Just a couple of heads up for people installing it today, the mods creators have moved a few things. Sometimes the undat.exe is in the fo1in2-master/tools/undatUI. Another point is that the Sfall mods.ini is now in the mods folder in the fallout1in2 folder.

Easily my favorite game in the series. Its also the last one I played so there's no nostalgia impacting that ranking haha, its just an incredible game with the strongest atmosphere and main plot in the entire series IMO.
@@loveblanket6512 I have to agree with Jake, fallout 1 is the best. I found the story quite engaging and the last bosses you had to deal with fascinating. What's interesting is how many different ways you can play the game. I enjoy playing a dumb character something you won't ever see in modern gaming today.
@@loveblanket6512 Fallout 1 is actually about the 'atmosphere' FO3 fans talk about all time. It really made me feel like the world ended. I wondered how long the wooden boxes lay around(100 years?). I've actually been waiting for this video ever since you teased it on the community tab Been meaning to get into the original Fallouts but had no idea how to 'modernize' it. This video helped me greatly. Thanks!
This is about as "modern" as it can get without ruining it (not that I know of other mods that add more). Just makes things smoother and adds features like not having to drag every single item one by one. Of course others. And they can all be turned off and on in the .ini files. Just make sure you start a new game for them to take effect.
I remember a Fallout 2 mod that added new cities and content, and my favorite part about it was it added encounters with the first chosen one. When u first leave Arroyo, you fight him, and he's a tribal. Next, he has leather armor and a gun, and so on. It reminded me of fighting your rival in Pokémon.

Ok I fixed the problem from windows 10, you have to turn off Vertical sync off, game should run at full speed now. This is for mode-4 dx9 full screen, it seems mode-6 has some issues when you die in the game, it hangs after you get killed.
Just ran across this video, thanks for making it. Such a high quality production! This will come in handy, since it's my first time playing Fallout 1. However, I stumbled upon a weird bug while using this mod: while in the world map, when a random encounter happened, instead of the game loading it, it would load the screen of a previous random encounter. But, on this random encounter, there would be a weird visual bug where the sprites keep repeating as I walk on the screen (leaving something like a trail of sprites) and I can't exit this random encounter by any side of the screen, leaving me stuck at that screen. So, basically, it's a dead end for the game. The weirder thing is that, if I reload a save that I saved just before the problem happened, that problem will happen again with considerable consistency, which makes me think that whatever is happening is spoiling the whole playthrough. What I did to try to solve that was trying to backup the saves, uninstall everything and install everything again, adding the mod and adding the exact same settings as you pointed on the video and, after that, re-adding the save files. This ended up not giving me my saves back, so I ended up losing the progress that I had so far. But, since it's my first playthrough, the loss was of about an hour of gaming only. Did you stumbled upon this bug sometime? If yes, do you know if it is related to any settings in the mod? If not, would you know if there's a way for me to debug that (like a log or something)? Any help would be appreciated! I am loving the game and it seems like using the mod improves the experience, so I wanted to give it a proper try!

@@SCARaw Sometimes scouring the net for the links of the right mods, then making sure you have any and all patches and files to make them work together, then figure out the proper settings for any cfg & ini files... It can take a bit to get older games in order, plus theres always a bunch small mistakes that can be made depending on your system setup. Hell, I'm playing Fallout now because Fallout 3 started crashing as the Logos start to show the second time I booted up the game to continue the save I started earlier that day. I didn't even use mods, just started up my GOG copy. It gets exhausting getting games like these setup at times lol

Awesome I'm defo going to give this a go once I've finished my Fallout New Vegas playthrough, cheers for the tutorial man love seeing old games getting some love.
Some day I swear I'm going to get to my steam backlog of games. The early fallout games are near the top of my list. Definitely coming back to this video later.
i know this is random, but youre genuinely the only persons tutorials i trust when it comes to anything modding, i have a suggestion since there isnt a single video that explains well enough, KNVSE, i notice people say overriding animations is simple but like, thats some bull, itd be much easier if there was a visual way to do it y'know?
This is a best mod tutorial to a game I've seen in my life. Installing now to GOG version and keeping my fingers crossed it will not crash when trying to enter Brotherhood of Steel which happened to me couple of years ago in Steam version which basically blocked me from playing... BTW I would kill for a similar video for Fallout 2.
I could not ever figure out how to get TTW to work for fallout 3 & 4… I’m going to have a better computer to use soon, and will try again then. For now I’m checking out older versions of the game… and this looks cool. Thanks for the guides and extra calming stuff you say and do in the videos. I do notice and it does mean a lot to me. I’m going through a lot right now and games are a sort of therapy for me. You’re a calming person. I feel like a Norse or Celtic deity is speaking in a calming celestial voice… about video games… so ty again! :)
I got this to work btw! I was able to easily change all the settings to the ones you recommended too. I like that you explained what they did and showed comparisons of the game with/without the mods you mentioned. I was not able to find one of the mods you mentioned in the .ini, but it wasn’t so significant I don’t think. It had to do with the guy that increases your charisma by 1. I think he can also increase all of your stats by 1, but I’m not entirely certain about that. I figured it was something changed to be automatically added or worked into the game since I did use whatever the latest install was and this video is a bit old. I also figured that if it was removed, then maybe it was due to bugs. I am not on my PC right now or I would share the exact setting. I cannot remember his name. Starts with an L I think. I think the setting I couldn’t change was being able to have intimate relations with them or marry them or something..? shrug I was able to get the hooker setting turned on. I’ll be okay… 👌 😹 (I am using Brave browser on an iPhone and idk if clicking reply is actually tagging you or not. I basically just wanted to say thank you again!)

Just came across this video today, and I gotta say, it's extremely helpful. Been wanting to play these gold titles for a while, but the alt tab crashing bug really threw me off. Thanks a lot man.
I would change the description random encounter preset to 10 instead of 5, when traveling any longer distance than the places directly around shady sands, the amount of encounters at 5 gets frustrating, but at 10 it feels just right. Other than that, stellar vid.
As someone who loves the first game but found it difficult to return to due to the QOL features the second game provided, this is a serious god send to people who can’t get into Fallout 1. I tried the mod 3 months back, and it ran with almost no issue on my PC. And last time I checked, the few issues I did find ended up being fixed in a recent patch, along with some added weapons from the second game and Fallout Sonora.
It really is great. If I wasn't as stubborn as I am I wouldn't have gotten through learning the game with my modern habits. This mod took all the tedium out of it for me.
Yooooo I truly appreciate the way you approach creating informative videos. Timestamps on the right, unique aspect ratio, great quality on both audio and video. Earned a sub today brother. Thank you!
Great video, what a voice! I noticed you didn't mention Epic Games Launcher in the Requirements section, is it because the mods don't work with it or simply because you haven't tried it? I grabbed both games for free there. Thanks!
I haven't tried it. With newer games (fo3 to skyrim) buying them on beth.net and Microsoft, mods don't work due to firm I'd recompiling and other reasons.

man this is so perfect thank you so much i saw the show and had to get into and you're the only one who had this already ready
Almost 100 hours of work on this one. I hope you enjoy it = ) Great to see you here.

I can tell. I usually run tutorials like this at 1.15-1.5 speed since they usually drag on but with your effective step by step (with great flavor editing) i had to turn it back to normal speed. very impressive and very helpful, thank you!
You spend 100 hours installing fallout 1 at 2?
@@SCARaw Sometimes scouring the net for the links of the right mods, then making sure you have any and all patches and files to make them work together, then figure out the proper settings for any cfg & ini files... It can take a bit to get older games in order, plus theres always a bunch small mistakes that can be made depending on your system setup.
Hell, I'm playing Fallout now because Fallout 3 started crashing as the Logos start to show the second time I booted up the game to continue the save I started earlier that day. I didn't even use mods, just started up my GOG copy. It gets exhausting getting games like these setup at times lol
just some advice for new people sfallmodsini is now located in the "mods" folder.
I too have the problem getting it run with the "Fallout 1in2 couldn't find/load text fonts error" would be nice if you fixed it before asking for tips. Just did your install 1 Aug 24.
I'm planning to replay this pretty cool game, so this comes perfect as a good starting point for it. Thanks very much for the detailed tutorial!
I'm late but I've gotta give it up. This guy's got primo, crisp & crunchy tutorials. To the point. Slick edits. Ka-blammo.
Happy you liked the videos = )
Based on the intro and you're voice alone I am subscribing, good lord.
Appreciate ya ;)
Great modding video as always. Clear, concise, no BS, just how to install a mod properly. You are a credit to the community.
I need to remember about this one if I ever get back to classics - not being able to move NPCs in FO1 caused me quite a lot of grief
I’ve really enjoyed my first playthrouhh of Fallout 2 recently and I’m going to play 1. I’ve owned both forever but with this I’m definitely going to do it
its a great game = )
Yo, this guy deserves more followers. He's soooo wholesome. Amazing job mate.👍
He needs to set GVAR_ENABLE_FO2_PARTY_LIMIT=0
Dude, your voice is so smooth that at first I thought it was AI generated or some kind of text-to-speech tool!
Thank you for this great tutorial, I can't wait to begin playing!
😊 🙏
Awesome I'm defo going to give this a go once I've finished my Fallout New Vegas playthrough, cheers for the tutorial man love seeing old games getting some love.
Happy you like it 😀
Thanks for this, been meaning to replay this again for years and this makes it super simple to get started. So much nostalgia!
You're the jolliest modding tutorial on the internet, mate. Top stuff.
Thank you for this. Fallout 1 feels and looks so much better now! I’m doing my 2nd run after vanilla version.
Thank you so much for this video! Still using it, even today in 2024!
Thanks to the people in the pinned comment as well!
Some day I swear I'm going to get to my steam backlog of games. The early fallout games are near the top of my list. Definitely coming back to this video later.
When i listen to one of your video, i know it will be quality, this one is the same, thank you for keeping that high quality
i know this is random, but youre genuinely the only persons tutorials i trust when it comes to anything modding, i have a suggestion since there isnt a single video that explains well enough, KNVSE, i notice people say overriding animations is simple but like, thats some bull, itd be much easier if there was a visual way to do it y'know?
Fallout 3 and new vegas :) my videos for ttw are old. I marked them as such. Just take your time:) slow and steady
@@gamerpoets totally meant 3 and NV*** my bad... I do not own 4 and haven't played it. I don't want to until I beat 1, 2, tactics, 3 and NV first
I got this to work btw!
I’ll be okay… 👌 😹
(I am using Brave browser on an iPhone and idk if clicking reply is actually tagging you or not. I basically just wanted to say thank you again!)
Incredible production values, wow. Lovely voice-over too
😊 🙏
I just finished it yesterday for the first time and im just getting this video recommended, I wish had it before starting the game 😭
Best tutorial i’ve seen on YT, and i’ve been in this world for a while. You deserve more views.
Amazing tutorial as always! Thanks for bringing the love to a classic. Looking forward to your next Skyrim City Mod Showcase.
appreciate ya = )
you are a niche gamer but one who caters to an albeit large niche, i appriciate this, you might like kenshi or the M&B games but they are sandbox. no other video like this on youtube and your DynDOLOD videos are a godsend. bless you brother gamer.
thanks Noah = )
Thank you for the video! After 25 years, I will play Fallout 1 once more and revive all those good memories again.
Edit: who else is playing again after after having seen the TV Show?
Glad you liked it = )
you sir are a legend
this video will help many hundreds of thousands of people over the coming years
you have contributed well towards humanity
Thank you Sir Foster = )
The last part was just for newbies. Yeah it was a little confusing when I was younger but I knew all the commands
YOU ARE MY HERO!
This guide still works great! :D
I just admire your voice of gold. Love your content bro!
Thanks man ;)
YESSSSSSS WE LOVE GAMERPOETS HELPING US WITH FALLOUT!!!!!!! My pc can't handle games with intense graphics rn so this seems like the perfect thing to play!!! cant wait!!!!1
You are truly wonderful GamerPoets. I was in love right at "You Got This" - thank you very much for all your hard work, thanks to you I can play my beloved games modded, relatively stress-free. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind comment and time = )
Thank you for the tutorial! About to play Fallout 1 for the first time ever.
I hope you enjoy it = ) Its a great game.
Just came across this video today, and I gotta say, it's extremely helpful. Been wanting to play these gold titles for a while, but the alt tab crashing bug really threw me off. Thanks a lot man.
Glad it was useful = )
I would change the description random encounter preset to 10 instead of 5, when traveling any longer distance than the places directly around shady sands, the amount of encounters at 5 gets frustrating, but at 10 it feels just right.
Other than that, stellar vid.
That's great that you found a setting you like:)
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS i was in my monthly Classic fallout fase but didnt want to play the dated and annoying bugs of fallout 1
Thank you!
This video was very helpful, finding information on how to setup older games on modern systems is difficult.
@@gamerpoets Well, it seems to work just fine! I've only played for three minutes (and struggled to kill the first cave rat) but the game launched in my resolution. Only issue is that it uses a QWERTY configuration, but that's something I can get used to.
Your video was of tremendous help :)
Jesust, this video had no business being so epic
im so happy you exist thank you
An excellent "How To Make Your Own Remastered Fallout 1 and 2 video! Also, good relationship advice at 8:12 although I may add that you should have the slinky so you know you're guaranteed to win.
Lol ahh man
You can also load weapons in combat from your inventory if you drag ammo on your equipped gun/lazer
And with the quality of the video, especially with a favourite game of mine like fallout, you have earned yourself a new sub, well done team, well done.
Just 1 person :) glad you liked it
@@gamerpoets conducting my playthrough of fallout 1 and 2 now, thanks to your advices :))
while you edit the files hit ctrl f to open find and type or copy and paste what you wish to change. example: WorldMapEncounterFix no need to add =1 or whatever as that's what you are changing and it may not find it if it's not set like that. this helps with scrolls and trying to find ea thing
Some of my fav's. Heading back towards my Wasteland roots. 🙂
Good roots ;)
