U didn't replace the lamp . U just bought a new tail light

You can't replace the lamp, it's an LED. You have to replace the entire assembly. Otherwise you have to break open the assembly in order to replace the diodes. Not to mention it's not legal in certain states to have cracked light assemblies like that.
