No tool is the wrong tool if you don't break anything and you get the job done! I love my 72 Impala that was bought new by my grandparents. 400 small lock with TH350 trans and only 70k miles on it. The torque is quite impressive for a low compression engine pulling over 2 tons of car!

I had one exactly like that, with a 400 cubic inch engine. The interior was brown, not white. I bought mine used in '74. It was one heck of a car.

23:11 Late 80's Olds 88 coupe in the background....
Growing up, neighbors had 72 Impala coupe like yours, also 400 cid in the butterscotch color 'Driftwood'. Our 72 Kingswood same color & motor

Sure is a lot easier for me to sit in my lazy chair and watch Mr Pliers work on old cars than for me to drag my butt down to the shop and get anything done myself.

So cool! I am impressed by how you were careful, and methodically disassembled the steering column and shift linkage so the car could be moved, instead of just smashing the key out, or yanking the car around "as is". My first car was a 73 Caprice coupe, drove it over 240,000 miles with the original engine and tranny. The northeast weather finally consumed it though. I can honestly say that if someone offered my any car, I would chose that car in new condition, perhaps in convertible form with a 454 though. I dream of having the skills/money/facility to do a frame off restoration on one of these great cars.

Very nice video! I remember in the fall of 1972 seeing the 1973 model Chevy's, it was the first year for the 10 mph style bumper. 72 and 73 were the last years you could buy a nice car before all the regulations started to take hold, then they started to use that cheap steel, its just amazing what a 1975 Cadillac would look like in 1980, in Chigo, very rusty.

Im not a GM guy but.... that car as a 2 door ....I think is worth spending money on....its got it's own kind of presence in the fuselage body style era. Mopar nailed it .. even mastered it and led in that design era like the forward design cars. Only lasted maybe 3 0r 4 years because...THIS CAR......IMO..... HAS THAT FUSELAGE LOOK WITH THE ....PUT A WEIGHT ON MY GRILLED CHEESE....COPY? ITS FLATTERERER.....LOL
AND THE DECK LID WITH THE VENTING....ETC... FROM ABOVE LOOKING DOWN....PRETTY... TAILLIGHTS ARE COOL..... DRIVETRAIN COULD BE A BIG BLOCK NO PROBLEM... GOT DISK BRAKES....I RAMBLE....
    SURPRISINGLY ...I LIKE IT
Also... if a crescent wrench isn't used as a hammer what is it used for?
