Parker, you just saved me some serious dough!!! My ignition coil in cylinder 1 went bad, so I searched TH-cam and found your tutorial on plugs, so I changed them while I was under the hood. Thanks!!

Solid Video, shows the over all basics. It was not mentioned in the video, but what type of plugs did you replace the OEM with and did you have to GAP them?

The gray lock tab or clip would not slide back on my connectors and all of them broke. Do you know what the part number is for the gray locking tab?

Should use a dab of Never-Seez on the threads since the head is Aluminum.

BUT AT WHAT MILEAGE DO THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED ????

    • @parkerbengtzen

Owners manual sais 120k miles as long as you use iridium plugs

Owners manual states 120k miles for the 2.4l gdi engine. Iridium plugs can last up to 200k miles so changing at 120k is actually overkill.

I agree but the spark plug manufacturer recommends not using it as they are now using a crush washer and less torque specs are needed.

Not to hate, but you need to disconecct the battery negative for safety first and also clean the valve cover from all the dust you have..also when you tightened it you said you did a half turn but you did a quarter horrible and dangerous video...guys do no do this ate home please!

Well I have to agree he didn't use a torque ratchet to tighten down the spark plug theres a special type of rachet to tighten down the plugs!
