@@Snooopy28 it’s more engaging to watch someone who could get instantly obliterated go up against a threat than it is to watch someone who can take it.
Cecil says himself he's a *very* good liar, and with being able to lie so fluidly and easily, you tend to have a way with words to push all the right buttons in the right order to get someone to do what you want.
During his confrontation with Nolan at the end, there’s a delay before he reappears after he teleports, which tells me that he gets sent back to base before he gets teleported again to wherever he wants to reappear. If that is how it works, then they’d be up to about $105,000,000 if I counted right.
Not necessarily, it's pretty common in shows to have some semi-non-linear storytelling. Rewinding time a couple seconds so we can see both Nolan and Cecil's reactions at the same moment from their perspectives is a possible thing.
When I started watching Invincible, I really thought teleportation was just his actual super power. Super powers aren't exactly super uncommon in the Invincible universe, they're more like quirks from the My Hero Academia universe, so it would have made sense.
Considering all the damage and devastation that Omni-Man caused in S1, this is a rounding error. Let alone the consequences of letting him run rampant.
@@Albatross0913 They're comparing the cost of the damages, and potential damage if Omniman got his way, to the total cost of using the teleporter. A drop in the bucket vs the damage, able to be mistaken for a precision error in the calculations.
Adjusting for inflation $80,000,000 in 2003 would be the equivalent to $133,770,000 in 2023 or $8,360,625 per teleport. Thank you for all the views on my dumb video!
Probably cost a little more to teleport that kaiju, especially since it stressed the system enough that it had to be fixed. If mass or volume is a factor, it might have been a couple billion just for that one transport.
Pretty sure the teleportation has no operator and is thought-controlled by Cecil. After all you'd think an operator would avoid unnecessary teleportations and just tell cecil "no, just drive over here" instead, but the reaction times and gratuitous use of it tells me Cecil is the only one controlling it.
I agree. It seems to be somehow tied to his physical ability. Some of the teleports seem to strain him more than others. Like in the Nolan fight, the voice actor makes him seem more than just scared.
I assume the show takes place later since there is more advanced technology such as smartphones. If I had to guess, maybe the first season took place in 2021 when the show released.
I get the impression that Cecil is almost always doing something, being teleported from crisis to crisis the entire day, readusting instantly to new situations due to the sheer amount of times he has to do so on a regular basis.
My main gripe with teleporters that’s actually shown here is they appear to be the perfect weapon. Cecil’s tie was cut neatly in half as it was held in place, so why not just teleport half a person to kill them?
Or why not just teleport something into someone? Unless its explicitly stated that's not possible, the only issue would be precision. And even then, they could teleport a kaiju-monster sized object to give some leeway.
I'd like to point out several of these particularly when confronting omni man there is a slight delay, implying he teleported away and back, meaning he actually teleport twice.
2:46 Lovely little moment, I think if Omni-Man had said it was for his duty to his people, Cecil wouldn’t like it, but he’d be able to respect and understand it.
$5 Mil may not be as crazy as it’s sounds now, but when the comic came out it had significantly more buying power. Still probably not a lot to the US Military, but more than we’re thinking from today’s perspective; around 8.3 Mil today
ok rich guy idk about you but 5 million dollars is pretty crazy to me, not a big different between 5 and 8 million either really cause when you have that much its easier to build wealth
There are literally missiles in the US arsenal that cost more than $5 million per use. The main reason why the US government wouldn't use teleportation even MORE is because having a bunch of superheroes around the world acts as a more cost-effective method of dealing with potential supervillain threats.
O que eu acho foda e que o Cecil diz nós quadrinhos que cada teleporte Custa Cinco milhões então contando o que ele chegou aí só nesses 30 segundos ele ja gastou 30 milhões 😂
Don't forget, that was 5 million dollars in 2003. If you adjust for inflation it goes up to 7,950,000 per jump. So season 1 cecil actually did 127,200,000 by modern day standards.
Remember that the teleport is instant, so during his time with omni man trying to kill him, each one of those teleports are technically double, once back to the pentagon, and then back to some "safe" spot away from omni man
There is probably some kind of economy of scale involved here. Most of the cost is likely in R&D and set up. So the more he uses it the lower the average cost of each teleport.
Just in case you're curious, if all of the US military budget for 2023 was allocated for Cecil's teleport, he could do it over 300 THOUSAND TIMES. Not 300. 300 000.
I feel like Americans would actually use a teleporter that custom 5 million every time. Not caring about how much debt they end up in. After all, their debt literally exceeds the entire planets currency already. On top of that that cars you probably cost more than the 5 million to teleport since it burned out the teleporter
There are about 250 trillion us dollars in the world economy, us national debt is about 30 trillion and most of that is circular debt, i.e they owe, for example, China a couple trillion dollars, but China also owes them about the same amount.

God the genuine emotion in omi-mans face when Cecil talks to him is amazing.
Absolutely, Cecil knew he was getting into his head especially when bringing up Mark & Debbie.
i think those teleportations in the final scene may be doubled. rather than warping away from Omni-Man and reappearing elsewhere, it would make more sense he's warping back to base, then somewhere else in the field
Yeah, the time delays suggest that
Especially since the last time he teleports he goes back to HQ
I like how in the comics panel shown in the end, it's his smile that teleports last.
Probably a reference to the Cheshire Cat.
I love how Cecil has no powers but is basically the only one truly able to get to Omni Man. Doesn’t need super strength to break him, just the right words
in "superhero" stuff, i always like the people without powers the most, they literally dont qualify and can still keep up
@@Snooopy28 it’s more engaging to watch someone who could get instantly obliterated go up against a threat than it is to watch someone who can take it.
right? there is no easy way for them, just beeing smarter than theyr cheat code enemyes.@@Snooopy28
That’s still under the price of an F35
I don’t know some of them are a bit more instant.
You're not the only one
Same
It not being a superpower makes Cecil ironically enough even more cooler than if it was
There's a person in the comic who has this exact superpower and works for Cecil.
Another person who didn't pay attention when watching.
to be fair.. who wouldnt just constantly use that thing if they had access to it?
Me
AND the money, don't forget that shit
To be fair, with the importance of the project as a whole, not even a dollar per American in the interest of galactic security? Probably fair.
With the way these things usually work out, Cecil is probably pissing straight uranium runoff water.
most expensive conversation in history
Considering all the damage and devastation that Omni-Man caused in S1, this is a rounding error. Let alone the consequences of letting him run rampant.
I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say, the video was calculating the cost of just using the teleporter, not collateral damage
@@Albatross0913
They're comparing the cost of the damages, and potential damage if Omniman got his way, to the total cost of using the teleporter. A drop in the bucket vs the damage, able to be mistaken for a precision error in the calculations.
I thought teleporting was his superpower
No. His super power is that his balls are made of adomantium
@@CF-or3cicost 5 mi because of the weight of his Balls
@@anonimoqualquer5503the most expensive ball's on earth then?
Me too. This scene was my first look on Cecil and I was new to invincible.
At least he has the decency to admit this is costly for the taxpayers, rather than the government or claiming its "free".
Adjusting for inflation $80,000,000 in 2003 would be the equivalent to $133,770,000 in 2023 or $8,360,625 per teleport.
Thank you for all the views on my dumb video!
Based
Probably cost a little more to teleport that kaiju, especially since it stressed the system enough that it had to be fixed. If mass or volume is a factor, it might have been a couple billion just for that one transport.
Pretty sure the teleportation has no operator and is thought-controlled by Cecil. After all you'd think an operator would avoid unnecessary teleportations and just tell cecil "no, just drive over here" instead, but the reaction times and gratuitous use of it tells me Cecil is the only one controlling it.
i cannot imagine telling cecil 'no just drive' would go well
@@mothematic "I am your fucking boss. Teleport. or you're going to Guantanamo."

5 million in 2003 is about 7.4 in 2021. Round it up to about 120 million dollars.
“It’s like christmas morning.”
I actually wanna see saxton hale vs omniman now.
Here's the comment I was looking for. God save the queen!
I was not expecting a TF2 reference to pop up here.
don't do that, Nolan will die in seconds
Honestly a better use of my money than another bailout for some billion dollar corporation.
I think thats from omniman reaching it, isn't it?
@@danielm6089 still illustrates the point unless they show the field can only cut to a certain degree then it can be used on anything
Because they would need to put on the watch Cecil talked about
Or why not just teleport something into someone? Unless its explicitly stated that's not possible, the only issue would be precision. And even then, they could teleport a kaiju-monster sized object to give some leeway.
@@dtczyk8976 well that’s just a matter of the medium used I don’t think that cthulu monster is wearing one
and those were just on screen teleports...we don't know how many times he does teleport off screen...lol
Probably a lot more offscreen like teleporting to off screen and teleporting back on scree
Nolan’s emotions mean so much more after what I’ve seen of season 2 because he actually feels them and doesn’t understand why
1:04 Dark Blood getting annoyed that his taxes are rising.
30 million dollars the most expensive conversation ever
"Jack! 80... Million. Dollars. You know how many times you can teleport with that money?" - Walter White
0:45 Cecil just spent 10 million of taxpapers money just to drop in and check on Mark's date.
I swear whoever is teleporting Cecil must have some insane reaction speed or prediction because Nolan is hella fast
I love how Cecil has just simply come to love using it so much, I'd be addicted to it to haha
Honestly the best deployment of an $80 million weapon. Money well spent
AWWW dang! I was getting into it there! Haha got me wanting to watch the whole thing again.
Cecil’s Voice actor KILLS IT! 🔥🔥
Great job.
I like it when shows or any story in genenal go over small details like this, always makes the feel world more alive
That's less than the cost of a single modern fighter jet.
where do you think the trillions of dollars pentagon missing each year goes?
The fact that someone actually put the effort in to make this into video.
Wholesome compilation, I always found Cecil’s teleporting really cool.
"I meant to teleport to your front door. This isn't exactly swiss in it's percision" He says after multiple teleports with pinpoint accuracy.
Right, he wanted to test if Nolan’s lie about not being able to see who killed the Guardians in the dark was true.
What I always going so cool was his scar resembles to me at least, almost like a tiny vortex spiral 🌀. Just like his teleportation device technology.
There are literally missiles in the US arsenal that cost more than $5 million per use.
The main reason why the US government wouldn't use teleportation even MORE is because having a bunch of superheroes around the world acts as a more cost-effective method of dealing with potential supervillain threats.
"This thing isn't exactly swiss in its precision"
He is so lucky he hasn't teleporter INSIDE something.
He lied
O que eu acho foda e que o Cecil diz nós quadrinhos que cada teleporte Custa Cinco milhões então contando o que ele chegou aí só nesses 30 segundos ele ja gastou 30 milhões 😂
Here I was thinking Cecil just had the power to teleport and great timing
Do we know how long each teleport takes? All of the instances when talking to Nolan could be two each, one to disappear and one to come back.
For so long I thought it was his own power
This is awesome
ngl i honestly thought he just had teleportation powers lol
"Im not hiding" is such a badass quote
ofc he's probably teleporting at times off-screen and even before the series started so the cost is even higher.
Don't forget, that was 5 million dollars in 2003. If you adjust for inflation it goes up to 7,950,000 per jump. So season 1 cecil actually did 127,200,000 by modern day standards.
I love the monster part. It felt funny.
The production value is so high. It's like watching a professional show.
Cecil may well be my favourite character because really he’s just never wrong ever. I also like the voice actor that plays him
Cheaper that I thought
You forgot to add the teleport of the Kaiju
it’s literally at the end
@@jalen7480oh don’t know how I missed that lol
I aprecciate you using The Brutal Sniper song 🙏
and then, there's all those off screen times we never see and now, all those times from season 2.
Huh I thought that his teleporting was his power
@@Teth47 when you get into large sums like this, you'll start realising that money is a tool and it truly is worthless in the grand scheme of things. Nothing for more than a tool to get what you want. What is the current inflation is precisely because it doesn't have any real value which means companies are free to put their goddamn prices up as much however, this in turn generates the belief that the money doesn't have as much value, which in turn lowers the value of the money
@@solarwind Yes, money is a tool we use to stand in for actual value. It's fundamentally worthless by itself and largely controlled by people. I was just pointing out that the US does not, indeed, owe more money than there is.
Fun fact though: There are about 500 quadrillion dollars invested in futures over the next decade, which means that if we don't somehow increase productivity by ~1000x in the next decade, money becomes worth 1/1000 what it currently is, or a bunch of rich people become much less rich. You and I both know which of those will happen.
@@Teth47I was pointing out that The US is debt at one point did exceed the amount of currency on the planet. It's just they decided to prick more money and if there's more money. Therefore their debt does not exceed the amount of currency on the planet and truth. What I'm trying to say is that the US debt or a country's debt is completely fictional because no one can really ever pay it back. Especially when you consider that the US owes itself the money in the first place that it actually owes money too
Love him or hate him Cecil is a badass
Also, I hate how it seems like every story nowadays goes with the multiverse route so they can give every version of every story with every character to every reader, just feels lazy to me, originality is lost there even if some brands do it better than others
I agree but to me This story is kinda an exception since it was made 20+ years ago
Spider-Man TAS did the multiverse thing in the 90s.
well I mean it was in the comics 🤷♂️ take that out you take a big part of the story out
The comics pre dates most of the other multivise stuff. It's just has been over done it at this point.
I love that, in the last Scene with the comic, on the last panel you can See Cecil’s smirk on his face
Whoever is controlling the teleporter is a fucking god of reaction time for how how well they make him dodge every single attack from omni-man
The tax joke in the comic is honestly one of the funniest things ever😂
You know, this whole time I thought he was using holograms and this video was going to be about some kind of traumatic side effect he’s suffering. The truth is much more outrageous
