What was the reason for their withdrawal? They were last refurbished in 2014, and they still look almost new.

Yeah a big shame, such great units.
The fact that these very good (and still pretty modern) units got scrapped says a lot about just how wasteful and fragmented our setup with railway franchising really is. A complete lack of joined-up thinking. I am sad to see them go, unlike the newer units these had a bit of character and charm. They also looked great in their original NSE livery.
I don’t want to be rude but the text came up on the screen to quick to read the text on screen.
However I do have a problem with my eye sight and that I’m on a lot of Antipsychotics that make fatigue
