i went on one a year ago just before th 313s and 365s went out of service. i was very lucky because it is the last time i will probably see those trains again. rip 365s and 313s.
These ones went real quick here - a full minute faster than IETs appear able to go from scouting realtimetrains - in fact, they need to skip Stevenage to match it
@@Solomon_C makes sense. Wait . You mean to tell me they accelerate that slow? The IETS I mean. And I think 365s maintained mid speed acceleration really good hence the ability to get to higher speed so fast . If they were able to get a full powered start then they'd rocket the entire way. But typically they'd need a notch 3 from what I've seen
@@bb-3653 IETs accelerate quickly, but these 365s in this video took 3:30 to get to Hitchin from Stevenage. This was obvs a full power start in this video - and it went 30-80 really well. IETs seem to get 4:15 at minimum when stopping at Stevenage. They can get 3:00 or less when skipping Stevenage, but these 365s here (365502+365534) were rockets!
@@bb-3653 In fact, many videos of the last 365s (which would be 502 and 534) seem to have them going fast - matching 700s between Hitchin and Stevenage despite braking softly into Stevenage - and maybe a slightly gentle start too. Watching this footage shows that they were competitive units alright when it came to acceleration!
Only at the beginning. After they are very quiet, the wind is the only thing you can hear with a mildly screaming traction motor , *the wind muffles is out*
Gotta love that *Car Shifting Traction Moter* 0:24
I remember these units. I use to take this train to Peterborough on my to the boarding school I went to.
The last comfy and good great northern train, poor happy train

Yeah man, i one ever went on a 365 this year
Still can't believe these got scrapped.. 🙄🙄🙄
I thought these trains got replaced by Class 387s and Class 700s
They have been now
why couldn't Scotrail keep them
I need to go on one!!!!!
Same
Same
@@dankstuff6127 I recently went on one !!
Last time I went one was before Christmas
+ nice one
wait. They still exist!!!!!!
Sadly not anymore
@@DANIEL5986 damn :(. i think i used to see them in King's Lynn. They had the 'First' livery
These could have been even faster if they were given more than just 1.2 megawatts of power. Perhaps 1.4mw would have made them as quick as a 379? 🤔

@@Solomon_C yep, despite its lower power output compared to electrostars etc.
A lot like the 465
