Excellent video. I was one who waited, and am glad I did! I found, and bought a 12/47 Farzakerley, in unissued condition, one of the last made. It has the metal cap at the forend. Truly a fascinating chapter in the Lee Enfield story.

That’s awesome mate, what a great find. The metal nose cap looks way better I think. Great rifles, enjoy it’

Thanks for the comment, I really agree. I enjoy all of the Lee Enfield series but i've always found the JC the most interesting

Great video, very helpful verifying the the No.5Mk1 im selling for a customer of mine. Only trouble im running into is the side of the reciever appears to have been scrubbed on this one (could be heavily worn but wouldnt be consistent with a high wear area) without the black finish and it does have markings on the rear and no reinforcing screw, so im going with clearly not from india, however still interesting.

Very interesting. I suppose there is a few places it could have ended up where it was scrubbed, Pakistan? . I wouldn't rule out India but you have sound reasoning for doing so. That's the fun thing with Enfields, they are hard to deal in absolutes!

Great video, but you missed the trigger guard cuts, they had a few millimetres cut off each side, plus scallops taken out near the front screw hole.

Both true but also seen on some No4's

@@servicerifleshooter agreed, I think when production ceased of the no 5, the interchangeable parts were used on the no 4 rifles.

Very informative, thank you. I was at a LGS and saw one with a funny stamping on the right side of the butt stock. Cannot decipher what it is. Looks like TM or 7 M, in a circle. Or maybe it is some letters in another language belonging to a country where it was used, maybe. Not sure if it’s stamped or carved as it’s very gritty. Date is 1945, month not clear. Any help is appreciated. Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. The No5's saw use with India as well as in Africa (Ethiopia ) , so potentially one of those.

Любое современное оружие для охоты можно купить. А вот старое, это проблема и стоит оно дорого.
