- These are two songs that are supposed to be one, so I mashed them together. Enjoy.
From the album 'Dark Side of the Moon' by Pink Floyd
Lyrics:
The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'till I'm sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
"I can't think of anything to say except...
I think it's marvellous! HaHaHa!"
All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy
beg, borrow or steal
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say
All that you eat
everyone you meet
All that you slight
everyone you fight
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
There is no dark side of the moon really.
Matter of fact it's all dark.
"There is no dark side of the moon really. As a matter of fact, its all dark." - My favourite Pink Floyd line ever (and its hidden away at the very end of the album very quietly)
Religion: _"The moon shines a lesser light than the sun."_
Science: _"The moon doesn't shine any light, it just reflects light from the sun."_
Everything under the sun is in tune.
Well said my friend 👊 @@TonyEnglandUK
Imagine it's 1973, you just got the new Floyd album, by that time they were an underground prog rock band known for phsychedelic offerings like "Careful With That Axe Eugene" and "Arnold Lane", the only foreshadowed evidence at what might be waiting inside the black and rainbow clad sleeve a still fairly unknown gem "Echoes". The album cover doesn't really allude to anything special, the song titles offer no hint as to what's inside. You place it on the turntable, drop the needle, plug in your stereo headphones, and . . .
I love Atom Heart Mother and Echoes, but this album blew my mind when I first heard it some time around 1976 when I was 8 years old.
nerd 🤓
*psychedelic
If you don't think this album cover symbolizes something special.. YOUR CRAZY
Love this comment!
Here we are in 2024 and Dark Side of the Moon is still the greatest album of all time.
"Everything under the sun is in tune...
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon."
Honest, profound...dystopic and relevant as ever in these days of naive, blind, technological optimism. Fifty years later and the lyrical warning is still prescient.
In an interview with Louder Sound, Roger Water revealed:
"I wrote Brain Damage at home. The grass [mentioned in the lyric] was the square in between the River Cam and King’s College chapel [in Cambridge]. The lunatic was Syd [Barrett], really. He was obviously in my mind."
The lunatic is in my head
It was Syds' band
One of the most classic of all time.
Believe That
Not only do I believe it, I know it to be true brother man
@@spawn2110 this is something
I believe
I remember when this album came out and Pink Floyd emerged from progscurity into the fore front of FM rock. This song was a bonus.
What's FM rock
Like AM FM?
@@Gloomgrave I was thinking of FM Rock Radio in Detroit c1970- WABX, WWWW, WRIF... it was "underground"
I remember when quarter pounds were 60 dollars
@@Gloomgrave Oh, god. We're really at this point, aren't we?
Playing this song during my last few minutes of being 13. Happy birthday me.
Happy birthday Zedd hope you had a great day btw you have great taste in music for a 13 year old 😂
@@stephenclark9594I loved this music when I was 9
@@stephenclark9594he’s 13 and so what he has a taste we all have it doesn’t make him any more special
❤lovely 😮also unic for 13 years old boy, bravo🎉
take lsd when u turn 18 at the minimum (preferably older) and listen to this album in full. thank me later
I graduated from Kent State in spring of 1971. After May 4th 1970, we didn't know which way to go. This band helped us to relax and contemplate the meaning of our existence.
"You raise the blade, you make the change.
You arrange me 'til I'm sane.
You lock the door, and throw away the key.
There's someone in my head, but it's not me."
Tool summed that up nicely....
"Over thinking, over analyzing, separates the body from the mind."
Love those words
"Spiral out
Keep going" always said Tool is my generations Pink Floyd 💯🔥
back with another eclipse babey
And if the band your in starts playing different tunes, i'll see you on the Dark Side of the Moon!! Greatest album ever created.
This whole album is amazing
Been singing this all day. Eclipse day😊
one of the best albums ever made
The Best....
Saw them in Montreal for my 18th birthday and the big stadium. It was my birthday present from one of my best friends in 1995. Thanks brotherman! Stay skateboarding in our dreams til we die!
There is no dark side of the moon, as a matter of fact it's all dark.
(It's only the sun that makes it look light)
It refers to the side of the moon that never faces the earth. Dark meaning unseen to us.
@@SamAceRothstein Frank is saying without the sun how would we know it's dark.
@@sorinankitt Because.. it’d be covered in darkness either way? Lmao..
no they say that at the end of the record...
y’all are dumb lmao
....possibly the single greatest album EVER MADE......David, Roger, Nick, Richard (RIP, Buddy)....
Brain Damage and Eclipse are the bread and butter of prog rock, there’s nothing else like it and I love it :)
(and Echoes is one of the best if not THE best meal you’ve ever had)
Over the decades. Meddle has risen to be my favourite album, by my favourite band.
I love Meddle, it’s one of Pink Floyd’s best albums
The lunatic is on the grass.

"The Lunatic Is In My Head.....
...There's someone in my head, but it's not me."
Yup, that pretty much sums up my life....and I have no control over it.
Never ever had I had a song that made me feel so that years ago feels like an hour ago that I’m still the better me I was in the past and never has it changed me completely from who I used to be DSOTM and Pink Floyd may god truly bless you
Happy Birthday Roger Waters born on September 6, 1943. He is an English musician. In 1965, he co-founded the rock band Pink Floyd as the bassist. Following the departure of the songwriter, Syd Barrett, in 1968, Waters became Pink Floyd's lyricist, co-lead vocalist and conceptual leader until his departure in 1985. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Waters#
Anyone else listen to this during the eclipse??
Working but stepped outside to take a look, almost went blind... This was a few years ago though.
wish i did but that was before i was into pink floyd
Was in school when it happened. The local FM Rock Station, though, played the entirety of The Dark Side of the Moon so the song Eclipse’s start or end coincided with the moment of totality, or the closest thing to it considering my home city wasn’t in the direct path of totality but still close enough to see some of it.
Coming right up
Almost
one word, amazing.
Anyone else loves to play this song when they hang with Lucy?
Fell asleep in front of the TV and woke up when this song was playing. What a midnight trip.
I was 9 in 1973...This was my favorite album!!
Great message about mental illness, and about how to live life to the fullest.
Unfortunately "mental illness" holds a predetermined stigma....and with so many forms of such, majority of the population.....let alone "specialists"....still don't know how to deal with such specific mental conditions.
.... Given I have a combination of two different types in which one compounds the other. Joy.
This is my “everything is gonna be ok” song
incredible .
Thanks to my tio hector showing me Pink Floyd at 5 years old.
Happy 50th Anniversary Dark Side Of The Moon
Listening to this during a Lunar Eclipse happening right now.
another one in 2.5 hours :)
Their masterpiece
Omaggi: grandi e immortali!
You know everybody wants to play that one Bonnie Tyler song during the 2024 total solar eclipse… too cliche! This is the song I’ll be playing.
Adoro todo el disco, pero los tres últimos temas son un prodigio de final, con este crescendo final con el que me entran ganas de llorar de emoción.
LOVE THIS !!!!!!!
We want you to come to our parties
Got me thru my Catholic High School Years.
still trapped in time
Can’t believe I didn’t think to listen to this during the eclipse. I’m so stupid!!!
In 1973 the cool dudes in my college dorm had Pink Floyd and ELP on reel to reels.
When i was pregnant with my daughter I listened to this album allot. After she was born she'd go to sleep if she was fussing.
You can't enjoy the Brain Damage & Eclipse without listening to the whole album orderly
Brain damaged without eclipse, is just a tease when the drums kick in and the song abruptly stops. I'll play these 2 standalone any, and every day. ✌️
Nice song
Remember the day I listened to that album for the first time! I was 15 !
the lunatic is on the grass.... Woahwoahhhhh
Perfect song for these times, and today's partial eclipse.......
“Partial.” You gotta chase them!
Whoops. Thought this was today’s eclipse. Just now noticed the date of your comment!

This is sad Pink Floyd is dead long dead because to this day Gilmore and waters still argue and have beef it’s sad god bless them and god bless Pink Floyd
CHAIN OF FOOLS BOUGHT ME HERE NEXTTELL ME SOMETHING GOOD ENJOY,,,,,,,,,
Im sorry but Pink Floyd's work was written by what I like to call esoteric poets...their music actually has layers to it,the more occult knowledge you possess the more layers you can peel back, its similar to how the Bible is written, this is a masterpiece
