I have a 2013 Kia Optima. Drove it the first 2 years and put 60k miles on it. Then I had it sit in my garage for 6 years with no start-up/movement. Replaced the dead battery, and started it up and there were no issues. I use the Hyundia/Kia canister filters and only synthetic oil every 5k miles.
I have a 2013 optima 1,7 crdi and i see he uses this oil filter but when i put it in amazon it says this doesnt goo on a Kia optima a is suggesting me a filter you would use on a audi why
I did that but it’s been a couple days and I noticed it’s been leaking oil. I used a new washer from the dealer. I don’t want to over tighten out of fear of stripping the bolt.
@@josepantoja4397 I would suggest to go back retighten the drain bold as well as the oil filter. Then make sure to clean all the old surrounding oil (to eliminate this possibility and find the leak if it happens again)
$30 for oil and $13 for filter? You need to hit up Walmart for Super Tech for $19.68 for thr 5 quart jug and $3 for the filter. The oil is made by Warren who also makes mobile1. Full synth for $20 a jug. People have also done a tear down of thr filter and its made way better than Fram and the other garbage
Warren does not make Mobile 1 oil. Mobile 1 is actually made and distributed by Exon Mobil (Esso). The Esso labs put in their own additives to the oil as do all the other major Oil companies, like Shell (Penzoil) BP (Castrol) Petrol Canada (Petrol Canada Oil) Warren makes oil for Wal Mart, Costco and Amazon. All CPI approved and Dexos approved!

Fellow Canadian- 🇨🇦👍😎 - thank you!
Thanks a lot, that was helpful
Appreciate this video so much
Very thorough, ...thanks!
Please tell me you put a new washer on the drain plug.
I did yes, sorry didn't capture that in the video 😅
Did you get that at Kia too? 😊
Question, since the oil filter is put right side up do you have to fill up the oil filter before-tightening?
Not necessary to fill with oil, just add some oil to the outer gasket with your finger
@@Mohamedsarris thank you for the quick response

BEAUTIFUL !!
Great help
do you need to tigh the oil filter>? mine is always leaking, i tight oil filter by hand only
By hand should be sufficient. If it's leaking, it's not tight enough...
I tried unscrewing by hand and was unsuccessful. I think their is a cap style that unscrews it...(oil filter)
Hi, you might need a tool to help you remove the oil filter if it's on too tight
Song?
You didn’t show how you took off the filter
Likely twisted it to the left😂💀
He didn't show anything
What size is that oil filter ?
If you dont want the oem hyuandai kia filter, it also takes:
Mobil1 M1-104A
Fram 9688
ACDelco pf1127
K&N1004
Purolator 14459
What is the oil drain plug torque spec?
Only need to hand tighten first and the lightly with a wrench until it's snug

Thanks I will do that
@@josepantoja4397. What I do every oil change is put black rtv silicon along the inside edge of the drain plug and I have never had a leak problem.
