the Zip thing, but as he said, $26 is steep for the product. I generally am not putting liquids into zip bags, so not a need for me.
@@Sillygoosespoofse I've done this, too, however, depending what food you're putting in the bag it can be difficult to get out of the jar once the bag is filled. One of the main features of this gadget is that it is wide all the way from the opening to the bottom. That's the selling pint for me.
@@wrylife57 you honestly have nothing in the house that has a flat bottom and at least two sides high enough to fold the top of a bag over? you REALLY need an EXTRA piece of plastic kitchen equipment? REALLY? cmon.
The Zip Quicker looks like the perfect example of a kitchen gadget that is definitely useful, but probably not _quite_ useful enough to justify the awkwardness of finding a way to store it.
The ziplock bag holders would also work pretty well to hold the bags open in the dishwasher, so they can be reused. I have a different set of gadgets that does the same thing, and I probably get 15-20 uses out of each bag. Haven't bought ziplocks in years, and I'm saving a ton of plastic from the landfill. Win win!
The pan buddy honestly sounds like such a good help and it's good to know it also fits the Onlypan. I think even lighter pans can be quite the hassle once they're full of food. Seeing you walk around with it makes me think this would be really helpful for people the eat outside a lot, transferring the food to the table would be much more comfortable.
I have problems with my wrists so the Pan Buddy might come in handy. The Flower Power steam release thing is cute. The Zip Quicker can be used for more than one thing. For example, I could stack my boxes of plastic bags inside the Zip Quicker between uses. The small one would be great for holding folded paper napkins. The larger one could hold a small roll of paper towels, or be used to stack paper plates or hold the tops of plastic container lids at a barbecue or picnic.
I purchased the ZipQuicker about 2 months ago and they are fantastic. Just as the video showed, they hold the bags open wide and minimize messes. Can’t believe how much quicker and easier it is to store leftovers.
Great video! I have no use for the Pan Buddy, but that seems like a great idea for those who need it. Love the Zip Quicker, but at that price, I'll DIY it. No chance I pay anywhere close to that for such a simple product. In fact, I wouldn't even bother waiting for it to go on sale, because it would likely still be too high.
I’m all about the Pan Buddy! I do have arthritis and I love my cast iron skillets. That’s going on my Amazon list. I like the Zip Quicker too, but I’d get it on sale. I could store in in my wraps/baggies drawer by putting the boxes of them inside the two Quickers.
If someone wants a cheap alternative to the zip, get a wire shelf, from dollar store or the $1.25 store, with proper length for the height of the bag you use (like for lockers, or can find similar kitchen cabinet one) and turn it upside down. Those wire easily bendable yet sturdy enough to change width to hold open the bags. I prefer those other bag openers and holders over the zip because they are collapsible. The zip is just a thin acrylic self turned upside down. Over time stress on bending it will break it.
For some reason when you were outside with that pan,I just pictured someone looking at housing where you live and the realtor/landlord saying “don’t worry about the guy in 312, he does TH-cam or something, so you may see him walking around from time to time”

I’ll be playing with my dog and she’s just blasting spray paint over and over again on a piece that doesn’t even need it because she wants a shot. So I’m just coughing up a lung and trying to run back inside. I’d much rather live next to this guy… 100%.
I honestly have a couple of the cute pot lid lifters, but I grew up using a wooden spoon propped across the top of the pot with a lid - cheap and very effective! The Daisy thing for $10 - nope! And I’m a kitchen gadget, etc. person!!!
My problem with the zip thing is definitely the price, but also I'm not sure that the bendy parts are going to stand up after some usage. Please keep us updated
My big question with the Zip Quicker is how many fillings it will last for being bent like that. Most kinds of plastic will weaken over time and eventually break from doing that too often.
Not sure if I really do need those gadgets, but if I do … 😅 the first thing I will need is a large kitchen with lots of storage spaces for all the different gadgets 😂
The Pan Buddy seems good. It makes me wonder why we design our pans to put extra strain on our wrists! The Zip Quicker seems fine, but I'm sure I could DIY it with some cardstock.
You could just use a big mug or tall plastic containters that you already own instead of spending 30 dollars on some bent acrylic. And if you want the plasic bag to stay put, get some cheap paper clips
They make a much better version of that, which he's already reviewed in the past. It was a round base with two extendable arms with clips on the ends of them, and you extend the arms to the size of bag you have. When not being used it all folds flat to go in a drawer. My family owns one of those (and did for years before he reviewed it) and THAT ONE is fantastic. It was only like $6, too. And it works beautifully.

Awesome to see the pan buddy. my friend was part of the r&d team for the pan buddy and you wouldn’t believe how much names it had before they settled on pan buddy lol
For a tip on what to do with the “free hand” while using the ZipQuicker: the spare could wield a spatula to scrape the bowls pan. That’s a juggling act I’d be happy to stop doing.

I think that the pan buddy would be great for tossing food in a wok for people who have dexterity problems and peple who don't, great review i enjoyed that.
Thank you using the Pan Buddy to poor from a big pot into the ZipQuicker. I have a weak wrist on one hand and I’m super short, so getting the leverage to tip a pot or pan is an issue. 😇 This was super helpful.
You missed info on the advertising of the pan buddy that it's made for cast iron pans. This is especially important with cast iron pans being healthier than so many nonstick cookware that are bad for your health. Now that weight is why this gadget is important as cast iron is so heavy
I have limited use of my right hand, so the pan buddy and the zipquicker would both be very useful in my kitchen. Just wish the price was a little lower.
It's fun watching James taking his crockery out for a walk. All are good and helpful ideas and they seem to work. But I wish you had a cast iron pan. I have one. If the Pan Buddy fits, it would be awesome.
the zip quicker will work great with my vacuum sealer bags. It can be hard to fill a bag with marinate and meat by yourself while maintaining a clean sealable top.
The pan buddy would be best used if your dining area is a distance from your kitchen. My kitchen is upstairs and we sometimes like dinner in the backyard. This would help carry the pots.
Is the zip bag thing dishwasher safe? If it is I’m thinking that you could put a bag in it then turn it upside down in the dishwasher and wash and reuse the bags.
That is a fantastic thought. I have several non throw away container bags that say they are dish washerable but functionally they are not because they don't stay open enough to get the inside clean. Your idea would solve my problem😁
I love that pan handle. I don't think I really need it. But it's perfect for a lot of people. The zipquicker definitely works great. But is is really worth $26? I might consider it if it were a whole lot cheaper. Certainly useful though kind of big.
I agree with the last product, the quick zipper is a cool product but a very high price for 2 pieces of plastic. The pan buddy I think I may get one as I have a hard time carrying pans.
Man that pan buddy would have come in handy after I got out of my wrist brace last year....a mended broken wrist will still ache like MAD when you pick up a skillet.
I must be a lone wolf about putting liquids in plastic zip bags as I’ve never done that in my very long life!!! I always put anything with liquid or just liquids like sauces, etc. in plastic containers with lids!
Me too, for most of my life. Then a friend showed me how convenient it is to put 1-2 servings of leftover soup per bag, and lay them flat to freeze. It frees up freezer space & the smaller portions help me more regularly use the leftovers.
Well if you find that you don't use the zip bag holder, you can always use it to hold your napkins. I guess the flower gadget is that for propping up the lid, the flower is for cute marketing. I could use that lifting handle myself!
Hey there. I searched, but I don't think you've reviewed the Instant Pot or any other electronic pressure/multi cooker. Am i missing something? If you have, can you review some accessories for them? I have an Instant Pot Viva, and I love it!
On a different topic. I found that you made a comment on a I DREAM OF JEANNIE clip saying that you had a crush on Barbara Eden (who wouldn´t?, not just cause she was gorgeous but the persnality of the character.) So, I wanted to ask you: Did you like Xena? To me is my favorite TV show till today. From the fact that I´ve always loved Greek miythology, to the action and that the series became darker/more mature as it went on. PS If you liked it you´d love SPARTACUS. As incredible as it is was produced from the same people as Xena and Hercules. Just that this one is adult from start to finish and has plot twists constantly.
For weak wrists or heavy pans, I can see the usefulness of the first item. But the other two are MUST haves. There is no way I am putting a wooden spoon under my lids and I refuse to use a mixing bowl to hold my ziplocks. Please tell me where to send my money, immediately.

it should work fine as cast iron is what it talks about on the box
@@OverkillBillsXbox Thanks! Now that I watch it again I see it. I didn't look carefully enough.
the zip quicker will work great with my vacuum sealer bags. It can be hard to fill a bag with marinate and meat by yourself while maintaining a clean sealable top.
Great video, James! I will be purchasing the Zip Bag Holder and the arm thing for the pans.
Daisy is cute, but it didn't work!
Thanks. I've had multiple strokes. U think that I will order the Pan Holder and the Bag Buddy. They both seem like they would be very helpful.
"kinda looks like the starship Enterprise" yes! lol. 🤣
Pan Buddy is such a missed opportunity, it could have been called the Pan Handler.
The pan holder would be great if BloodRayne takes up cooking.
Underrated reference!
I'm definitely impressed with the pan buddy and the zip quicker 👍👍
The pan buddy would be best used if your dining area is a distance from your kitchen. My kitchen is upstairs and we sometimes like dinner in the backyard. This would help carry the pots.
Is the zip bag thing dishwasher safe? If it is I’m thinking that you could put a bag in it then turn it upside down in the dishwasher and wash and reuse the bags.
That is a fantastic thought. I have several non throw away container bags that say they are dish washerable but functionally they are not because they don't stay open enough to get the inside clean. Your idea would solve my problem😁
I have been using my own version of the Zip Quicker for years...easily constructed from a wire coathanger, & doesn't cost $26.
That flower thingy is a total waste of money. LOVE the pan buddy!
Would love to see you review the Shelfy anti food waste gadget. See if it really saves food.
Yeah!
I love that pan handle. I don't think I really need it. But it's perfect for a lot of people.
The zipquicker definitely works great. But is is really worth $26?
I might consider it if it were a whole lot cheaper. Certainly useful though kind of big.
New video! I get so excited. 😂
The Pan Handle one was shocking. I'm intrigued by it.
Man, that handle on the Pan Buddy...it, ah, resembles some very different products in design...
Pan buddy makes for a good makeshift police baton too!
Shout out to the Gotham pasta pot. I bought it years ago because of your review and I love it.
Props for going the extra mile when testing these items. 👍
When I need to carry my big frying pan around the neighborhood, I’m getting one of those pan buddies!
I really hope nobody saw you walking around with that pan 😂😂😂
Love ❤️ the Hex Clad pan, I love mine.
PS
If you liked it you´d love SPARTACUS.

Ok…you were totally making swish the Enterprise through space sounds, weren’t you!
That stew looked delicious...now I'm hungry 😋
Nice video. I liked the pot holder.
