  • More than 40 suspected criminals have reportedly been killed in shootouts with KwaZulu-Natal police in three months. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate has previously raised concerns about the number of suspects dying at the hands of police.
Institute for Security Studies' David Bruce, IPID spokesperson Phaladi Shuping and Lawyers for Human Rights' Wayne Ncube join #Newzroom405's Xoli Mngambi for a detailed conversation about the growing number of criminals shot by the police.

Xoli is asking nonsense questions including ipid ,when we received crime statistics we talk about ordinary people died with firearms weekly, monthly and quarterly. There is only mentioning of police failing to protect the innocent community killed by same criminals . Now the same killers are dealt with its a problem what do you want .I wish Xoli /media to be given a chance to be a cop atleast once .The pressure given to these police officers none of you can cope when it comes to accountability because of ruthless criminals ,we need to agree criminals are incharge in new South Africa .One day you must have a session with Minister of police or National Commissioner and ask him how many people died with firearms per each province per week .

Xoli SAPS must protect themselves in anyway possible.i do not condone a situation where police misuse their powers but people do not respect our SAPS.when police stop you to put law into order, you must abide.

Thabiso Ngcobo who was shot at by the police in Westville, Durban. Fortunately for him because he was driving a bullet proof vehicle. The matter is in court as we speak. 10 police officers have been arrested for that shooting of Mr Ngcobo. So, we don't know what or who to trust. Because it's seems as though some police officers also work as hit men. To make things worse, the police spokesperson said it was a wrong identification. That statement tells you that those police were out there to kill whoever they were looking for. The question then is, why are they shooting a man who was not a danger to them.

A decorated & dedicated police special force officer is in command of the SAPS in Kzn.
The orders now appear to issued , understood , executed & followed to the latter.
The general appears to be squeezing the space and all violent criminals better be aware!!!
