I would most definitely go off road in my 4xe if I could charge it up again. However, I don't know that I would go overlanding or go out for multiple days in an all electric vehicle. From the pictures shown you really don't want to go on too difficult of trails in this vehicle. But who knows, I've been a lot of places I really shouldn't have gone in a front wheel drive mini van too. Right now I'm not really thinking this would be a great idea. I will say this, when I go out wheelin in my 4xe I do like to conserve the battery until I get to the trail and shift over into electric mode for as much as I can. 4 Low requires the engine to kick in but I do enjoy the quite that afforded me by not running the engine on the trails. But right now I am very soured on my hybrid because of the recall. My next Jeep, if I go back to Jeep, will be a gasser. So most likely not. Thanks for sharing, Pat
Yeah, overlanding would be more problematic than just doing a day on trails for sure. I would take a generator for sure. Even level 1 charging over night would be better than nothing.
Nope! My 2021 Wrangler 4XE Rubicon was a nightmare. The happiest day was returning it to the dealership when the lease ended. Two months after I turned it in, another fire recall notice was issued for the vehicle. Good riddance…
I agree and would as well. I love watching the Cherokees and Renegades at our local ORV park. I'm convinced you just need 4H and some clearance and you can have a lot of fun.
This looks like a Land Rover and a Prado had an ugly electric child. When I think electric offroad, I think Magneto. Actually I'd love for you to look into the Jeep REPB thing that was hinted at by the UAW about a year ago. Basically a fully electric Jeep with an auxiliary combustion engine just to generate electricity. Same concept as in the BMW i3 Range Extender. But why would Stellantis think anyone would buy a full BEV from them then they don't even can't get their shit together with their PHEVs?
I would not trust a fully electric JRDC anything. Hearing their fully electric chargers are bricked when given to the dealer is all I need to hear to stay away from the brand
Different topic, but given this is being built on the same STLA platform that the new Ram 1500 Ramcharger is being built on.. perhaps they'll pivot and stick a penestar engine in there and make it a extended range EV. When looking at the order of the new scouts, as well as the ram 1500 ramcharger vs rv, 75% of the order are for the extended range vs bev vehicles. Of course, that's assuming Stellantis has a brain that's functioning.
Its a confused bronco clone aimed at the AWD crossover crowd??? For forest, logging, rural dirt track, it will be fine if you can get over its fugliness. A better Subaru Outback kind of deal for the PNW or RAV 4 for some of the Rockies? I have no idea who the market for this thing is. I stopped caring since I think it's ugly. Maybe its EURO off pavement ready.... Anything more than a rough water damaged old road hmmmm, NO THANKS. But that is legit as that is what most people are doing when the go "off road", myself included trying to get places in the wilder parts of the country. For TRUE obstacle park or crazy rock crawling, omg no. The range thing does not worry me IF you can get a charge before you leave pavement. There is the problem in West of the MidWest (hell, northern MidWest) to the West Coast. That aint happening and your glued to major Interstates you cannot leave over charging issues. There is NO way places like the Dakota Badlands (north or south), most of Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Eastern Oregon, Middle Washington, etc etc an electric anything is viable as soon as you leave the Interstate and that is not going to change anytime soon. Not most of North America ready 4x4 off roader.... Who is the market for this????? I can only think it might be a better crossover sort of the thing in a Coast or tied to a major metro. I dont get it, but I am not a European......
This is going to bankrupt Jeep. They will put the cheapest parts with terrible quality control which will cause them all to be Lemons or catch fire. Lol
I wouldn't trust a toilet seat that was made by Stellantis.

@@Wrangler4XEFans yeah, but sleeping in nature with an generator defeats the purpose. Just sayin', Pat
I would go full off road with a Rivan R1T and R1S, so Recon? Yes.
Know your limit and know the limit of your rigs.

@@ASUMirage15 I totally get it. I was looking at my service history in the Jeep app last night. Wow, what a list.
Same here 😂 22 Rubicon lease happiest day when I handed back the keys
Be hard if it’s like the 4XE and they don’t let you charge it. Scheduled service with the dealer today and they scolded me on it.
@@Jacobk66 scolded you for not charging?
what could the dealership possibly scold you for?
Heck yes I’d off road it. Guessing it’ll have air suspension. I’ve seen the GC Trailhawk do some crazy things. Guessing this will be more capable.

So, no recon edition on a gas-powered Wrangler Rubicon??
And no way would I off-road in a full electric vehicle.

Looks expensive to fix if body parts damage
If I wanted a beach or light trail car... It does not look sturdy...

Bronco look alike. I would prefer the V6, screw electric/hybrid
Off with out a rollbar, no thanks
Maybe, but I am not impressed with the looks. Yes, the wheel wells are really lacking.

I have a 4XE and it's a POS. I would not ever buy the recon
