  • In this video, we'll take a really quick look at one of Heathrow's most exciting new lounge openings courtesy of the fantastic Qatar Airways.
For year, Qatar has operated a First & Business class only lounge at Heathrow's Terminal 4. One World Alliance & Qatar's own Privilage Club members were unable to use this one and missed out on a truely Qatar Airways hosted pre-flight experience. With the debut of the Frequent Flyer lounge, those with One World Sapphire status and above can now get a taste of the Qatar ground experience regardless of class of travel - a huge bonus!
Really hope this video was useful to you, looking forward to picking up with you in the comments below.

If you do not mind me asking:
Do you ask for Corporate filming permission for these things or for flights?
Ground or cabin crew may not have sufficient authority, and they may not even be aware of this.
The Cahill drama may be an eye opener how to do these reviews

So with the airline reviews, my understanding is that it’s a public space so ok so film. Some airlines however are tightening the fine print just now so you can’t feature faces without permission which I think is fair enough, no one wants a camera in their face whilst relaxing on a flight etc.
The Cahill case is for sure an interesting one, more as a business case study more than anything else. It’s likely I’ll do stuff in partnership with the airlines in the years to come, would love to bring some behind the scenes stuff to the channel. The more value I can bring the community the better really but at the same time always being respectful to companies and individuals enjoying their services 👍

@@Travelsbydreamer one has to forge business relationships. This does not mean bowing down to any corporate, but being respectful. One can tell with you.
Another example is Marcel Brinkpeter. But his content is sth diff. 😊
About lounges (not the general terminal!) and aircrafts, these are business premises and not open to the public at will.
Therefore T&C apply and not what the likes of JC et. al. think.
Some influencers get away with xyz, some are treated better than others (connections) etc.
However, w/o a firm permission from a corporate rep with authority (FAs may not have this) one acts in a grey zone. This is what JC, NonStopDan etc. ignore or do not understand.
I appricate that you are looking at this in a mature way.
Sth to remember is that every single passangers may have to give permission. The original footage contains everybody in their full glory and one saves this footage in an archive.
This is again a privacy issue that no airline can override, whatever they think.
Certain cultures are extremly strict and one has to respect them. Otherwise one may face consequences as we have seen.
So this all may be a turning point as I wrote before.

@@theaccountant666 I think approach and tonality is absolutely key. Much about being respectful to the individual and the company. For me, I find it quite easy to maintain authenticity and building relationships with brands. As I so often say privately, if you can sit through a 8-12 hour flight with a premium carrier be it in business class or even economy and not find a raft of positive things to report, you’re either not paying attention or something’s up.
The Cahill case is showing how much power influencers have in any segment and the importance for brands to keep them on side or manage appropriately. Applies to any industry but if I was teaching a business course at degree level it would make for fascinating subject matter as it really does make a huge difference to the bottom line.

@@Travelsbydreamer Certainly! The marketing management on this is actually well established, dating back a couple of decades already. The technology changed but topics stay the same.
The learning curve for QR CS& marketing team has to happen.
As for (single) entrepreneurs, like influencers, their role is also clear from a business perspective and they have been around for a while too. Think about the long standing tradition of car reviews.
The problem for businesses is how to deal with amateur/semi-amateur or agenda driven influencers/ self-proclaimed auditors and how to manage them.
The worst would be if any carrier decides going after some influencers and starts suing. The landscape would change in an instant.
I wrote somewhere else how I (as QR) would have managed out JC.
Leave his QR account intact and decline any payment option (online error message). When JC calls CS for support, let CS tell him that this must be a glitch and he shall try in 24h again. Let this go on in perpetuity. 6 months later you delete his account and ban him. No connection to anything, you just blame a system glitch.
Extreme would be a Quatari no entry list or Visa rejection. US carriers do this too with real problem passengers.
On JCs end, is the clickbait, outrage P0rn paying off in the long run? Many YT have fallen out of grace as they lost touch and audience getting tired/ mature. Depending what the mileage is, one can make a lot of money and prop be set for life, if one plays smart. A career after this in a typical job might be difficult. The internet does not forget (the good, the bad & the ugly)

@Travelsbydreamer Are we really still talking about him? 😅 Professional content creators need to have some oversight or follow regulations or standards of some sort to distinguish themselves from casual vloggers who can say or write anything especially if they have the capacity to damage a business or another party. Some vetting process needs to happen if they make serious claims if they are authentic or merely aiming for virality. The landscape of youtube has changed from what it was 5 or 10 years ago.

Food and beverage options look good. The interior looks quite basic though but definitely a better place to wait for a flight than the main departure lounge.

Yeah too true. I perhaps didn’t do the seating areas justice but they were for sure nicely done. I’ve visited the upstairs lounge which is for sure better but seating wise perhaps not much of a difference. The dining and shower facilities put the business/first lounge well ahead 😊
