For filling holes on the roadbed I’ve found that paper towels work well. Tear off some small pieces and stuff them into the holes using a small screwdriver. Then soak the hole with IPA followed by diluted white glue.
cut small pieces of foam for the in-between the big foam sections or stray foam and cut down level or use it as a hill side if wanted cotton balls, duct tape ,plaster, plaster cloth or patch it and put a drainage run in in
I used a spreader on my layout and I found that pushing it seemed to work better for me. I used WS ballast so that may have affected the way it went down but I was able to do a lot of track in a short amount of time. FYI I laid mine over EZ track and had no issues. I glued it with IPA followed by diluted glue. Dried hard as a rock.
Great job on many levels. Your scenery turned out fantastic and your casual product reviews were very welcome and presented well. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Tried my hand at static grass for the first time today....disaster. I tried 1 and 2 mil. and nothing stood up. Will have to get some longer grass and try that. Of course as a beginner I will have to try several times to get my set up right. Great vid, keep them coming. I do modal in N scale.
@@nscaler454 My daughter bought me one off Amazon. I think it is a cheap chinese make. It seems to have lots of charge according to the shocks I gave myself...lol. I use the plug in power supply not a battery.
Just a hint for you. If you need a center neg. power supply look for a music keyboard power supply as most of them are center neg. Don't ask why but I play keyboard and know this because of that.
Outstanding video! Great tips and techniques, was worth every minute of it!
Watching that ballast spreader made me feel like a kid with a new toy. Thanks for all the wonderful videos!
Your scenery work is looking good. Bob
Thanks. I look forward to adding more details.
You’re doing a great job like the way it’s turning out
Thanks 👍

Fantastic idea. I will be sure to try that. Thanks!
I found your channel because we are both in the same Facebook group. I really dig this content!
I don't have facebook 🤔
Looks good. Painting rails is very slow process. It looks good. Thanks for sharing David @LCRR
Yeah I found a lot of it to be a slow process, but taking your time can give good rewards. Thanks
Nice work 👍
Thanks 👍

What applicator did you use?

@@brianclow5704 maybe it's just sub par product. Hard to say. I found the 2 and 4 mm grass stood up easier than the 7 mm.
Aren't you suppose to hand sand the break away burr on the cork road bed? Saw that in a video to look more rounded on the edging of the ballast.
I gonna paint a track out of service in my layout.

Good tip. Thank you
What are you using in the shop vac to keep the static grass? Looks like a great idea :)
pantyhose. I assume any stretchy fabric would work.
How you cut pieces to fit perfect?
I measure
Looks really good. What track code are you using are you using?
Appears to be Peco code 55.
Why is track code important? If it's a long story point me the right direction to read up or view up on it?
Peco Code 55. Thanks
Code 55 has shorter rail height than Code 80, so it looks more realistic.
