The '65 Rambler Ambassador Wagon was right up my alley. I like the styling on those, and it looked to be relatively complete and in good shape on the outside, unlike most of the other cars here.
The auction company should have taken the time to match-up vehicles to the titles that they had- that CAN (but not always) make a difference in what a buyer is willing to pay for it- or at least it makes a difference to those who want to re-sell them- Excellent vid Tim- keep it up!
Tractors and farm implements were the real money makers, the Vega looked promising from what I could see from my lazy boy. Your self discipline in knowing when to stop bidding was spot on imo. 👍Thanks for sharing the auction , I enjoyed the video.👍
You made the right decision on the Karmann-Ghia. What people don't realize is that although built on a humble Beetle floor pan the body is constructed like any coach-built high dollar car from the 50s like Maseratis, Ferraris or Jag XK120-150s, namely semi hand made panels fitted together individually and everything welded together. The bits are available but you need to know what you're doing to get good fit and panel gaps. People are aware of it, which means that unless it's more or less rust-free you won't make much on re-sale - if at all, this car being as rotten as a peach. I did not see too much in the way of spares on it either, I presume the chrome was pitted and the interior was thrashed. So count your blessings!
Oh i did finish watching the video in between washing Dishes, cooking & Eating. lol that did answer some of my questions. Nice Save on the Motor Cycles. They have been quite desirable in recent years do to You Tube Again Thank You for the Videos.
It was a YH code. Some guys said there was a 500CFM two barrel offered on V8s. I wondered if someone swapped a two barrel on during gas crunch years to try to improve MPG?
Back in the summer you bought a pair of 1961 model pontiacs a four door and a two door. Did the two door sale ? Just curious if it’s gonna be restored or used for parts.
I'm planning on using it for a bubble top conversion on a 1962 Bel Air, if I can find one. The Pontiac is a stripped shell, so it's not much more than a roof donor
A couple of them would have been realistically restorable. The condition of the vehicles was more of a turn-off than missing titles. Most of them would have been too old to be anything more than wall hangers. It's easier to get a new one than mess with one that is still in the name of a deceased person
i have never seen rust anywhere in the world as these states that used salt or chemicals.. i know nothing about Missouri but 20+ other states are terrible for rust.. its the floors and rocker panels and rear 1/4 panels,, nobody wants to fix them.. love these Auctions mate. I would LOVe to see Elon Musk or Bill Gates,, get a program going where they buy all these cars and many more and start a program for homeless kids to learn restoration skills and all the cars are Auctioned and the money goes back into the program., they are learning a dying craft and its putting all these cars and trucks back into homes to be loved again. I know it was a long way & no trailer but still... a Simple Flip with the rearend installed & scrap the wagon. Did they have a loader available? What amazes me If i was the Auctioneer & the owner I wouldda put those titles in Year order & with a Quick glimpse couldda found the titles easy enough to get more $$$ for the vehicles. Big mistake by the auctioneer. AND Always... Why did I by those cars? "Because they Need Me." The two door had a hole in the frame (in the part that was visible). The real money on these cars is in the four door hardtops, so I would have parted both out. I have three ready to go now, so I'm not feeling too froggy to acquire a bunch more unless they're cheap. No loader was available, so they would have been a chore to load. There was a file folder stuffed full of titles. They hadn't gone through them - I suspect some may have been extras for vehicles already sent to the great junkyard in the sky. I don't think titles or no titles affected what was sold here all that much - there weren't more than a couple of them still feasibly restorable. One of the motorcycles did have a title, but it's just something to frame in the shop - for something that old, it's just easier to start over with our state's antique title process
@@mr.goodpliers6988 I've heard that if you are into old vehicles you need a friend in Kansas. I did manage to get a bonded title in Nebraska in 2014. But when I was looking at another vehicle in 2016 that was in Iowa, they (Iowa) wouldn't tell me the last registered owner (change in privacy laws) so I couldn't complete the steps necessary. I don't know about now, but at that time Nebraska required a title inquiry in Nebraska, and in the state that you purchased the car. Anymore, I won't buy a vehicle without a title unless it is for scrap price.

All Ambassadors of this era seem to have significant cowl rust that takes out the floors

It took cues from the Stutz II and Duesenberg II from the late 60s. Those styling motifs were unique, but not for everyone
It looked different and I liked it a lot in its day. I still prefer it to the Catalina grills which came immediately after.
