The battle is in the mind....sums up golf completely. An insightful teacher
Thanks very much Sailesh.
All the best, Adam
This short clip captures all the main things that are holding me back. When I'm playing well, I can feel the club (my wrists) load at the top during transition, but that requires tension in the right places (joints) which requires perfect balance and rhythm. For me, timing, balance, and rhythm are all crucial to sound play, and sadly, I fell like not nearly enough YT instructors talk about these things enough. Thanks, Adam! Oh, and I had the pleasure of playing Mediterra several years back and it was truly a treat!
Nice to hear from you
Very wise golf tutor…..best I ve seen ! Will definitely be looking at your website ……you make the swing strong again ! Strong again !
Thanks very much Jimmy
Learning how to let the club 'hang back' in my downswing is one of the main things that I've finally learned to revolutionize my game. It's just a hard thing for people to feel. I'm teaching my dad right now and he has none of this at the current moment. I'm going to get him to do that little in the fingers 8 iron drill you suggested to get him to better feel that clubhead lag, magical move that is so elusive for so many people. Thank you Mr Bazzelget(probably spelled that all wrong) for all your great tips.
Thanks Oliver, and hope your dad makes good progress.
All the best, Adam
I
Yeah this is the last piece of the swing puzzle. I finally have it after years of struggling. It’s so unnatural at first but eventually feels great once you get it.
“The battle is in the mind” .... now I understand. Thank you.
Hope you make good progress Geary.
All the best, Adam
Lost my game few years ago mainly due to age. Been frustrated since and glad I came across this video. Probably the best golf tip I’ve seen. Thanks.
Thanks, hope you get back to playing well.
All the best, Adam
This video is a real gem. Great swing breakdown and great drills to get the feel. Thanks.
Thanks Jeffrey,
Glad you found the video helpful

Thanks Michael.

Great video, i love the part with the club in the relaxed right hand. Thanks a lot from Germany.
Thanks very much Bernd.
All the best, Adam
Found your channel a few days ago, enjoying every lesson, I saw since then. You are a great coach! The way you explain and describe is outstanding. Regards from Germany
Thanks very much Philipp, glad you like the videos.

I love the way he turns through the ball; his tempo is a thing of BEAUTY IMHO...
Thanks very much Robert

You know Adam , you just mentioned my problem , thinking a little too much, do you know not many couches on the internet talk about mine conscience, worry .... thanks Adam this video is for me.
Have a good night. Life bless you.
Thanks. Glad you found the video helpful
Very useful as per usual Adam. Many thanks for guiding us. The exercise with the bag is great!
Thanks Carlos, glad you liked the video.
All the best, Adam
Adam, what can I say, you are the BEST! Your instruction is always insightful and spot on. I've got the Lag Shot now and that has been able to help with not rushing the downswing. Best tip if you will from this video is "continue to store power on the downswing". I was always releasing the stored power way too early. Thanks again.
Thanks very much Rick, and glad you're making progress.
Best, Adam
absolutely great advice. it makes sense when you explain it...thank you
Thanks Ron, glad you found the video helpful.

Thank you again Adam - very useful and as always, beautifully articulated and presented. I look forward to integrating these drills into my practice regime. I hope all is well for you in sunny Florida (on those gorgeous manicured fairways...). Thank you and cheers from Sydney, Australia - Dave

Thank you so much Adam! Another magical lesson- feel like you’re watching me practice, this one just popped out to me after I came back from the range and I just had a sweet feeling of not rushing down swing by hitting 10 meters further, and your teaching and drills made everything so clear!
Thanks Mindy, and glad you made good progress.
All the best, Adam
Your an actual genie only found the channel a few days ago and already I'm barley swinging the club letting the body and club do the work and hitting farther then I was going full pelt
Happy to hear you are seeing improvement.

Great suggestions. I really enjoyed the part about loading the club and drills.
Thanks Ron, glad you liked the video.

Excellent video with plenty to think about.
Thanks, glad you liked it Steve.

As always super helpfull and easy to bring into my practice and rounds. Really like the supersoft wrists part..creates loads of stretch reflex in the trial hand(lag) without having to think or do it on purpose...this is exactly what i mean when i say we should be responding to the club...big fan of this channel...thank you
Thanks!

Awesome video, you explained this very well. Now all I have to do is execute it properly. Your tips will help with that for sure though👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the comment.

Adam, best advice I ever got...relax...get a certain feel...look for it in a larger swing...FORGET ABOUT THE OUTCOME...dissolve the 'hit instinct' and clear my mind probably helped the most. I've made much better contact with the ball with much less effort. I try not to think about what I'm doing and ironically, much of the time the outcome is even better. Thank you! Still work to do.
Thanks Barry, glad the video was helpful.

Thanks Fernando
As pretty much most of us, one of my misses is due to jerking the club over the top.
I try and trick my body to do a more natural rhythm by very slightly pausing at the top of my backswing.
It allows me to “notch the arrow” and facilitates a more natural downswing.
It’s a constant struggle, so I look forward to checking out some of these drills as well.
Thanks!
Thanks Phil, hope you make good progress.

Pivot versus turn excellent explanation!
Thanks Christopher
the more I relax my arms and hands during a swing, the better I swing. It's really easy for me to over grip and tense up during a swing. unless I'm actually paying attention to that...It doesn't feel as if I'm doing it / I was surprised at the distance I was getting from an iron by staying relaxed- opposed to trying to blast the ball.
Thanks for the comment.

Glad you liked the video John.
All the best, Adam
Great tip about the fingers at the bottom of the handle. The too tight death grip is a killer...just like driving while holding a steering wheel. It's amazing how much of the swing seems as though it is to be more supple than aggressive. My dad used to ask me "what's your hurry" during the downswing but there is no urgency. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the comment. I like your Dad's line!
Best, Adam
I discovered the sensation of pivoting your body with my swing quite by accident during a practice session recently and noticed the improvement immediately on the course. Being a new golfer I wasn't sure what I was doing was right, because well, I have tried a lot of weird things along the way so far. Thank you for this clear explanation of a concept I hope to work on as I practice.
Also, I love Molinari as an example! Of all the guys on tour, it seems as if his swing is "intentional and designed to hit the ball consistently as much as possible". I would also use Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott as examples of this.
Thanks Dan, and good suggestions.
All the best, Adam
Amazing to watch and listen to your work
I have gone from 1988 Brosnan Mustangs
Too stealth and E722 amazing in performances
Thanks Wayne, and glad to hear of your progress.

Great video.

Nice Adam, Love the Bag Drill followed by the 2 finger grip on the shaft. When you did the 2 finger grip the Shaft aligned more with your Right Forearm. Love that. The club then sets and Lags from the top. (No Bounce out) Core Sent Rhythm & Balance is key for me! Good Stuff my friend...
Hello Dave!!

Steven,

Thanks again Adam for your great wisdom and insight. Synchronizing the pivot just helped me enormously. It's a wonderful swing thought to complete the backswing and get in a good position. I struggle with short rushed swing and your advice proved a great antidote.
Thanks for the comment.
All the best, Adam
thanks alot that's my prob
Hope you get it sorted out!
Best, Adam
This is for me. LOL. I'm always trying to crush it. Thank you!!
Thanks Brandon.

Thx again for all the great videos. Curious if you feel like it’s a bad idea to feel as if you’re initiating the downswing with the hands/arms as opposed to the lower body? Thank you!
Thanks Travis.
It depends on what your tendencies are. The goal is good form, and sequence with all the moving parts. If you are a player (most aren't) whose lower body gets to jumpy and you can't get the club caught up, then it might me a good thought.
Best, Adam
Glad to advise that, separately, my Mobile has received access so I can proceed. I was using my Laptop, which didn't allow me access.
Kenneth,
Glad you've got it sorted out. If you have problems please email Michelle at michelle@scratchgolfacademy.com
All the best, Adam
Just started following you very interesting could you lead me to the video or do one again where you load the club or the club head on the backswing
Thanks Howie. I have a number of videos more or less on that subject. If you can subscribe to the channel you'll see the list.
All the best, Adam
Nice
Thanks
I NEED NEED NEED to do this!! On the range I’m fine, but get me out on the course and I’m like a kid in a sweet shop!! 😩 Costing me so many shots!!
I hear you!

Blair Sterling easier said than done.
Excellent video! Tons of great information. I hope people take what you said seriously. Its difficult for most of us guys to relax and turn down our testosterone. But when I do, the ball goes further and straighter every time.
I would like to request your take on the mental aspect of the game. I have read some sports psychology books and I have averaged 5 strokes better, sometimes 10 strokes better. No more 1st tee jitters and when I cant warm up I actually start better than ever before.
Thanks very much Mark.

Nigel is excellent.
Is that a scrub Jay in the background?
Birdie!
Thanks Fritz. Regards your question, I'm not sure.
All the best, Adam
Thanks for the drill Adam. I read in Hogan’s book that he used to make practice swings without his right thumb and index finger on the club to feel the release of the club head. This has helped me out a lot.
Brian,
I've also heard things like that about Hogan, pretty interesting.
Thanks, Adam
^^~good ^^ 입니다 👍
Thanks for watching the video.

ExtrA GOOD
Thanks Paul.

Great vid, again! I would say the majority of mid-high handicappers would benefit from slowing down the swing. When I get it right and get the swing into the 'slot' the rest of the swing seems effortless, smooth and much better club head speed! If only I could get it consistently and not fall back into trying to smash the ball, I'd be in single figures! 🏌😤
Thanks for the comment, and I hear you regards staying in a good rhythm!
All the best, Adam.
Good tips. I’m working on starting my downswing with lower body before reaching the top with my hands. I’m sure this messes with timing. Should I slow down some on the course, or just forget about the change when playing ?
Peter,
I'd work on the range towards not thinking (that is to say, not mapping it out with your conscious mind) while swinging. The mind can do this with practice. You can (and likely should) have a clear intention, then relax and let it happen.
Hope this helps.
Best, Adam
Adam, a wonderful video. I have a question on something I struggle with. I don't know how to keep centered around my my core as you show here, and shift my weight to the front on the downswing. Any suggestions/videos I should look at? Thanks again!
Thanks Jesse.
I have a number of videos on the pivot, and the start of the downswing at this channel, I hope you'll find them helpful.
All the best, Adam
@@Scratchgolfacademy Thanks Adam!
I like! Parking lot to F1...
Thanks William.
All the best, Adam
I think the loading tip is great for improving lag. Add this drill with an impact bag for forward shaft and you’re on your way.
Thanks for the comment.
Best, Adam
A slow motion clip of each described instruction would be extremely helpful
Thanks for the input.
All the best, Adam
What is your thought Adam on lifting the left heel a little on the backswing to trigger hips first in downswing by stamping the heel down?
Wayne,
It's worked for a lot of people...give it a try.
All the best, Adam
Very good video. It help me a lot. As a friend of mine says: God give me strength to play slowly.
Glad you found the video helpful Pedro.
All the best, Adam
As a "better" player all my life, I always played with "better" players too. And as we struggled individually, we always told each other "you are too quick today". And quickness always comes when you have not recently played very much. I lived about 400 feet from the first tee of my private CC. And I ALWAYS walked over to the golf course to tee off very slowly. If I did hit a couple of wedges as I walked over I swung very slowly too using lots of late hit delay. Walking over there to the first tee I was just like Julius Boros was all the time. I arrived at the first tee with slowness pre-programmed into my brain before I got there. And I literally always hit a very good first tee shot right from the get go. In fact, I was so confident I liked to show off before others waiting to go next. BTW - We did not have much of a practice range.
Thanks for the comment
Best, Adam
Hi Adam, do you have an instruction to stop dipping into the down swing?
I’ll try to get a video made on that subject
Best, Adam
Gooooooooooood
Thanks, glad you liked the video.
All the best, Adam
Hi - my coach has recently noticed that I am over rotating my hips in the backswing and I simply cannot clear my hips in time with the rest of my swing - leaving me flipping and blocking. I notice that Mols right knee stays flexed during the backswing - do you have any guidance to share?
Andy,
There are different styles of swing, some with more hip pivot in backswing (say, Bobby Jones) than others. That said, I agree that you want to build some resistance between upper and lower as you go back. The trail hip should go back (away from ball) and up a bit, which means the right leg will straighten some.
Hope this helps.
Best, Adam
Adam, what are thoughts on the Orange Whip?
Christopher,
I like the Orange Whip. I think it gives a nice feel for storing energy in the club, and then for releasing it.
Best, Adam
@@Scratchgolfacademy Thank you. I tend to rush at the top with my hands and arms and load the shaft and pull the ball. The whip seems it would help that.
Good stuff, let the club head energy build...then sweep it through, once you learn to trust it...your game will improve.
Thanks for the comment.
Best, Adam
Love these drills especially the pivot drill which has stopped me ‘swaying’ off the ball and got me turning properly.
thanks for the comment Tim.
Best, Adam
Completing the backswing is another way. Many never get to the top of backswing, or finish, and begin downswing too soon. Timing issue. I implement a tiny pause or "rest" at the top and then the pushing the ground with my feet/hands "dropping in" motion. Sitting down on the shot. The delay at the top of the backswing allows the proper initiation of the next critical move; the down (and in) swing. Try to hit it hard, though, is 90% of the reason for a hurried, over the top, downswing.
Thanks for the comment, all sounds good.
Best, Adam
Very well put sir!
I really move off the ball in the backswing. Would love to be able to turn my shoulders 90 degrees and stay fairly centered.
Hope you can sort it out Ben.
All the best, Adam
Your right hip moves directly away from the target line, think about pushing your hip joint back not "around". Around will cause a sway, a pivot directly away from the target line will keep you centered
@@WereAllThatBored Thanks..
Just stop moving off the ball. That should help
