Bout to use this video as reference to install some for my 2022 Lexus IS 350, since I haven’t found a video for the 4th gen yet! Hopefully it goes well
You can look in the description I have short cuts and timestamps so you could actually use the same procedure for testing the wires on any vehicle honestly… Just put the multi meter leads on the end of the socket for each color wire as shown
i had a factory flat 7 pin trailer harness on my is 250. simply bought a 7 pin flat plug and joined the taillight and reverse wires to the reflectors. done in about 10 mins LOL
Mr LCD You can always get a 12 V battery or even a 9V, and put the black wire on the ground Of the battery, and then I normally touch each other color wire on the positive to see which one lights up,, I mean you obviously always have a high and low positive meaning tail+brake And then the other wire is normally may be a turn signal or in this case the reverse light
Dope! This video helped me out on a completely different subject. I thought there was something wrong with my tail lights because when I press on the breaks only the far end of the right and left tail lights would turn on red, and that the lights on the trunk would not turn on when I press on the breaks (this is during day time by the way, so the car is running without any lights on) but by looking at your function test towards the end, clarified that only the ends would turn on when your just breaking normally in daytime, @10:06 But correct me if im wrong.
You're correct only the end on the tail lights comes on, however I actually made a modification to wear where my turn signal is actually has a brake light bulb too. And I have a video on how to do that as well th-cam.com/video/P1ERJ3VOUWE/w-d-xo.html
Maybe the diffuser is not aligned Are you did not push the tab in all the way, you might have to take it off and redo it, but these are aftermarket so they may fit a little weird mine are probably worse than yours
Bro, I have installed those before and they went out due to water or humidity, I bought a new pair, what do you think I need to do in order to avoid this issue? Do I need to re connect all the wires from scratch again
I think it’s because they are not sealed properly, and the moisture gets in, if you see some of my more recent videos, I actually ended up rebuilding mine myself… And my rebuilt ones have been working for over 2yrs. th-cam.com/video/6zuU0crNPEs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kQEZExV3fMWsehPE
I would love to see it, it's pretty much the exact same process ... there will be slight differences but a little common sense and ingenuity will take you a long way lol☝🏾😂😊😊😊
yo my man, hop e u been good i kno its been a few yrs since u made this vid lol, im actually thinkin abt doin the same thing on my IS, first of all, where did u get the additional harness from for the reflectors? also, is there any way to configure the wiring to make the normal reverse pure white light into a normal running light? and have everything else wired normally? I'm jus a big fan of the pure white but sad that it only shows then in reverse, would be sick for pics.
I bought some waterproof harness connectors online since I knew there were 4 wires on the reflectors I bought, I went online and got a waterproof, 4 wire harness on ebay.. If you want pure white reverse lights, just buy the T10 cool white LED.. If you want them to keep running, that’s a different story, it gets a little deeper
@@JDMHaze no doubt my man, glad to hear u been good and much appreciate the info. Im getting the newly released clear tails for the 3is, and wanted to match the reflectors with them but noticed in your vid that their only on when in reverse, would the T10 light be a replacement bulb for the reflector? I was thinking about just swapping the wires for the reverse and running light but don't know if that would mess anything up, or having to get some sort of relay to keep the pure white light on while driving normally. the reflectors on my car now don't have lights to begin with, which is why i found your vid for a wiring tutorial, then wanted to go the same clear light way you had as well, but then wanted to see what i can do about the reverse lights. ideally having them still be white then in reverse but also connected to a different switch or toggle on the driver light bar that can turn them off, the same way we can change our DRLs on or off.

Glad I could help. I didn’t see any videos Specifically for this vehicle So I decided to make one there doesn’t seem to be a lot of 3IS content
