What’s the reasoning you connect high vol to hydrant to intake one of truck, to then connect a discharge from that truck to the other trucks intake? Why not just connect hydrant directly to the intake of truck doing fire attack instead of connecting through another truck? Thanks!
Overcoming friction loss for the long lay, also provides a backup source of water if hydrant fails the pumper can send his tank water up to the attack truck

Or is it just a quicker option to reverse lay with 2nd on scene from the truck then to hand bomb the high vol from the first truck on scene?
