Nothing better then a jerkin it tutorial done by the man himself
Bro should be coaching Team USA.
Back foot first is definitely one of the best pieces of advice for this movement you have ever given, even though every way you teach the snatch and the C&J are perfect
finally ! i was waiting for this so much, most videos on split jerk only explain the how but never the why. this makes a huge difference to me
This series is damn informative, so much to learn..
Fantastic video. Love this series of Olympic lifting.
This series is fire, perfect!
I've been lifting heavier with a norrmal jerk for so long, since split jerks always felt like weird jumping lunge with a barbell overhead. The back foot first tip is a huge gamechanger. Thanks Zack!
A plot jerk is the normal jerk
Great tutorial - Trying those lifts made me realise how poor my shoulder girdle and wrist mobility is. I bet working on them will help relieving my fequent shoulder pain too
I am new to weightlifting and that speech about dip and drive really was interesting. Intuitively I would think of the dip as rapid to use the stretch-shortening cycle like a a regular jump byt then you made me think about the weight. In a jump the weight moves with you because well, you are it. But in a lift if you drop there's gonna be a distance between you and the weight so you will "increase" the weight as you said
Great video again
The advice you gave in your first jerk video improved my technique so much
Back foot first is still a cue in warm-ups
Thanks Zack ! Have a stability problem in the catch but I'm working on it. You teaching why do all the stuff is pretty cool. I'm going to get far more confident.
Great series 👏
Mate your presentation skills are on point for this coaching video 👌
thank you zt
Szymon Kolecki a Dawg
That tip on the grip is one of the top things I took away from the video. It’s that last little piece for me is not being on the fingers! Thanks ZT I didn’t even know what was going on there until you mentioned it.
Thanks so much 💯🔥🙏🏽
Am really starting to understand that this sport is not about power but its about efficiency.
Thank you! You the best!
power/squat jerk next ??
Man, you give the best cues
Good technique advice.
And can be changing the front leg i mean forward right back left then change etcetera for a double for example i understand that the point is not to build your legs but i think i still good to do it both sides like every unilateral exercise
These vids and walkthroughs are what I tell people to do when they ask me how to do the Olympic lifts. These are like the bible for weightlifting.
Remember sharing the original version to my athletes in 2017 ❤

like for Szymon Kołecki !!
.....
and you too :)
About which foot you need to put in front my coach told me that the one that goes in front is the one that you use first before going up a ladder
You actually want your dominant leg in the back
@@smartvillain5628 no
yo anybody know what shoes kolecki has in the thumbnail
What about the Chinese technic? There isn't a video about this in TH-cam.
Cheers from Bulgaria.
Come here and we will teach you how to C&J ;-)
What’s the strict press-to-jerk ratio? Let’s say I can strict press 90 kg. How much should I be able to split jerk with decent technique? Thanks!
You should press 70-75% of your push press, and in turn push press 75-85% of your jerk. So with a 90 kg strict press you should be able to jerk around 167.
It’s usually around 0,65 of your max squat. Press and jerk ratio is irrelevant because there’s no correlation between the two lifts. Jerking is mostly about leg strength. The rest is technique. If you want to increase your jerk, increase your squat and master the technique.
Hello
Your opinion about split snatch?
🏋
You’re an excellent coach for weightlifting 🏋️♂️. I just saw one with Fraser showing a guy a weightlifting movement and it was horrible. Fittest man yes but explaining movements not. Anyway great video

What them feet do????
Still wearing the high heels! What about if we want to lift barefoot/low profile shoes? Any suggestions for modifications?
Do not do weightlifting without WL shoes.
Proper full-movement technique without heals is a recipe for elite numbers. Typically, people are limited to “power” movements without heals because full squat depth cant be achieved, ESPECIALLY with snatch.
@@BUMPER_PLATE_BANDIT I went ass to grass 315 for 6 reps 3 days ago at 180 lbs bodyweight. My calves look way bigger than anyone who lifts in heels. Look at Clarence Kennedy he doesn't wear heels. 👠
Please don't do weightlifting barefoot wtf
@@slamrock17 yea but those are squats. This is a weightlifting video the split jerk isnt a squat. If you do split jerks or weightlifting in non WL shoes you aren’t gonna get far.
Not bad for a giraffe
what a jerk! lol (just kidding ZT)
Been needing this. My jerk is so bad. Foot work is poor
I’m a super newbie to weightlifting, used this tut to jerk empty bar. Felt awesome! Thanks Zack! 🫶
