Please make me the template. I love the way you made this. I haven't used my router yet but if I made one of these I might start using it. I do not have a laser cutter.
I've used Ryobi bt3000 or bt3100 portable table saws for twenty years they have a couple nice extension plates that have router table and Miter slide and they are metal sided table saw. Wish they would make these models still, motor is powerful and belt lasts forever .. only thing is you do have to plug in but that's ok I modified it with and external outlet so when you turn on the saw it turns on the vacuum at same time and off together. 😊
This is funny when I was working full time I had a tool trailer and had some jigs that I had made over time to do things for different reasons I had dead I had about a dozen different jigs but when I retired I was unloading the trailer and found it was more like 31 different jigs that could set up in less than 3 minutes and make hundreds of the same things

Well, I have over 8000 hours of router work accomplished and for me they hinder my performance and confidence and that actually results in more injuries. Just my opinion though… but once you understand the do’s and don’ts to working on a router table, combined with confidence and experience, you won’t have any accidents and it becomes super easy. But even though I’ve got a lot of experience with it, I still never allow myself to get so comfortable that I let my guard down. Respect your tools and they will respect you 👍
I have a similar set up my with Dewalt long saw stand. Purchase a set of stand clamps and attached to a 1” sheet of ply. And l have a table or router table next to my chop saw!
Its a tool that you will use for ever, and its way cheaper than buying a $1000 router table... so I guess its a matter of perspective. you see expensive, I see it as an investment, to make the stuff you need to make money until you get the expensive machine.

I actually built one with MDF. Just cut the right size with wing fully extended and a home in the middle

Really cool, but You really should screw that plate in. Any kick, and that router is going to be an unpredictable finger destroyer.

Youll still need a fence for cutting into the material.
Yes you will need a fence but that’s just placing a flat board along the table and clamping it down.
Great stuff. Only thing is using an underpowered router as a job site tool. I’d probably go with next size up. But this is awesome.
