Your rebatch turned out great. I did one from a winter soap in blues that lost it's scent. When it was all said and done it reminded me of my grandma's old linoleum kitchen floor, I hated it! I keep it outdoors by my outdoor tub to wash up with after gardening. LOL
Oh my goodness,... some nerve of people. I love your videos. Thanks for this video because I have an older soap that needs rewatching. Thanks for the tip of a salad shredder. 👍🏼💜💜💜
I know it's like forever ago that you posted this video, but I just wanted to thank you for doing it! I had a bad batch some time ago and then I stumbled upon your video so I am definitely going to give it a go! I really like how you walked us through every single step like even to say to keep the cooker on low while you're plopping it out, thank you so much! I love listening to you speak. Super helpful, thank you! I kept seeing people say it's best to use a couple day old soap and I have WEEKS old soap that seized and burned out the essential oil 😣 going to go rebatch it, thanks for the help!
Thank you for watching ❤ depending on how old the soap is, will depend on how much liquid you need to add. If it's only a couple of days, you won't need much. Just with older soap you need more liquid but still achievable.
I found Kenny on Royal Apple Berry (giggles) over a year ago after I made a batch of soap and forgot to add the fragrance 😕 I tried her way of rebatching and it turned out beautifully!! 😁 I just added a lot of cream and whipped the tar out of it and have to say, it came out a winner 🏆. I hadn't realized you needed to rebatch or would have saved you the trouble of searching. Hers is the best method by far! My grandson was the happy recipient of the "soap that floats", and is always asking for more. I even use this rebatched type of soap to make my felted floating soap. So very happy you found Kennys site and it worked out wonderfully for you too. Fragrance sounds great and love the sample idea. Thanks so very much for sharing 😊
Kenny is so funny. I've watched for years now. 😊 I love researching for information- you never know what you'll discover. Floating soap is so much fun for big and little kids
i am so grateful youtube suggested this video for me! i have a batch sitting on my curing racks and hte discoloration from the fragrance oil isnt uniform, it smells nice but looks wretched. i didnt think i'd be able to rebatch it very well because its an older batch- but now i have HOPE! thank you so much!
So fun! I often find lemon fragrances tend to fade so I’ve been staying away from them. I’m actually about to pop a soap in to the crock pot that didn’t turn out because of the fragrance oil. Hoping I can salvage it.
Love it.....I’ve had my old crockpot waiting to rebatch my old end pieces and scraps for ages..after seeing how well this worked I’m going to start going. Through and colour matching those old soaps and get busy..... I also have about 20 bars of activated charcoal soap that no matter what I did they would not stay black.. I would steam them, wash them, trimmed a few mm off each surface and still they would severely ash again over a week or so! ( they almost looked mouldy ! ) I PH tested them and they seemed ok but they still looked so ugly yet I used a bar in my kitchen for after chopping onions etc and it was great...Maybe I missed an ingredient ? but they are unseeable so I have nothing to lose..fingers 🤞
Hello. I am newbie in the soap making. I have a batch which turn out not so nice. It was drying my skin. Your rebatched soap isn't look so rustic, it looks smooth inside, only rustic on top. But so nice soap I don't have crock pot, so could I use double boiler, and would it make some difference in result or time?

Wow! That rebatch looks great! I'll have to remember the whipping trick. I've only had to rebatch once before, but it's always good to garner knowledge to squirrel away for when needed 😂
Lemon scents always seem to vanish ☹️ haven’t got to the end yet but it’s 2 am so leaning my comment now. Glad you got the copyright issue sorted hun much love and breathe easy xx
I would print out paper with your logo all over it and pop it under a clear plastic table cover , it’s advertising and almost impossible to edit out heaps of images like that...cheap and easy 👍

I rebatched 2 lots of soaps this way, using a batch of soap I made that smelled wonderful but was really ugly lol, another that looked fine but the fragrance was a non event and I also added quite a few soaps that were getting too old and ended up with 2 large batches of soaps, using different dyes and fragrances and not only do I prefer to use them over cp soap but they were a huge hit with friends and family and unfortunately I'm down to the last bar now. I did load up the moulds as carefully as I could and had hardly any air bubbles, so they looked pretty good. I'm going to make another batch today and selfishly I think I'll be keeping this batch for my family and ME.
Yay log splitter! I noticed straight away lol Excited to see what slab soap you make :) And go you, a lovely rebatch. I generally dislike the 'rustic look' but this turned out really nice.
I had cut it and realised I had a whole video showing the first time I had it but I figured to late to do anything 😆 Can't wait to show the slab I made next weekend 😊 Thank you for your help on it ❤ I got lucky on the look of this one
Yes you definitely can add more colour to the soap while rebatching. Just keep in mind any existing colour will affect it. For example if your batch is yellow and you add blue, it may go green.
Thanks so much for this video... May I ask what will be the best ingredient to add to tebatching a soap which is drying out the skin a bit... I guess to correct we need to add a superfat... Would double cream be a better option or shea butter?
It really depends on why it is drying. Is it because the super fat was too low or is the original recipe high in cleansing oils? You could add either cream or butter but a higher super fat may not address drying from excessive coconut oil
@@SoyandShea ooh could be.. But I guess have to give it a go and see rebatching with superfat before I conclude it is high coconut oil percentage.. Newbie I was and was experimenting various recipies and even hot process... So really dont remember which recipie these were made off.. 🙄
Remember also that we are all different. Someone with really oily skin may not find the bar as drying as someone with normal skin. If you think it could be the oil choices, I would probably add a little bit of butter, and maybe a small amount of cream. Not too much as these will be free floating in soap and not saponified into it. Maybe also add a little clay to create a nice slip
@@jhansi1402 same case with me. I think mine because of low superfat and high cleansing oil (I have the note and since I very newbie, I didn't got some references before). Could u tell me about your soap, did u rebatched? And how was it going?
Thank you for this video. I messed up some soap yesterday, so I was wondering can I combine cold process and rebatch, like a layer of each? Thanks from a new soaper!
I've never done a rebatch soap before but I'm wondering if the goat's milk would go bad or sour quickly because it hasn't gone through any kind of saponification process?? Looks nice though.
That's very interesting. I did see Soap Queen suggested Goats Milk for their rebatch soap. I will be drying them for another 2weeks so I can monitor thenm and will put a use buy date too.
Wow I 💕 All the essential oil’s that were used and there’s so much very pretty by the way I do have 4 daughters 🚺🚺🚺🚺and the soap 🧼 🧽 lathered great 👍 works very well
An emersion blender or bamix will only emulsify the ingredients together. The beater incorporates air into the soap. If you want the soap to float, it needs the hand beater. If you don't want it to float, you could use the bamix
Awesome soap. I have heard, and recently tried adding kaolin clay to better hold citrusy scents. However, it was also into a rebatch, but it worked! I will try kaolin with citrus in fresh cold process next. You mix the scent to the kaolin and then to the lightly traced soap
I've heard this too and have tried it in other soaps. The Kaolin does help. I think though the FO I used was just not strong enough to hold up in soap.
Soy and Shea I recently had a coconut scent completely vanish from my charcoal soap. Still don‘t know why. Maybe the charcoal swallowed it. Sometimes things just happen with soap lol
Ty this was very helpful I’ve been sitting here trying to decide what to do with all of my shredding‘s. I’m not one to make too many confetti soaps, however I’ve made them in the past only two in three years LOL. So I was literally sitting here thinking today wow I haven’t tried to do another re-batch in about a year because normally I just give old soap away at events or as free gifts such as yourself. I’m going to give this ago the last time I whipped it I whipped it so much it was almost like a butter and that could be used in a tub or a jar and when I sliced it it felt like mushy though I can’t quite explain the texture I really hope this time I get it right because I do wind up with a lot of little pieces that I could wind up making some decent re-batches with for even my own family instead of always using my good stuff in the house LOL thanks again yours truly Loren Dovico @DC Bubbles
Love this so much! I've got lots I need to re-batch and will give this whipped method a try! I wonder if a soap can be rebatched twice? I've got one I've done that I don't like how it turned out. Guess I'll find out!
I really like the way you did your re-batch. And I'm glad your essential oils held up. I was wondering since you put them in when the soap was hot. You know, flashpoints and all that. Yes, Kenny is fun to watch! :-)
I love watching Kenny - always a good laugh. The EOs have held so well. I've had a nasty experience with flash points and from what I experienced, it's the temperature they will catch on fire when exposed to a naked flame - it's why I only recommend unscented tealight for oil burners. Because there is no ignition source, there is no risk adding to the soap. The only issue is with evaporation. As our air is so cool, the temperature of my soap was actually quite cool and also cooled very quickly so the fragrance hasn't been lost 😊 I probably wouldn't do this in summer.
Hello, I realise this is an older video of yours hope it's still OK to ask questions. With the added goats milk, since there is no saponification going on, can this go off or go rancid?
Thank you for watching. I didn't find this to be an issue. I have kept one of the bars for myself to keep an eye on it and to date it is still fine. The PH level of soap would stop most bacteria that create these issues.
Thanks for this nice video, I loved it. Since I am French Canadian it was a little hard for me to understand everything you said so would it be possible to have a kind of recipe with the ingredients and the approximatie quantities you used?
The main soap was my standard recipe which I include in the description of my videos. As for the other quantities, this was filmed quite some time ago and really can't recall the amounts. I believe most of the information is in the video.
Yes, you can rebatch soap that was made only the day before if needed. The fresher the soap, the less additional liquid you need. It's a great way of adding missing oils, lye etc. Full saponification takes about 48-72 hours so any soap that is older than that is safe to use straight away but a cure time is always best to make the bar longer lasting and milder
Thanks Kenny. I have been soaping for three months now and tried to rebatch but did not let the soap melt properly. Oh well, I just put it in my car as a deodorizer. Ha ha. Now, I know how to do it right!
You can use any soap as soon as it has finished saponifying but curing is recommended to make a milder soap and longer lasting as the excess water evaporates. If you are rebatching freshly made soap that hasn't yet been cured, I recommend giving it a full cure to evaporate the water. If you are rebatching cured soap, it will still benefit from a cure which would be dependent on how much extra liquid you add to the soap. The more you add, the longer it will need to cure. I generally cure my rebatched soap for 2-4 weeks depending on liquid added.
I don't remember the exact oils I used in this one. I think I named the blend in the video. If you check out eocalc.com they have great blends and tells you correct usage rates
I love this video, this is awesome, if you don't mind? What is the ingredients that you added except of milk? Is there any brand of milk to be added if without goat milk avail. Or any substitute for that? Thank you for your response.
Thank you for watching. If you click on the description box in the video I have my recipe listed. You could add any extra liquid to this including just water or maybe cows milk
Hi there, thanks for the lovely video :) May I ask, if I didn't like the smell of the FO i used in my old batch, once I rebatch it, will the smell of the old soap remind? Or would I be able to add other FO in and change the smell of the rebatched soap? Thanks!
It really depends on the original fragrance. If it was a strong fragrance its going to remain but you can always add a little more of a complimentary fragrance. Remember that even if you don't like a fragrance, someone else might so still worth selling 😁
Fantastic! Rebatching is such a useful skill and I appreciate you sharing your latest batch with us, its beautiful and a wonderful idea. Don’t be surprised if it gets requested after all your samples are in circulation. 😁. FYI , I find Yogurt works great to loosen the mix before molding and I find it doesn’t seem to need as long of a cure/ dehydration time. I appreciate you mentioning the EO potency, its a great point. I love Blood Orange EO but it is so delicate. I need to use it in my next rebatch!
Hi! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! One question... or two. Can you re batch glycerine soap? And can you combine during rebatching, glycerine with non glycerine?
Hi, The idea behind glycerin soap or melt and pour is that you can melt it back down and re-use it. You just have to make sure you are not over-hearting it. You wouldn't have to use this method on glycerin soap, just a simple bain marie system or gently melting in microwave. I probably wouldn't rebatch glycerin and non-glycerin soap together.
@@SoyandShea Oh my! No! Not at all! You answered very swiftly! You'd be amazed... I have asked on some videos and three years later I am still waiting!
I would recommend getting an old “Salad Master”. I have an original one from the 60’s...no electricity, no batteries and they come with different blades so you can finely grate Parmesan Cheese, cabbage for Cole Slaw, and potatoes for hash browns or slices for Au Gratin. It’ll last a lot longer than a plastic Salad Shooter and could be used for other things.
Often, we're rebatching soaps because the fragrance or essential oil has faded so this isn't a concern. Any new oils, aren't generally affected unless you've overheated the soap. With regards to vitamin e, it needs to be exposed to high heat for a very long time to be affected
Just ran across this vid and great info as always especially for a hobby soaper here in Colorado! Do have one question for you tho. Since it is a rebatch do you feel you NEED to have soap specific blender or can you use you kitchen blender? Thinking about wrapping base in vet wrap until I determine if rebatching will be worth the blender investment.
Once you've used kitchen equipment for soaping, trust me, you'll only use it once for food again 🤣 my stick blender broke halfway through a soap once and that blender got thoroughly cleaned and put through dishwasher twice and the next soup I made tasted like soap 😆 I know some people say you don't need to keep separate but I have found I do
You could print out your logo all over a backing sheet like a paper table cloth style and maybe using a stamper or stickers. Let it cover the whole screen when you do a view of the process and that way no one can take your work and claim it as your own. I have one for when I did nails and hair training videos so no one could ever claim it wasn't me. Hope you find a solution soon
This is the best rebatch I’ve seen yet 😊
Thank you 🧡

That's very interesting. I did see Soap Queen suggested Goats Milk for their rebatch soap. I will be drying them for another 2weeks so I can monitor thenm and will put a use buy date too.
Wow I 💕 All the essential oil’s that were used and there’s so much very pretty by the way I do have 4 daughters 🚺🚺🚺🚺and the soap 🧼 🧽 lathered great 👍 works very well
Thank you 😊 it's such a beautiful fresh blend of oils and I couldn't believe the lather 😊
Love your video. I was wondering can I use a normal pot aswell? I have a slowcooker / crockpot, but rather not use it if i don't need to.
You can however you need to be careful not to overheat. There is less chance of burning the soap this way.
do you think you could have also used a hand mixer..like a bamix? or are the beaters you used specially important?
@@farout4708 the Joys of soapmaking 😆
I'm so pleased this was helpful. When it's whipped it is a funny texture when cut. 🧡
Can I add liquid vegetable glycerin instead of milk to make it more moisturizing?
It depends how much. Too much and it may become soft.
Love this so much! I've got lots I need to re-batch and will give this whipped method a try! I wonder if a soap can be rebatched twice? I've got one I've done that I don't like how it turned out. Guess I'll find out!
There is no harm in trying to rebatch a third time. I personally haven't tried it though.
Great job ❄️ thank you
Thank you for watching 🧡
Wow! Good for you, Soy Shea...terrible stuff going on glad to know it was stopped.
Thank you 🧡
Great rebatch video! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Thank you ❤
Awesome!
Thank you 💗
I really like the way you did your re-batch.
Putting your tags in the frame is awesome. When the vid thieves zoom in, your logo is more visible.
Thank you ❤ I'm trying to find ways to include then in a hygienic way 😊
Do you have to keep in mind the previous fragrance oil IFRA or essential oil when you add the new scent?
That's an interesting question and not something I've considered.
Why thank ya ma’am! I shall be busy as a bee...lots of scraps calling!
Happy to help 😊
That soap you rebatched lathers nicely would you share that recipe or your best lathering recipe with us please :)
Check out the description box for my recipe ❤
Awesome job
Thank you 😊
Nicely done Keeley! I love seeing a good rebatch/remilled design. Whipping it up does make for some fun floating bath treats :)Jen
Thank you ❤ I love seeing reactions to floating soap.
Nice video. Very educative. Can I rebatch a soap that has not completed the 4-6 week curing period? will it be safe to use in 2-3 days?
Yes, you can rebatch soap that was made only the day before if needed. The fresher the soap, the less additional liquid you need. It's a great way of adding missing oils, lye etc. Full saponification takes about 48-72 hours so any soap that is older than that is safe to use straight away but a cure time is always best to make the bar longer lasting and milder
Thanks Kenny. I have been soaping for three months now and tried to rebatch but did not let the soap melt properly. Oh well, I just put it in my car as a deodorizer. Ha ha. Now, I know how to do it right!
Thank you for watching. Bet it makes a great deodorizer
Turned out nice and creamy, just slightly rustic on top. Seems like the whipping helps making the soap smoother. Well done, and thanks! 👍😃🌷
Thank you ❤ I think that's why I liked the whipping - to get that smooth look. It has just enough rustic look.
Thank you for sharing this. I saw Kenny’s video too. I’m definitely going to give this a go. Love the idea of floating soap...or floap 👏🏻💕
Thank you for watching 😊 Floating soap is always popular
When you rebatch cold press bathing Soap can you use it immediately or you have to wait for some days
What type of essential oils do you use in use any I know the type I Can get where I live is wow And how much do you use Thank you Have a wonderful day
I don't remember the exact oils I used in this one. I think I named the blend in the video. If you check out eocalc.com they have great blends and tells you correct usage rates
Can I use it next in the next day.. thank you so much
As the soap is saponified, yes you can but like fresh soap, it is best to let it cure and dry out. This will depend on how much liquid you add
Thank you ❤ I love blood oranges - might have to look at adding to my EO stash. Will have to get some yogurt and try that
BMB Artistry hi
OMG, this is really cool!! I like the fact of making soap🧼, well rebatching it. I think I will try this, it seems somewhat simple 😅.
Have fun 🧡 it looks simple but you have to find the right balance of extra ingredients
would you (if you had a few batches that the scent didn't stay would you put all them together to rebatch?
Yes you could definitely do that. Just be sure to know what was in all the soaps so you can do your labels if needed
@@SoyandShea sorry meant to say different mild fragrances that faded??
@@pattisunnyflorida8595 that's what I thought you meant 😊 yes it's fine to do as the new fragrances will mask any old ones
Love this!!!!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for watching 🧡
I would love to know how much oil essential oil that you put in there I'm afraid I might put too much or too little
It depends on the oils you are using. Best to check the eocalc website as it will give you usage rates for your blend
@@SoyandShea Thank you so much! I was just about to try and mix them! Glad I asked and got your kind reply!
@@moonbee03 I'm sorry for the late reply. I don't always get notified of comments via the phone app and only saw when I was on the computer
@@SoyandShea Oh my! No! Not at all! You answered very swiftly! You'd be amazed... I have asked on some videos and three years later I am still waiting!
@@moonbee03 I know that feeling which is why I always try to answer comments but the odd one slips through 😔
Does metal pieces of blender hurt the crock pot surface, ma'am?
I've not found it does
I would recommend getting an old “Salad Master”.
That's a great idea thank you ❤
I would like to ask, when re- batching natural soaps doesn't, the essential ingredients like essential oils, vitamin E loses their potency?
Once you've used kitchen equipment for soaping, trust me, you'll only use it once for food again 🤣 my stick blender broke halfway through a soap once and that blender got thoroughly cleaned and put through dishwasher twice and the next soup I made tasted like soap 😆 I know some people say you don't need to keep separate but I have found I do
@@SoyandShea got it!!!
Hi,
I would like to know if it is a must to add sodium lactate? Please reply to me.
Much love,
Ps: love you work bless you
Sodium Lactate is not essential to any soap recipe but it does help with unmoulding the soap and hardening it up if you have a high soft oil recipe
Awesome video! What percent of essential oils did you add to the rebatch? The same you would in the original recipe?
Thank you ❤ I only added 2.5% to this just in case any of my FO was remaining from original soap. Soap Calc recommended up to 3% for the blend
Thank you. When I do my rebatch I just wanted to make sure I don’t add too much. I love lemon myrtle too!
Awesome thanks
Thank you for watching 🧡
Loved the video!!! I am vegan, could you recommend a plant based milk that may give the same results?
You can use any of the plant based milks or even just use water.
@@SoyandShea I was thinking coconut milk because it is thicker, but if water is an option that is awesome!! Thank you!
I finally got the issued fixed thank you 🧡
