Flew on A380 from Sydney to Doha and I must say I was very shocked how different my experience with the plane was compared to my previous experience back in 2018, when I flew from Frankfurt to Miami. Had no issues with comfort, the food tasted better and generally it was a much better experience. On this, most recent experience, the comfort of the seat was terrible. 4 days after the flight and my back is still sore, the seat is very hard and there's no space if you're above average in size.
I had the same terrible experience from Cape Town to Bali in March, just the worst ever, nits gone down the drain , however A380 is always a different experience but mostly fly Doha to Heathrow return.
I just flew this aircraft 8 hours ago but from Doha to Heathrow. The staff were arrogant and rude and they just simply didnt care. Dinner was nice with a amazing pudding aswell but the breakfast was disgusting.
Good to hear some of the catering was up to the usual standards. Very rare to have anything other than a super crew with the airline. Hopefully a better trip next time!
Great review, did you get a lot of noise from business class lounge behind this seat? How does this seat compare to BA Premium economy on A380 in terms of space?
Thank you! BA premium economy for sure larger, largely thanks to the wider seat and also more leg room. So whilst the Qatar seat is very impressive for an economy seat, if you can get BA PE at a similar price I’d for sure go for it. Noise wise however, I didn’t notice anything in terms of disruption coming through from the lounge 😊
On a recent flight Doha-Osaka with Qatar Economy was the dinner excellent with Unagi (Japanese eel on rice) and the breakfast horrible with Chicken Cuirry or uneatable vegetarian pasta and no coffee

Hearing a few mixed reviews from Qatar these days which is really surprising. Never anything but a world class experience with them from my side but can’t get away from some of these opposing reviews these days which is interesting…
Thanks for the video, I'm flying to Adelaide via Doha in Feb. The leg from Heathrow is on their A380 on the upper deck in 30A there and 30K back which are both by the exit. Do these seats also have the in-flight entertainment screens? There's no seat directly in front of my seat for either flight so wondering how they do it.
great detailed review. i am taking this flight next week.i was surprised how late it is every day taking off from Heathrow, sometimes leaving only an hour for transfer but i am hoping it will be easy enough to transit in qatar. Not sure why this airport is so plagued with delays.People have told me to try gatwick next time.
Thanks so much, hope you have a fab trip! Issue at Heathrow is just sheer over capacity so if there’s a minor delay to operations they can never make up the time. An hour to transit in Doha will be fine though, all be it very large, it’s all one terminal. Enjoy - they’re a super airline!
Hi, thanks for the review. I’m an OW Status holder: Ruby. I’ll be flying round trip to Doha-Heathrow in December. I’m torned between the B777 300 ER and A380. Which one can you most recommend? And do they give us a chance to choose a seat during check in, given the OW status we have? Thanks so much

Thank you! That’s a really good question, I think if I was a little taller, I’d for sure consider it. That said, I’m 180cm and never have any issues legroom wise. The A380 really is a lovely aircraft to fly on, on your next flight, if you board early you can always ask to visit the cockpit, if they’ve got time they might let you pop up quick ahead of departure. It’s tricky though with timings etc but you never know
@@Travelsbydreamer I mean after landing they let us have a look, but first just give pilot or flight attendant a permission to enter the cockpit.
