Here are some slightly more advanced tips that a lot of tutorials don't mention. Certain weapons in Fallout 1 and 2 have hidden weapon perks. Hidden, as in you wouldn't know what they are without looking into the gameplay files. But they can make a huge difference in terms of effectiveness and even build. These perks include, "weapon accurate", "weapon long range", "weapon penetrate" and "weapon knockback". It would be great if the game actually told players this stuff, because it was a game changer for me. Especially the "weapon accurate" perk, which made non-small guns characters viable for me. But keep in mind that they are hidden perks. You can't choose them. So they are sort of like hidden weapon attributes. *Weapon Accurate* = 20% increased chance to hit. All shotguns have the hidden weapon accurate perk, making them ideal for characters who suck at aiming, because you get an automatic 20% increased chance to hit. Great for characters without small guns tagged either. *Weapon Long Range* = These weapons have double the effective range. Mostly applies towards rifles, energy rifles and big guns. So your ranged distance modifier determined by your perception won't have as much of an effect, meaning you can shoot from longer distances. Basically these weapons are perfect for snipers. *Weapon Penetrate* = Weapons that remove 80% of a targets damage threshold. Basically weapons that are really good at penetrating armor. These weapons are usually special. Including pulse energy weapons, the .233 pistol, power fist, ripper and a few more. *Weapon Knockback* = You guessed it. Weapons that have a higher chance to knockback a target. So sledgehammers and super sledges in addition to a few special weapons...I guess you could count rocket launchers too, but they don't technically have the weapon knockback perk. Though they do cause knockback. Source: fallout-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Weapon_perk
I think for us the original fallout audience, those weapon perks were kinda logical. Shotguns for close and personal, 233 for long range because it is a rifle round. Knockbacks you found out the hard way

@@D-mac777 I was fine, I did a very generic build for my first playthrough and had a good time, there's one thing however. The game doesn't tell you much for quests and how to do them so I spent a lot of time looking at a wiki for each quest and how to do it, other than that it was pretty great. The water running out timer seemed pretty annoying at first, but then you realize that it'd be very hard to actually make it run out.
In my first playthrough back in 1997, the 12 year old me didn't know there was a aimed shot mechanic because I took "fast shot" as a trait because I thought it would be good. This reduces the AP cost of a weapon by 1 point but you cannot(!) use aimed shot. Let's just say I was quite surprised when a friend showed me the aimed shot mechanic...
Man, honestly, I just want to thank you. I've been trying to get into Fallout 1,2 and Tactics for years now but could never cause I couldn't figure it out no matter how much I researched but this helped me a ton and just finished 1, will be moving onto 2 now
Glad to see these games still get interest. I'm old enough to remember playing the original Wasteland, which helped inspire FO1. They really are special, and FO2 especially rewards multiple play-throughs. I've killed Frank Horrigan in every way that seemed remotely interesting, including bare-fisted.
This is really useful. I have tried to watch people play through this game for the 1st time and it's so frustrating watching them struggle through the interface. I bought this game new back in 1997 and even with the user manual that accompanied the installation CD, it was tough going. The only way I got through it was because several of my coworkers were struggling too and we compared a notes a lot. I still go back and play through once in a while because I have so many great memories of the "steep learning curve" that resulted in so many horrible deaths.
I've had these games in my steam from a bundle sale like 5 years ago and totally hated fallout 1 and 2 for a while. Replayed them within this month and I can now safely say fallout 1 and 2 are the best fallouts
A very handy thing he didn't mention is the F1 key which just shows a bunch of quick keys. There are a lot of them and they are very useful. Quick Save/lLoad is listed there for example and are very handy
@@TabletopTurtle Timothy Cain, one of the main devs of Fallout 1, would strongly disagree that it's a bad show; in fact, I think you're the only person I've found that has complained.
you missed 3 important tips.. and I didn't see them in the comments yet so here goes (and yes this is an older video but after FO the tv series people are gonna play FO1, 2 and NV like crazy... cuz FO3 and 4 are on the other side of the country): First, if you're gonna use your gun on rats (a waste imho), don't equip a knife/machete, use and then equip a flare in one hand, this makes the area around you brighter and increases your accuracy for shooting ( to the point where you *could* use targeted shots in the intro cave). When you leave the vault go one square any direction (west is quicker) then go right back to the vault, you can then get into the vault and talk to some npcs (there's only like... 2 or 3 you should speak to the rest of generic) and get some good stuff, if you use FO 1in2, water canteens are actually useful, keep one handy at least, if you can talk your way past the "guard" of the armory, you can loot a shotgun and shells, another 10mm pistol and ammo, and some chems.2 Thirdly, and I've not seen this tip anywhere.. but.. if you want to get places quicker than normal fast travel, do not rely on the list on your map, instead use it to get the direction of where you're headed then click on the closest edge (or corner if you're going diagonally) to your current location of the square of where you want to go, this will save you hours each fast travel and still has the same outcome.
I think this was great. I tried FO1 a while ago and gave up. I had no idea what I was doing. I’m going to follow your guide for the first little bit. I think I’ll like the game a lot more. And I’m glad you didn’t really spoil anything.
I save my ammo on the rats. Just agro them one at a time. Then melee them and use your remaining AP to move away. The rat will then use all of its AP just to reach you. Then hit and move away. Rinse and repeat. You can use this method on many enemies. And i strongly advise using the Fallout FIXT mod. You can disable the waterchip timer or drastically expand it so you can explore the world without being rushed. The mod also lets you hold down the "Shift" key to highlight all the interactable objects.
I didn't think someone would make a guide that would cover the literal basics, like every guide would assume you could figure the most simple mechanics and controls out. Thank you for this, i felt extra dumb and it would have stopped me from getting started. Instead, you've made the game accessible to me
its not far fetched really. These older RTS type games had a steeper learning curve than most modern ones. Simply because things either were not told to you or they were rich in content and did so much. Compared to most modern titles that baby you through the experience
"You should get it with about 50 days to spare" Me who just stole it from necropolis and returned to the vault with 123 days left: *Im gonna do what's called a pro gamer move*
I've been a massive Fallout fan since around 2011 and when Bethesda gifted the original titles on Steam I jumped on the first game and ended up exactly how you described the experience for newbies lol. In the middle of doing my 87th run of Fallout 4 I came across your video and I'm giving the original Fallout another chance with your tips. So far it's a bit hard to get used to it all, but the atmosphere is great, thanks for the tips!
This is super helpful, thanks to the build you suggested it made fallout super fun to play! I kept dying to some of the most stupidest animals and missing rats point blank range before I saw your video and rage quit the game never touching it again, but I decided to actually try learning how to play and this helped me see how good of a game fallout was and still is
Fantastic video. The game throws you in with no tutorial. Many did at this time!! Coming back from fallout 3 and on, it’s a struggle. This man is a savior. Thank you!!!!!!
The manual pretty much IS the tutorial. It explains everything you need to know. Games back then were constrained by memory limitations, so they couldn't put in game tutorials, which is why they had manuals instead.
Thank you for this tutorial! I finally got the courage to open up Fallout 1 just to be immediately scared away by the mechanics... But after this video I opened it up again and I'm already in Shady Sands! Thank you!
I just finished a replay of fallout 1. Here's my build: All points into luck, tag skills small guns, gambling, and whatever else you want. Perks are jinxed and the one that reducs action points for shooting but removes aiming. With gambling at 100%, you will win almost every single roll, giving you unlimited money. With 10 luck, I think you get better random encounters. I found a crashed flying saucer with one of the best guns in the game, and a bag of like 10k or 15k apocalypse dollars.
Hey i have a tip for shady sands in the second map theres a farmer near the plantation if you talk to him and then go on the place where u type a question if you type crop rotation you get 300 xp its cuz if u had like 8 int it would be an option
@@spacetrainbaby3737 the area of Shady Sands where you get the rope there’s a guy standing next to crops. When talking to him he’ll mention the crops not growing or something to that affect. That’s your guy. Been years since I did it but I think if you head slightly south when you enter the area he’s the first guy you’ll find.
Bro I went to Shady Sands and couldn’t find anything. I wanted a job there or just to talk to Aradesh but I didn’t find any quests. But I’ll try this cus I actually have 8 int
Great intro to the game. I figured I'd give it a shot since the show was compelling. I starting with 1. Legit no tutorial of any kind so spent a good amount of time trying to figure things out. Once I gained some exp, I figured I'd see what was on TH-cam. Your video did not disappoint. Very well structured and put together! Thabk you.
So many fun ways to play this game but if your new then you'll want lots of Agility for action points and charisma or intelligence for rpg aspects. Don't be embarrassed to save scum, this was a different time in gaming and its almost mandatory to find the best options; Dont trust NPC's with automatic weapons.
I finally gave Fallout 1 a chance. Well, a fourth chance really. First time I tried it was years ago and I put it down after I was killed by the second rat in the cave. Second time was about a year ago and I got all the way to Shady Sands but did not feel like continuing. Third time was after your video, I got all the way to the Hub, but I felt overwhelmed and uninterested. Then just last week I was itching for some "new" Fallout content and the legendarily bleak atmosphere that everyone mentions when talking about Fallout 1, and I gave the game another chance. I completed it today, and started a new playthrough with a new build. Loved it through and through. Amazing lore, total nostalgia trip, and I actually had lots of fun with almost all aspects of the game!
Installed it straight off the CD. Zero problems. Actually fewer bugs than I've seen people have with Steam. Just FYI, if you don't mind the 500 day time limit it's worth it
Note: don't waste too much ammo on cave rats, I took this build, swapped Lockpick for Melee Weapons, and I got out of the Vault cave area without using ammo, and only used the 10mm Pistol once on the Lesser Mole Rat in V15.
I just picked up the OG fallout games while they were on sale I got to vault 15 and couldn't find the rope to get down the elevator shaft, honestly these older fallout games despite being very different from the other titles are really cool and I cant wait to play through it
the OG Fallouts are games that I always wanted to play but know that id have a rough time trying to learn an older style game and I'm also not much of a PC gamer. I tried playing Fallout 1 about 2 years ago and tried looking up videos with tips but still was not fully prepared and gave up on it after barely making it to Shady Sands. I been recently getting the urge to want to try again since playing New Vegas again and I'm glad I found this video because most of the issue was the UI and not understanding how everything worked or even what I was able to do. So I'd like to say thank you for this video as it felt specifically made for me lol
It would have been really awesome if you made a Fallout 2 version of this. Out of all the beginners guides for Fallout 1 that I watched, yours was my favorite man.
Should also check out Wasteland 2 and 3 (or even the first Wasteland if you're up for it). Fallout was basically made after Interplay lost the rights to Wasteland. So Wasteland borrows heavily from the Fallout themes. Minus the 50s aesthetic.
tbh fallout new vegas is the best way to start, I just started 1 cause the show re-sparked my interest in the series I'm already a massive fallout fan but never played 1 or 2 , I've played 3,vegas, 4 and 76 tho.
I grew up with Fallout 1 and 2, as well as BG 1 and 2 and to this day those remain some of my most cherished memories and games that I play to this game. My main obstacle in these games was the english itself. It´s not my first language and those games weren´t really localised to my language for years after release, but I slowly grew to it, learned a lot and I still love to play all those OG games..
Thank you for this video. This game finally clicked for me and I just beat it today with no help post your beginning tips. Thank you for the amazing time

Took me 3 attempts to get into these games but once it clicked with me I was hooked just tried not to get frustrated too early and kept trying and learning from my mistakes and I love these games now
Wow, I seem to be much more intuitive than I thought, since most of the UI and mechanics weren't that hard for me to figure out by myself (skilldex took a bit) now I just need to actually get good at the game. Also, I wouldn't have known about the shady sands quest and the poisoned man without you, of how many companions there are. So I thank you kindly for making this video.
Thank you. I just downloaded it today, and the title of this video was very close to my first thought after the first bit talking about needing a new water chip lmao
Thank you, I kept looking at the map for vault 15, seeing there was alot more to it, found out I needed a rope and didn't know what else to do, thank you for this
whats cool about these games is that even tho im not very good at them i still wanna keep going, i have about 5 hours of fallout 1 right now and i died moretime then in many modern games and im still having fun, reading guides and watching videos for things that i misses, is just really cool and different from other experiences.
Thank you, this is helping me a lot. I decided to beat all the fallout games in release order, but sinse I only played Fo3 and Fo4 I was strugling quite a bit on Fo1. This video basicaly saved me lol
Huge help, man. Love that you gave this tutorial from the perspective of someone who has played the newer games first. It only made sense to do that. Sub'd
My main question is how the hell do you not have more subscribers? This channel is absolutely brilliant. I hope you get the attention you deserve soon.
Really appreciate the tips. Enjoying this game so far! Though, I did the thing... "unless you're travelling all over the map like crazy, you should be fine." Yeahhhh about that, I think I might be running out of days haha. Still, it's my first try so I'm not too bothered. Can't wait to play more!
I tried to play years ago and got frustrated, tried again recently since i got in the fall out mood again but haven't seen the tv show than i final decided to check if someone made a guide how the game is actually played. Thanks you so much man.
love these older games more and it's great to see guides still being made on them! I was introduced through fallout new vegas. played some random save file on my dads ps3 and never touched it again. then fallout 4 came out and it looked pretty cool so I went and bought fallout 3 for the ps3 and played it, liked it so I went and got fallout 4 for the xbox one, played it a lot then I played the first 2 and I liked them a lot better, played new vegas for the xbox 360 after I sold my xbox one to upgrade my pc and played that while I waited for 76 to come out. after playing a majority of the fallout games apart from the board games and the BOS on ps2 I can say. Even tho I enjoyed fallout 3 the first time around, after playing the others I began to dislike the games made by bethesda. Fallout 76 was the cherry ontop when I preordered the collectors edition. never got my nylon or canvas bag, never got a helmet or beta access infact they tried to send me my copy A MONTH after it came out but when I noticed that little detail in the shipping I raised hell. then when I got it, it was just a case with a carboard disk in it that had a download code, no tricentennial edition content included either. Bethesda basically gave me the finger even tho I did EVERYTHING they said to get it all resolved, cemented by deep dislike, almost hatred for the bethesda made fallout games
@@GamesTwiceOver it really does, it feels like a true continuation of the fallout story than what the Bethesda games have presented, I wish bethesda would just let obsidian make the fallout games
Playing through this game on my Windows 98 PC for the authentic experience. Was trying a blind playthrough but i gave up on that. Now I'm re starting after watching this video. Next it's fallout 2 then tactics.
I really appreciate this video! Having tried fallout 1 and 2 a few times and given up, I now understand the things that I found frustrating. I'd love to see another for fallout 2!
subscribed! just started fallout 1 the other day after originally started on 3 going up. Not gonna lie so many of your tips are going to help so much, like the cheeky mechanic of using the stimpacks without AP usage!
this really helped me!! i'd had the game for months and tried a couple times but this video made all the different. currently 8 hours in and really enjoying it. thx!!!
thanks for this. I quit on the game years ago simply because I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on. I am not new to older games but I am new to older RTS type games like these. Problem is most of these games came with manuals you had to read back in the day but with it all being digital now they don't and having to back out of pdf files and into the game is just tedious. This was nice and simple and encouraged me to give it another shot.
I have played this game since about 2003, and this is the first time i heard about the hunting rifle in Vault 15, thought i searched every corner but no, still more to explore apparently.
the main challenge for me personally is the technical problems. other then that the game is rather simple. honestly i love these kinda rpgs. wish fallout went a bit more in this direction but i also dont mind the way it went.
Regardless of age, this game still slaps. No fan of the fallout franchise should go without experiencing the first game. Seeing the master in your own play through is much more rewarding than watching a play through.
As someone who grew up with this game, I would also say about character creation that intelligence affect the ability to speak. Unlike newer games, if you have an intelligence of below 4 (1-3), then you are considered an idiot, and will have a very hard time talking to anyone. It will also lock most quests away as you cannot communicate with people to get their jobs. Only take a very low intelligence if not taking gifted, and pumping all your stats into being a bruiser, as talking does not matter too much when you have unarmed 100 and a power fist. Also, I suggest pressing the barter button on everyone you can talk to. It is not just merchants who will have things to trade. Always use skillbooks! They trade some time passing for a permanent boost to the related skill. It is not much, but it is skill points you won't have to spend later. And finally, charisma determines how many companions you can have with you. Every two points is an extra companion, so high charisma is again a trade of your personal combat effectiveness (or smarts) for more guns at your side.

Let's just say I was quite surprised when a friend showed me the aimed shot mechanic...
fast shot is a solid way to go, aiming is situational. something you would especially want for humanoid bosses/elites.
Just bought the games on Steam after binging the TV series. I'm 100% invested in this! Love the game so far, thanks for the tips.
Sadly the TV show is Bethesda's version of Fallout, which is a silly 1950's post-apocalyptic kid's ride.
@@TabletopTurtle Timothy Cain, one of the main devs of Fallout 1, would strongly disagree that it's a bad show; in fact, I think you're the only person I've found that has complained.
I never actually knew about vats until FO3 due to always, in both FO1&2, taking the trait 'Fast Shot'. Fast shot and gifted
like i said 1 comment up, fast shot is a good way to go. also always take gifted.
you missed 3 important tips.. and I didn't see them in the comments yet so here goes (and yes this is an older video but after FO the tv series people are gonna play FO1, 2 and NV like crazy... cuz FO3 and 4 are on the other side of the country):
First, if you're gonna use your gun on rats (a waste imho), don't equip a knife/machete, use and then equip a flare in one hand, this makes the area around you brighter and increases your accuracy for shooting ( to the point where you *could* use targeted shots in the intro cave).
When you leave the vault go one square any direction (west is quicker) then go right back to the vault, you can then get into the vault and talk to some npcs (there's only like... 2 or 3 you should speak to the rest of generic) and get some good stuff, if you use FO 1in2, water canteens are actually useful, keep one handy at least, if you can talk your way past the "guard" of the armory, you can loot a shotgun and shells, another 10mm pistol and ammo, and some chems.2
Thirdly, and I've not seen this tip anywhere.. but.. if you want to get places quicker than normal fast travel, do not rely on the list on your map, instead use it to get the direction of where you're headed then click on the closest edge (or corner if you're going diagonally) to your current location of the square of where you want to go, this will save you hours each fast travel and still has the same outcome.
I sually bashed them withou wsting ammo even with non fighter builds. Its really just annoying if you know the game already.
"You should get it with about 50 days to spare"
Me who just stole it from necropolis and returned to the vault with 123 days left: *Im gonna do what's called a pro gamer move*
Dang it now i wanna try this. This is why i try not to loon up rpg videos
Thanks for the spoil
@@cuzhe5696 the game is like...25 years old. 🤔
@@mykelmellen2378 You're acting like all 8 billion people on earth have played it
@@dudedude315 tf outta here 🤣
I feel bad for people that experienced fallout after the show cause they'll never truly know why its so nostalgic
No sh*t, 87th?!
i literally tried to go to junktown after talking to aradesh and acidentally ended up in necropolis
Lol
This video is so useful. I think i will start the game from the beginning. I was only in shady sands anyway
Thank you!
Honestly just thank you. the tip with the first companion and rope/antidote use just made the experience so much more understandable
I just finished a replay of fallout 1. Here's my build:
All points into luck, tag skills small guns, gambling, and whatever else you want.
Hey i have a tip for shady sands in the second map theres a farmer near the plantation if you talk to him and then go on the place where u type a question if you type crop rotation you get 300 xp its cuz if u had like 8 int it would be an option
talk to what npc?
Seriously dude, you gotta use punctuation at the least if you want anyone to understand what you're talking about
@@Themurderin it was like 3 am when i wrote that.
Thabk you.
You started on the wrong game.
@@vertyisprobablydead what's the more appropriate game then?
Thank you for this, I have struggled to try to get into Fallout 1 & 2, but I think this might be enough to at least make it through the first vault
Let me know if it helped move you past where I left off.
Installed it straight off the CD. Zero problems. Actually fewer bugs than I've seen people have with Steam.
Just FYI, if you don't mind the 500 day time limit it's worth it
Note: don't waste too much ammo on cave rats, I took this build, swapped Lockpick for Melee Weapons, and I got out of the Vault cave area without using ammo, and only used the 10mm Pistol once on the Lesser Mole Rat in V15.
i started out with fo 1 when it came out years ago. to this day, one of the best games i have ever played. its why i've played every fallout since
Just played fallout 1 and two over the past month and holy shit wtf was I missing
I already beat Fallout, 5 times, but still enjoyed watching this
Fallout 1, 2, and tactics are free from August 29 to September 5
This guide actually helped me get through the first rodent infested cave
Finished fallout 2 a week ago and daamn these two are gems, after that I cant wait to play nv lol.
You should check out ATOM RPG on steam. It's like loosely based on the fallout games and it's that weird kind of iso view
Should also check out Wasteland 2 and 3 (or even the first Wasteland if you're up for it). Fallout was basically made after Interplay lost the rights to Wasteland. So Wasteland borrows heavily from the Fallout themes. Minus the 50s aesthetic.
Here after the show came out, wanna get into it, bought Fallout 1 on Steam, died to Scorpions and now I’m here
tbh fallout new vegas is the best way to start, I just started 1 cause the show re-sparked my interest in the series I'm already a massive fallout fan but never played 1 or 2 ,
I've played 3,vegas, 4 and 76 tho.
I've been playing Fallout 1 since it came out, yet I did not know it had a companion system, I thought it was brought in with the later ones :O
This was so helpful. This is the only video I’ve found that actually tells you how to play. Please make the same type of video for Fall out 2.
wow, the manual... its alive! good job man playing for the first time and this covered so much stuff i didnt know i didnt know
this game is from a bygone era, what a gem
This is a very useful video. Control schemes have evolved so much over the years that it's tough going back sometimes.
Thank you for this video. This game finally clicked for me and I just beat it today with no help post your beginning tips. Thank you for the amazing time
To be fair. Oxhord did a amazing job with fallout 1 and 2. I watched every video on his story walk through
I don't get it, what's this being fair about? That Oxhorn did it first? And?
@@Themurderin if you watch the video he references oxhorns videos and my comment make sense.
If you didn't then your just assuming stuff.
Which do you sound like
@@tonysanchez5621 I still fail to see your point. It's cool and all that Oxhorn gets mentioned in the video, but what about it makes it fair exactly? I also don't know how I would assume anything seeing as I have nothing to go off of.
@@Themurderin after him bringing up oxhorn and the other TH-cam. My comment is a direct comment off that.
If you didn't watch the video or don't remember then it wouldn't make sense to you. So I can assume either of those options
The Gifted Trait is balanced enough in FO2.
it's still always worth grabbing though
not overpowered, just powerful
Took me 3 attempts to get into these games but once it clicked with me I was hooked just tried not to get frustrated too early and kept trying and learning from my mistakes and I love these games now
This man sounds like the vault 13 overseer when he was younger
The inflection is on the second syllable of hexAGonal
Wow, I seem to be much more intuitive than I thought, since most of the UI and mechanics weren't that hard for me to figure out by myself (skilldex took a bit) now I just need to actually get good at the game. Also, I wouldn't have known about the shady sands quest and the poisoned man without you, of how many companions there are. So I thank you kindly for making this video.
This was just the guide I was looking for to understand this game and give it the full college try. Thank you!
"Allways run" so that you initiate every single combat with your companions miles away from the action...
Thank you. I just downloaded it today, and the title of this video was very close to my first thought after the first bit talking about needing a new water chip lmao
Thank you, I kept looking at the map for vault 15, seeing there was alot more to it, found out I needed a rope and didn't know what else to do, thank you for this
Dude a life saver never played any games like it before spent about 3 hrs dying trying to figure it out before I found this
whats cool about these games is that even tho im not very good at them i still wanna keep going, i have about 5 hours of fallout 1 right now and i died moretime then in many modern games and im still having fun, reading guides and watching videos for things that i misses, is just really cool and different from other experiences.
Thank you, this is helping me a lot. I decided to beat all the fallout games in release order, but sinse I only played Fo3 and Fo4 I was strugling quite a bit on Fo1.
This video basicaly saved me lol
Thanks heaps for this! I've never been able to stick at playing through FO1 or 2 until now. Your vid was great 🙏
This was so helpful. I couldn't figure out how TF the gameplay can be made easier. Thank you.
Huge help, man. Love that you gave this tutorial from the perspective of someone who has played the newer games first. It only made sense to do that. Sub'd
My main question is how the hell do you not have more subscribers? This channel is absolutely brilliant. I hope you get the attention you deserve soon.
Thanks for the guide! Once I beat Fallout 1, I’ll be looking up your 2 guide.
I think I had 3 strokes and aneurism ttying to figure out how to play by myself
I tried to play years ago and got frustrated, tried again recently since i got in the fall out mood again but haven't seen the tv show than i final decided to check if someone made a guide how the game is actually played. Thanks you so much man.
update?
So useful. I was trying to punch those rats and couldn't work out why I couldn't move very far.
My first attempt to play fallout one didn’t go very well, but the second attempt was great now one of my favorite games
love these older games more and it's great to see guides still being made on them!
For what it's worth, New Vegas gets even better after playing Fallout 1 and 2 due to the lore references.
@@GamesTwiceOver it really does, it feels like a true continuation of the fallout story than what the Bethesda games have presented, I wish bethesda would just let obsidian make the fallout games
Thank you for making this video, cause even though i already bought the classic bundle i will now just admire them in my library never to touch them.
This quick walk through helped a lot! I came from playing Fallout 3,4 and NV. I was lost trying to play this lol.
Hands down this is the best tutorial for Fallout 1 I found! Thanks a lot!
I love the title of this video, I hope it answers that questions, it's my 3rd try at this game already
Playing through this game on my Windows 98 PC for the authentic experience. Was trying a blind playthrough but i gave up on that. Now I'm re starting after watching this video. Next it's fallout 2 then tactics.
Thanks for the heads up. Just got 1,2 and tactics in a bundle. Hoping to enjoy them.
Thank you! I struggle just starting! I can now play and die in the wasteland! :D
"play and die in the Wasteland"
The path of gittin gud is filled with blood. Namely one's own.
this really helped me!! i'd had the game for months and tried a couple times but this video made all the different. currently 8 hours in and really enjoying it. thx!!!
0:42 this is exactly what happened, then I promptly exited out of the game and now I'm here.
thanks for this.
For consistent, and very easy, early game XP, escort caravans in the Hub.
Thank you, this was very helpful. I haven't watched the fallout series, but I've played all of the new fallout games and wanted to give this a try.
Thank you so much! I've always wanted to play the classics to dive deeper into my favorite franchise.
It's been a long time since I played this game, but from what I remember, all of your advice is good.
the main challenge for me personally is the technical problems. other then that the game is rather simple. honestly i love these kinda rpgs. wish fallout went a bit more in this direction but i also dont mind the way it went.
im so happy im in the same universe as fallout
Regardless of age, this game still slaps. No fan of the fallout franchise should go without experiencing the first game. Seeing the master in your own play through is much more rewarding than watching a play through.
This fallout guide was really helpful. I just wish I saw it before I started playing.
Five minutes into your video and I can see I’m not interested in playing this game. Thank you for the great video!
Super helpful, got me up and running on fallout 1 for the first time thank you. 👍
Just as a clarification, charisma only effects party size in Fallout 2. In 1, you can have a full size with a charisma of 1.
