I thinnkk the Fleetline was used as a farrier or branding unit - there likely was some fences to corral the cattle on the right side and the bumper was some kind of a support for the fence sections.. The right side was damaged by the animals pushing against it - just my guess.
That custom build with the shelves inside cleaned out and made drivable with some steelies and grandpa grips on the rear would be a great conversation piece and local cruiser. Hope it finds a good home.
The plan to build a car from 1 part hit close to home. Found a 32 radiator shell in a barn I was hired to tear down ended up with a 5w coupe with only 2 repro parts ( deck lid and fuel tank ). Frame that had been made into a wagon ,body shell that had been used for erosion control etc. Took awhile every part on it has a story.
If everyone would have left at once, that would have been a very impressive convoy!! Glad you are rescuing all this stuff. Many cannot be completely restored, but there seems to be a lot of parts that can be restored and reused.
man, that first junked 48 4dr has good bumper guards, bumpers, door handles, tail light medallion, inner dash parts and window frames, all kinds of good stuff
Great video of them being loaded up and hauled to your friend's place. He has an amazing bunch of cars and trucks from the looks of the video that you were able to share with us. It is good that he was able to get these and hopefully most of them will get purchased to be restored or put into restoration projects. My favorite is the Mystery Fleetline. It looks like a farrier may have had it. Perhaps the side was used to drop a hitching post into so he could tie the horses to it while he was shoeing the one that he was doing. The front could have been something for it too. Who knows for sure. It sure is a neat and interesting car the way it is set up. I appreciate that you shared these videos and it was great watching the series. Keep it up.
That’s a lot of Chevys! The green one with the Poly was a sleeper for sure! Be fun to dig into that one and see if it was hopped up at all and get it back on the road again! 😁
Nice series of videos. I hope some of those old beauties make it back on the road some day. I do think it's a shame that they scrap any of the old classics that still have donor parts.
This was great, especially after seeing the vid of the cars getting crushed. Didn’t see a lot of Tri Five and newer. Mostly post war to 54. Glad they were saved. Thanks for showing this. Had to watch it twice.
That is amazing these places you find with all those classic cars another great video they do not have nothing that I know of in vero beach fl glad to see they have a new home what happened to the guy that owned them.
That’s very cool, sometimes here in Central Indiana I’ll drive by what used to be a farm or somebody still living there but there’s trucks and cars and tractors all over the place that aren’t used any more, kind of like a living junkyard that they own, sometimes I feel like stopping and just want to look around but I don’t think they would like that very much. Great video!
Wow what a great find of great American vintage cars, i wish i could own some land in the woods and find some of these great classic cars and make them my very own😃😃
Awesome collection of Chevrolet vehicles! I never would think that many would be together in 1 place in this day and age! Thanks for filming it! I can't believe they put 80-85 Cadillac Seville in iron box! Looked like a pretty nice car! My father had a 81 de elegant model with 6.0L V8 4,6,8 fuel injection! You don't see many on the road anymore! 2dr s-10 blazer didn't look bad either! Glad you got some good parts to resell on eBay! Take care.
Thank you for the videos of the old cars i have collected old grain trucks over the years i still would like to find a 1956 dodge C3 2 ton truck with a poly engine
That car looked like it had some kind of a rack on it something like you would see on a pickup truck to carry a ladder… I had a uncle that had a car like the one you got cool looking … great video Tim thanks for sharing ….
On what the fleet line was used for: I think this was a traveling salesman's car. My Dad had the back of his Fairlane set up in a similar manner. We used to say he kept it in the Dewey Decimal System 😂😂🎉
I saw them crush several cars and it broke my heart I have a 37 2Dr Sedan and I remember how hard it was to find a good right front fender 35 years ago
I'm not really a fan of Chevrolet. But those Arrow sedans were really cool cars. The Styling they had was just awesome. I also did like that early fifties Pontiac. Since I collect Pontiacs. Enjoy your videos. You definitely know what you're talking about which makes it very enjoyable . Keep up the good work. A loyal viewer.
Thanks again for stopping by the channel William! Joe bought a Pontiac streamliner fastback at the junkyard auction last fall, which quickly found a new home. They seem to be very popular vehicles!
Every one of these cars had a life in the history once upon a Time.. now they will scattered all over the USA. Perhaps starting another life somewhere else?? Such and interesting Legacy.
Morning Tim, watching your video, can't help but wonder how long it took that fella to drag each car to his farm, it was sad to see those 1.5 trucks cut in half for the cab...the Chevrolet with the Chrysler drive train was pretty cool..the guy doing the loading did his best not to damage the purchased vehicles anymore than he had to...glad to see most went to good homes..Tim, what was the coolest or rarest car there? Be safe!! God Bless!!
In my opinion the Mystery Fleetline was the most unique. These were all fairly high production vehicles with the exception of the 1942s which were only built for half of the model year before factories switched over to defense production.
That's an old style 303ci poly block v8 maybe a 277ci that car was built back in the early 50s I sure hope it gets restored as is as a street hot rod of the 50s. Not really fast per say. But I bet it could hold its own around town back then . lol. May even been built a shine runner who knows .
The Nebraska Chevy Farm…. Good one. The Dog is saying “ Just the crust Mr Goodpliers, just the crust….. please”. Thank you for the Crust. Man, that’s Tons of American Steel to move. That car might have been the Local Sheriffs unmarked Police Car with a Push Bumper. 😎👍🇨🇦
The old man was very centered around 1940s to 1954 cars, with the one exception being 1956's. There were around 20 more 1956 Chevy's which were sold before these remaining ones were sold.
@@mr.goodpliers6988 ok , thanks I’m still looking , 55 Chevy 2or4 door roller or 57 2or4 door roller, shop no rust barn or yard find with the perfect patina, nice 👍, the less parts the better, and the less parts the lower the price, 👍👍👍👍👍👍☝️☝️☝️👍👍🙏🙏🙏thanks BigAl California.
That's good to see. My parents first date was in a '48 Chevy. Great to see. I was conceived much later - I suppose if that was my time I would have been more of a Chevy guy. ha ha ha
The black an green cars on the trailer together an id guess a plumber or roofer an we had the episode of american pickers with you in it last week here in oz at last
@@mr.goodpliers6988 hello, i need someone to pick up a 55 merc sunvalley 2dr ht the body is straight but has rust in the floors its all there the glass top all trim is there it is under a pole shed been out of the elements over 20 years doesnt run all tires are flat/rotten not sure if the tires/wheel roll A winch on a trailer would be best Later this year i need it hauled from Grantville Ga to murdock kansas Murdock kansas is 30 miles west of wichita kansas Any person interested let me know
I GOTTA SAY... I WAS REALLY PISSED TO SEE THOSE CARS GET CRUSHED!! ESPECIALLY THE OLD ONES!! SCRAP GUYS THAT CRUSH OLD IRON ARE DISGRACEFUL!! NO NEED FOR THAT! ....BUT, I ENJOYED SEEING WHAT GOT SAVED!
The star of the show was the black dog! The cars...not so much. You've seen one rusty heap, you've seen them all. Most of them look like good candidates for teardown and parts recycling for the better vehicles out there on the road.
I believe that was the main reason for buying these cars. Hard to find decent body parts for cars of these vintages. At least these cars will live on as donors through other cars so they are not wasted.
This is subjest to better knowledge but here goes: In 1942 Chevrolet mad some Fleetlines. It had to do with the trim on the front fenders and rear fender skirts. Some with the slooped rear were called Aerosedans. That lasted until 1949.when the Aerosedan name was scraped and all the slopped rears were called Fleetlines instead of Aerosedans.. Please excuse my spelling but that about it, I believe.
The Chevy is a farrier’s vehicle ( horse shoeing ). Those are lead rope ties on the side and dents from uncooperative horses. Their might be an old rodeo rider that would love that historic vehicle. Farriers never have to advertise, every horse person knows who the local ones are.
i`m glad to see these cars going to a good home and being saved

I'm screaming!! I want one!
These are available. I have included Zack's contact in the video description box
I wish they saved all and back on the road ☺️☺️ thanks again
Reminds me of the Bullocks sale in Nebraska when I set all the cars for the auction.
i like that 1960 chevy. Glad these got saved.

It must be fun to go to all these auctions and see these old cars and trucks and equipment and the story behind it all. Wish l had a job like that.

Nice crop of cars. Glad some will be saved.👍
Crop is definitely the operative word... A field of vintage tin ripening in the sun!

Interested in the 46s and 42 possible a couple others

@ D Owen - Agree, that one really should either be cleaned up n preserved or redone in its current iteration.
wow I've never seen a hatchback caddy like that
If I didn't know better I'd think those cars grew out of the Nebraska corn fields...
The Nebraska Chevy Farm…. Good one. The Dog is saying “ Just the crust Mr Goodpliers, just the crust….. please”.

My guess would be a plumbers car. Racks on side for carrying pipe.
The Black Lab steals the show
Almost wonder if there was a ladder rack on the fleetline. this fellow must have been some sort of a handyman?
The black an green cars on the trailer together an id guess a plumber or roofer an we had the episode of american pickers with you in it last week here in oz at last

11:27 that green bel air, whats the roof style called? I have one like that on blocks and I need parts SO bad
I think the first or second video has the info on it. Think its a 50. If its the middle green one its in the 2nd video at 9 mins in.
That fleetline is cool. Strikes me as a old governmet fleet car. Maybe department of ag.

Each of those cars can easily fetch $683K as they sit.
I guess that Chevrolet was used for working in the woods and bringing home lumber hanging on the side of the car ?
Maybe also used for hunting ?
Great series vids on Chevy farm
And yeah buid a car 1 piece at a time
All the hubs rolled? The old farmer who stuck them on blocks must have gone out and rotated his crops so to speak.
The Dog looks just exactly lie my Pit Lab, Most loyal friend on earth.
We've had Labs, Heelers and Australian Shepherds. The best dogs there are, as long as they have tons of room to run!
Somebody pet that poor dog! LOL
I didn't get much footage of it, but he did get some attention from the wives and children
And a little pecan pie from me

the 47 coupe is a twin to mine

What are they going to do with all those old cars
The guy who bought them deals in vintage parts and project cars. They are available. His contact is in the video description box
I would have taken some of the later models lol
Do you know where these ended up going? I sure could use some parts from a 52 hardtop
Thanks for stopping by the channel Brian. I have included Zack's contact in the video description box.
💯TRUE HISTORY 🥂🍾🥩😎🇺🇸
rust is a nice soft color
How come not all the cars rated wheels?
I think that was just how he stored them. Cars up on blocks and wheels in the barn

I never asked
All of the bumpers need to be s@ved right, thet repop what bumpers, thanks BigAl California.
He may have been a painter and decorator perhaps he kept a ladder down on the side
Would have loved to have all those old license plates off the cars destined for scrap.
Say, what make and model was that car was wrecked and scrapped it was a 1947.
How much for the 1949 fleet line 2 door ?
Thanks for stopping by the channel Jorge. I have put Zack's contact info in the video description box
About how much did they go for just wondering Thank you
I never asked.
They may have been sold as a package, or negotiated individually

Obviously he was a drummer. Mystery solved.
Do you have the information of the man who owns the yard
Yes, it is in the video description box.
