    I do a TON of shopping for soap supplies online and eBates lets you get rebates at nearly every major online retailer, including Amazon, eBay, and Etsy. I literally save money just by opening up a tab in my browser via their link. I have already received a check from them within the first month so I just thought I would let you guys know about this since we soap makers and DIYers buy so much online! Plus, it's free! Yippee! :D

    Why not go to an actual warehouse(not the post office- a factory- to buy the cardboard boxes, peanuts and tape you need?? A manufacturer would be so much cheaper than all the eBay shipping and cost fees. I get boxes 1000 for 2 cents a box and packing tape- 50 for 45 dollars....a printing company prints my labels1000 for 30 dollars-....Peanuts-to help the environment- I went to a shirt factory and asked them to sell me their left over shipping peanuts(they were trashing them)- so, I get a Toyota truck load for 10 dollars!(the cost of plastic bags to put them in!). ..online buying is killing your profit!!! I own a clothing store and I ship so much its crazy!!!!- search and find the manufacturers of your packaging needs and I bet you can cut your cost by 3/4. Oh, and be ready to deal, girl. Don’t ever accept the first quote!!!! Treat it like a garage sale item....a business always quotes the highest price in order to catch a person who doesn’t know how to deal. Rule of my thumb?? I go 25% lower than the quoted amount then, meet them in the middle of that. Example: the business offers me boxes for 1000 dollars...i say I will pay 750- they hassle and fuss then, eventually they will say they can’t go any lower than 870.....I say, we have a deal! Yes, I buy big orders of stuff but, you can buy what you need....If you live in a big city, someone has what you need!!! You just have to find them!!!! That’s the tough part. Don’t be afraid to ask.....what can they say? Yes or no- a 50/50 chance you will get what you wanted! Rejection just means you haven’t found your place yet...keep moving forward!!!! FYI: I priced buying all my shipping needs thru EBay, Amazon and a packaging store but, it was three times higher than what I was already paying. Hope this helps you- I’m not the best at explaining myself....LOL. Be blessed!!! Lovely soap!!!! And video!

    I sell on eBay and was doing the whole routine, and started selling so many items I couldn't take it anymore and needed to cut down some step and cost anyway I could. Watching you do your labels made me nostalgic like, I remember those days. But then I found out about Rollo printers and it was the best time and money saving thing I have ever done. It's just under $200 and in the first year of using it I saved $3,000 in ink and big size sticker labels not to mention a ton of time. It prints perfect small 4x6 labels, no cutting no trimming, no paper wastage, it spits them out super fast, WAY faster than a normal printer, no taping them on, you peel and slap it on, and it uses heat transfer so you don't have to buy ink...EVER. If I remember right it's about .05 cents a label which is more than printer paper, but you save on using tape and lot's of time cutting and trimming and taping! Hope this helps someone. I know it helped my dad, I bought him one for Christmas.

    • @tsmuff
      @tsmuff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@anachristopher2973 Hello Ana! No I don't sell soaps. I mostly sell Christmas ornaments and makeup. Every sight has it's upsides and downsides and with every site you have a new audience and potentially more sales. There are people that have Prime memberships and like to buy from Amazon, and there are people that like to go to eBay and earn "eBay bucks" by spending there. So it's really up to you if you want to do one or the other or both. At the moment I make more money on eBay, but you do need to give it awhile to pick up and get a track record, positive reviews etc. so you start getting bumped up on the search lists. Even now some items sit there 3 months and I'm about to donate them and then someone buys one and they take off and within a couple weeks I've sold all of them. Anyways, hope that helps a little!

    Never made soap, I don’t intend to sell soap either. But I love how helpful this is to anyone who does want to and is starting out. A lot of the time it’s hard for beginner businesses to know how to do the smaller bits that all add up to making something look professional. So, sending you lots of love on behalf of all beginners xxxxxxxxxx thank you

    I dont understand why so many people want to use plastic wrap on their
    soaps. I mean doesn't soap need to breath? I am really torn about it. I
    really dont want to use plastic on my products, I don't see why it is
    necessary. I have looked into the biofilm that is biodegradable. Idk
    cant decide. I don't want to use plastic wrap because I don't want to aid in the pollution.

Any tips on how to get started? Some bigger items people make are expensive to ship. I love to make stuff. Thank you for expertise! @@3levatedvibes296 what I am learning is that you just need to START. I went from selling cupcakes, shirts, cups, meal prepping, and now I am doing jewelry. I am very creative but my time is limited so I just started making jewelry as a "chill time" and then decided to start selling. I have been to business school and let me tell you that you won't learn anything there lol I have learned everything I needed off TH-cam. Just find something that you like to do hair, nails, jewelry anything, then just get focused and learn everything you can about it until you are a pro! Sounds easy but anytime you go into business for yourself it is going to be hard because it all falls on you, but the goal is to do things that make you happy in life-good luck hope this helped.

      SunRise Arts & Crafts I have soap that has been shrink wrapped for 3 or more years and they are fine. The soap going bad would be more based on your recipe and the oils you use. Some, like hemp oil, have a very short (6 months) shelf life.
