On my last 1903A3 video a comment was made asking about which clips would be ejected by the bolt being closed. The standard clips used with the 1903M2 Ball ammo are Mauser style with 2 tabs at each end . In mine and others experience they need to be removed manually before closing the bolt.

    Very interested to hear your experience with the first unit. I have been immensely disappointed with mine but it seems like I have the same issue! I've had a WFA1L for a few years in 223.... The SP-15 wasn't out at the time I bought that. I'll throw no shade on the Warwick, it is an awesome rifle, but it is on the heavy side. I've just gotten hold of an SP-15 LR, and the previous owner changed the barrel out for a thinner, 16" Swan barrel. I never thought i'd be more impressed than i was with the Warwick, but damn, Jeff makes a stunning rifle. So smooth in its function, and the fit and finish are just stunning! I can't wait to get out and give it a run for its money.

    • @servicerifleshooter

      They are both nice rifles but the level of machining and detail on the Oceania is next level. That said i do prefer the warwick trigger (personal preference for 2 stage) and I like that it can be left or right hand charging

    Great video, very helpful verifying the the No.5Mk1 im selling for a customer of mine. Only trouble im running into is the side of the reciever appears to have been scrubbed on this one (could be heavily worn but wouldnt be consistent with a high wear area) without the black finish and it does have markings on the rear and no reinforcing screw, so im going with clearly not from india, however still interesting.

    • @servicerifleshooter
      @servicerifleshooter 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very interesting. I suppose there is a few places it could have ended up where it was scrubbed, Pakistan? . I wouldn't rule out India but you have sound reasoning for doing so. That's the fun thing with Enfields, they are hard to deal in absolutes!

      certainly if I was planning on shooting 500 regularly i would want the 16". The ergo loss wont be really noticeable as the barrel profile is relatively skinny and the rifle just balances so well anyway. I would choose 16.

Although I do have to admit, I think I should've been more specific when I first asked the question but maybe it doesn't matter? Will these stripper clips work just fine with M1903A4 without the scope and scope mount? Or does the A4 variant have a different charger bridge compared to the A3?

    • @servicerifleshooter

      HAHAHA, I forgot to mention yet again, mine didn't come with a scope or the scope mount, but it has 3 other tell tale signs that it's an A4 varient. I did some testing today and found 3 types that worked for me, recorded the test and I’ll post a video showing it soon. But for your info the clips I found that ejected with the bolt closing were Swedish Mauser, Turkish Mauser (presumably other K98 clips will work?) and the NATO M80 7.62 ball clips . As a control I tried the 1903 clips from some M2 ball ammo and they don’t eject they stop the bolt, as you know.
